Chapter 41 - Chapter 1 [Hope Anew] (Page 35)

I closed my eyes everything happening here still feels like a dream but at least this is a good dream. I ran through my thoughts and memories on what happened at the podium, the light show, the surge of strength and its sudden disappearance. I tried to call it out again using emotions, memories, gestures but all of the attempts were fruitless and the power surge remained hidden. I guessed it lasted for only a while during that time or would it return under certain circumstances?

I sat back up opening my eyes just as someone pushed open the door, the first thing that I saw poke out were horns. "Star?" I asked considering she was the only person with horns I knew.

"Yeah, it's me." She said poking her head through "Can I come in?" She asked which I responded with a nod. She slipped in closing the door behind her, careful to not shut it on her tail. "The room is nice but it's too large for my liking, also I already despise the schedule even if it is yet to begin."I chuckled as she walked over to my side hopping up onto the bed next to me.

"I dislike it but this is the hero's life, besides I am sure you are the only one who hates it so much. The rest should be fine with it, after all while we were training you were reading or sleeping just like a bookworm." I told her, she scoffed when she heard this but was unable to complain because it was true.

After a pause she would ask me "So… I don't really know how I can survive even a day of this training, do you have any advice on how to?"

I shrugged "There's nothing I can do about that, it's on you that you did not bother to train so all I can say is good luck."

She whines softly flopping down on the bed "Well I'm screwed aren't I?" She muttered.

"Although you will be fine during magic lessons as you are our groups caster so that's something to look forward to." I told her as an attempt to comfort her.

"True, but regardless the physical classes will come first… and I'd hate to embarrass myself especially since we are what we are now." She told me while sighing before sitting back up "I really hope it won't be too intense… although I wonder what the rest are up to."

I shrugged and got up walking over to the totem activating it and looked for an interesting place that would allow me to pass the time. I zoomed out to get a view of the entire castle which was huge, Star scooted up behind me peering intently over my shoulder. I searched what the rest were doing and noticed they had gathered by a balcony somewhere close by to our rooms. I pointed to the location "Let's go here, after all the rest of them are already there so let's go join them."

She nodded in agreement "Yup, lets go" she said hopping off the bed and took up her staff which was laid against the desk. I stood up memorising the path before I headed out with Star in tow as she closed the door behind me before catching up. Her eyes glanced around admiring the architecture and a slight glitter showed in her eyes as she did so.

After a while of walking through the twists and turns of the corridor we arrived by the allocated balcony. Everyone was already there chatting amongst themselves with Shadow and Nimbus by the railings. Shadow was the first to notice our arrival and waved at us while Nimbus looked preoccupied with her thoughts which was an unusual sight.
