The Zortal were powerful magicians creators of the many charms and artefacts we now use. The RedHood is supposedly an ancient demon, the last one of his kind and the only one strong enough to control the stone giants other than the king. It is given a body of a manikin wearing a mask and wearing a red coloured hood armoured with its armour and sytch from the Void itself. If you stand utop the walls it has been said by the guards that a stone warrior's remains can be seen without a power core, another way to destroy them but a hard deed to perform, even for a Voidborn of a high status. It was said to have fought against the controller when it attacked along with the Shadows and was brought to its knees after the Voidborn smashed its chest and tore out its core.
Time seemed to fly by as everyone waited, the tension starting to build up as things passed in slow motion. It seemed to me that it was forever before the horn blared out, the guards streaming out of the main tent and other places into formation. The first group got up and headed to the podium. I looked over to Star who was somehow still asleep, I gently shook her shoulder to no avail. So I poked her under her ribs which brought a yelp from her as she bolted upright her unfinished piece of bread falling to the floor.
"What was that for?!" She growled at me "you could have told me to wake up instead of poking me!"
"I did just that and you were still asleep," I explained to her "so I just used the way I knew was the most effective way to wake you up. It also seemed that you are a true couch potato, falling asleep amongst all the noise and not even finishing your piece of bread." I told her gesturing to the croissant laying on the floor with one fourth of it eaten.
"Shut it." She mumbled averting my gaze kicking the bread away from her looking up to see the second group go up. "Although I have a theory on why I am still so small," she said, changing the topic "I read that for a dragon to acquire its true powers they need a catalyst for their respective element. The catalyst is our breath, although as I am I only have fire not shadows so I would need an artificial and continuous source in order to attain my powers."
"Oh that sounds intriguing, it seemed you need someone who can use shadow magic or be in a really dark place for a night or so to gain it am I right?" I asked her gladly taking up the conversation to escape the current situation as it was only the third group's turn now.
She nods "I would prefer a really dark place but that Is very hard to come by, I only have two options having Shadow breath or sleeping in the void. As the breath is not an ability I can gain it seems that I will be stuck like this for the rest of my life." She mused clearly not liking her predicament and seemed to be slightly frustrated as well.
"It's for the best" I reassured her patting her head looking up bored "It seems to last forever to get to us even though we are only the thirteenth." I muttered as Star nods in agreement sitting up and stretching her arms and legs.
"Well I could also grow from sleeping deep in a cave with no light close by it but well… I'm scared of doing so alone and I doubt anyone would want to accompany me in darkness for a night." She sighed making a pouting face and leaning her head on her arms "Just hurry up already… I can feel myself falling asleep again…" She yawned biting on her lips bored as sitting down does not match her energetic physique.
"I know it's hard for you to stay seated down for so long just bear with it for a while longer. Or you can take a stroll around our vicinity just stay close and try not to cause a ruckus." I told her as I looked around my surroundings and towards my friends.
"I can?! Well… I would if I could but I'd rather not as I might as well go around calling for trouble with my hyperactivity. I don't want to cause any trouble now especially with so many guards close by." She said pulling her hood further down as a couple curious glances from others fell on her. "It seemed that trouble might already be coming by way…" She muttered, lowering her head clearly disliking the attention she was receiving and the crowded surroundings.
