She bend down to untie her boots "Well thanks and its fine, I never really liked the clan anyways. After all, why dwell on that when I can make better memories with my friends and you." She said, flashing me a smile as she pulled her feet out of her leather combat boots. Her light blue eyes glittered in the candle light, just like the ocean in the morning's light. "Mind if I stay for the coming night River?" She asked me.
"Of course not, I'm sure father would be fine with it just like the old times hmm?" I told her, returning Sora's smile. Looking out of the window for a moment before I laid back on the bed looking at the stars engraved there again. She too laid back looking up with me, a faint glimmer in her eyes.
I sighed tired from all of the gathering and moving of the firewood. I adjusted my position so my head would be on top of the pillow all the while gazing up. She gave me space to adjust then laid down beside me, her hands behind her head. We laid there in silence and enjoyed each other's company.
Eventually my eyelids shut over my eyes and I drifted into a dreamless sleep. I regarded Sora as my older, faster and battle ready sister and I was her younger, hard headed and calculating younger brother. The night ran past like usual, no monsters getting on the walls and
killing someone. I woke up to a soft glow from the sun breaking to my eyes through my eyelids.
I reluctantly opened my eyes to a soft glow pouring through the open windows like a stream. The dust danced in the ray of light as little glowing spots floating through the room. I yawned softly looking over to Sora who was still asleep, her hair splayed over one of the pillows like a bucket of black paint. I smiled at how cute she was right now, her chest rising and falling peacefully.
I sat up looking out of the window at the streets which were starting to get busy, readying for the morning crowd. I edged my way over her sleeping frame, not wanting to wake her from her sleep. After a couple of seconds I got past and over her and sat on the edge of my bed. I sighed, getting up and stretching my sore and sleepy limbs.
I walked over to my small dressing room then cleaned up and wiped myself dry. I pulled a new set of clothes over my body for a new day, setting my old ones aside. I looked back at her, still asleep and looking adorable. With a smile I walked over and sat down at my sketch table.
