Chapter 21
viLelouch's POV
Lou's taming of the lost beast bewildered everyone around. It was not supposed to be as easy as that; they expected hardship.
Usually, young wolves who lost their sanity during a full moon would turn berserk: wild and beastlike. It would be impossible to talk them out. They are void of any rationale as a werewolf, all in them are animalistic.
Even so, no one dared to ask Lou about it seeing how innocently she beamed them a smile after the young wolf fell down on her feet.
"Done," Lou clapped after throwing a robe to the shifted wolf; it shifted back to its human form.
"Who's gonna carry him?"
Alexa deadpanned and turned to the Alpha.
"Thank you Alpha Lemuel."
"I apologize for inconveniencing you and— ."
"Hey," Lou butted in. "I'm not carrying this guy," she lightly nudged the side with her foot.
Alexa rolled her eyes, "Then put him on my back," then she shifted.
"Well, I changed my mind," Lou mumbled then begun shifting too.
When done, she asked the Alpha for help in putting the guy on her back.
"I thought you're not gonna carry him," Alexa mind linked.
"I am against the idea of this guy on your back— or any guy in particular."
'awwwiiieee'
'hahaha'
Alexa again deadpanned but can't deny the giddy feeling in her stomach.
After bidding their goodbye to the Alpha and to his two other companions, the lovebirds started to take their step out of the foreign territory but— but was interrupted nonetheless.
"Alexa," Alpha Lemuel called.
Reika turned and waited for the Alpha to continue; there was a sense of importance in his tone.
"Do take care of Louchiechie."
At first glance, the words do not mean much. They're like the typical words someone would say to somebody on the daily basis but the way Alpha Lemuel looked at Reika and the way his voice sounded gave much weight to the words; he sounded like a worried, sympathetic father of Lou.
"She's not much—," he continued.
"... but the Moon Goddess has chosen her as your mate for a reason."
"Stand by her side."
"She deserves it."
The chill of the night's breeze crept through Reika's skin despite her thick fur along with the words the Alpha had uttered.
Alexa could see why the Alpha acted like that— it's definitely the House of Rohan.
'yeah'
As one of the powerhouses of noble werewolves in the planet, none knew not of her grandfather: how he is like and how he rules like.
"I will," Alexa mumbled to herself but was in utter shock when the Alpha smiled as if he heard her.
Sensing the confusion of her mate, Addi spoke through the link, "He heard you."
"I think it's our mate bond that made it possible, my love."
'awwiieee'
Growling faintly, Reika bid goodbye one last time then took off.
[***********]
"Do take care of Louchiechie."
"I will," Addi mimicked through the mate link.
He was running alongside Reika going back to the packhouse.
"Can you stop now Addi?" Alexa complained. "You sure has the same personality with your human."
"Not quite so, my love." Addi opposed.
"We are actually opposite in almost everything but surprisingly, we aligned when it comes to you."
"Well, you would know that and more, if only you will let us— that is."
The last words hit Alexa and a feeling of guilt stung in her conscience. So, she held her tongue, not knowing how to respond to that.
Well, her silence made Lou to rub more though, "Do take care of Louchiechie."
"I will," Lou mimicked just as Addi did.
"Oh, goddess," Alexa groaned, frustration in her tone.
"After Addi and now you— Louchie?"
"And— there's— me," Reika joined in.
Alexa huffed, "Wow, so three on one huh."
"I can't believe this. You should be on my side Reika."
Not minding the complains of her human, the wolf just winked at her mate running by her side.
'lalala'
"Don't stress yourself too much love, I'm just really happy," Lou spoke after many leaps.
"I will," she mimicked again.
'hahaha'
"Oh, Goddess."
"Will you stop now Louchie?" Alexa hissed, annoyed.
"The words held no importance."
"I just said that on a whim, okay?"
'tsk'
"No, you don't baby," Lou contradicted.
"And what would make you say that?"
"Mate bond, my love. I could feel it."
Alexa once again groaned in defeat and went to silence. She did not see the point of arguing anymore.
And after a moment of that silence, where the only sound were the breeze of the air on their ears and the crunching of some leaves on their paws as they ran, Alexa spoke, addressing Lou.
"Are you always like this?"
"Like what?"
"Expressive—"
"Nope, just with you," Lou answered straight away, sincerity was there in her tone and that made the air caught up in Alexa's throat.
"Could you please stop that?" the annoyed girl asked sternly after a moment.
"Stop what?"
"Being expressive and— sweet and all," she hesitated.
A teasing smile played in Lou's lips, "Well, why should I, Alexa?"
"I just can't," she denied the request.
"I love telling you all the little detail I love in you."
"I'm going to remind you everyday how much you mean."
"And I'm going to keep reminding you for the rest of my days."
"I love you with all of me— and beyond baby."
'woahhh'
'ayiiiiiieeee'
'hahaha'
