Chapter 11 - Chapter 1 [Hope Anew] (page 5)

I looked out of the window, using my photographic memory I started to draw the scene of the morning. Switching pencils to capture the shadows of the figures and objects, small or big nothing matters. Time flew past as I got lost in this world of my own, I heard Sora waking up and not disturbing me. Once she was done with freshening up, she sat by the bed sharpening her dagger waiting for me to finish.

An hour after that, I finished putting my pencil down and closing the book. I looked over to Sora, only to see her looking back at me. "About time you finished up River, I thought you were going to sit there for another day." She scoffed getting up.

"When have I ever done that, besides there is still you and my friends to enjoy the day with." I told her getting up, spinning the chair out of my way as I made my way to my sword. Sora smirked at me as she laid down on the floor, I took my sword and its sheath to hand. I strapped it to my belt looking over to her just as she jumped to her feet from the floor.

"Well let's go shall we, I'm sure your friends are missing you and is wondering what happened." She told me opening the door "You first" she said with an over exaggerated bow, earning a smack over her head from me as I walked out. "Ow" Sora mumbled smiling as she trailed behind me.

We left the house waving a goodbye to my father as he set up the bakery for business. He left us be with no questions asked as usual, flashing a now empty smile. We took the backdoor to not disturb his preparations and weaved our way through the city streets. The deeper we went the more crowded it became, then we made a turn into the alleyways.

Navigating through a make of narrow passages and over walls. Then over the walls a soft flame flickered yet, something was wrong there was fighting going on. We looked at each other concerned then with a burst of speed and strength we leaped over the wall to see a fight going on.

Our friends were clashing with another group who had stolen our stuff and bullied us regularly. Nimbus wove over and below the blades of her enemies and was the first to see us. Her eyes were greener than the wind and seemed to be constantly changing. She used her eleven speed and grace to doge the blades while striking back at her opponents with deadly accuracy.
