It was only a day since her funeral and the firing details she was given, yet it felt as I was watching my mother being lowered into the ground and the guns firing bullets into the distance. I turned my head to see a figure perched on the wooden pole hanging out from my window. Instantly I knew who that figure was.
"I know you're there, the creak gave you away." I told her getting up and looking at her. She pushed the windows open and slid in silently and gracefully, her black hair draped over her shoulders. Sora was clad in her usual outfit of back and a leather chest guard, a belt and daggers, two long and thin on her belt and one hidden in her boot.
"Long time no see river, apologies for that I was kept up with family matters. I don't really know what else to say but sorry for your mother's loss. I have only heard about this recently so I came as soon as I could." She said with sympathy, coming over and sitting beside me on the bedside. She looked into my eyes before slinging an arm around my shoulder as a means of comfort.
I did the same returning the look with a smile "Thanks for coming Sora despite the issues you have." I told her "Your chestpiece has seen better days." I commented seeing how it was covered with long cuts and worn out along with a slight nick on her cheek.
She looked down at it than back at me with a sly smile "I may or may not have ran into 'some' trouble on my way here" she spoke with an emphasis on some, "It's nothing that can't be fixed, after all I have already been late to meeting you. I don't have the time to be even later by taking a long detour to see you after a month."
"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask where have you been? No one in the group has seen you either." I asked her narrowing my eyes at her for emphasis.
She giggles softly into the scarf I gave her "Well did I say family issues, well I meant clan issues, in the end we were disbanded. At least the training is no longer compulsory which means I have more time to spend with you guys." She explained looking up to the stars on the ceiling.
"Oh well, I'm not too sure what to say but sorry about your clan breaking up but congratulations on having more free time." I told her looking up to the ceiling with her.
