Chapter 25 - Like The Breeze of Autumn

Chapter 25

ALEXA ROHAN

I was lazily twirling my pasta with the fork, staring at it for a good while but not really looking 'cause I was lost in my thoughts.

After a lengthy moment of silence with the gang—

'Yes, I was with them'

'We were sitting together in a long table that's been put together in the cafeteria'

... I took a glance at everyone. Well, like me, most were lost in thoughts except Carl Davis whose eyes were comically glancing at each of us. He's probably assessing the air around.

'yeah'

The setting, the all of us being together, eating in the same table at the same place and at the same time, was a miracle in itself.

There has never been a time in the school's history that members of different pack had come together and not breaking each others bones.

'Exception in classes of course'

Not to mention, there was Maggie and Karen who are known to be sworn enemies from the beginning of their time.

And there was me.

Even I, had asked myself why— why the hell was I with them eating my pasta.

'ugh'

Then Lou spoke as timely as the silence could not be more suffocating. "Sorry for worrying you all but I'm fine," she flashed a smile.

And like the breeze of autumn, the leaves of realization rained over me. A realization that all that has happened were because of my mate.

'yeah'

It was her all along.

I recounted the events—

... from how my pack became livelier ever since she came,

... from how she seemed to get along with everybody in the house,

... from how she's friends with members of other packs,

... from how she tamed the beast that night and,

... from how she was treated like a daughter of the alpha of another land we had trespassed.

'goddess'

I was overwhelmed of the facts.

She's like a ray of sunshine, of hope, or a magnet that pulls even the rustiest of iron.

She is something.

She is— my love.

viLelouch's POV

Inside the school premises, each pack has a particular spot somewhere; a territory of their own that is exclusive only for pack members: a den.

At the Royal Moon Pack's den , three subordinate werewolves were giving Kareem their reports. And based on the veins popping out from Kareem's neck, surely, he was not pleased.

"Morons!"

"She's slippery Kareem," one of the three reasoned.

"We can't land a hit on her. We failed at every attempt."

"Maybe your attacks were so damn obvious!"

"They were not," the guy insisted. "You know how we work Kareem."

"You know how sneaky we are but that girl just had all the luck in the world."

"She either slips, dodging our sneak attacks inches away or moves away at the right time."

"We doubt she even notice the attacks were for her."

"Not to mention her sneezing," the guy on the left butted in.

"Yeah, her sneezing," the first guy affirmed .

Kareem glared at them, doubting his subordinates words.

"Y— you saw it too," the first guy stuttered, cowering in Kareem's glare.

"The last time you swung a bat on her head but she suddenly slipped— avoiding your attack?"

"Something like that happened to us."

"It's absurd but that was it."

Hearing the explanation, Kareem withdraw his glare.

"Then—"

"Stop this Kareem," a guy by the name of Harold cut him. He's the son of their beta.

"Why are you even doing this?"

"The girl has not done anything to you, to us or to the pack."

Kareem bared his teeth, "The fact the she's the mate of my brother's fiancee is good enough reason why I'm doing this, my future beta."

"My brother isn't here so I'm doing this for him," he added.

"Do you think Kurt would be pleased if he knew this?" Harold dared.

Kareem took a moment to respond, he contemplated.

"Well, I just want to have fun," he admitted, twitching an ill smile.

"It so happen, she's the perfect prey to toy upon in this boring times."

Harold let out a frustrated groan, "So all these are just for your own pleasure."

"Ah huh," Kareem affirmed.

"How about I throw a silver dagger at her this time?" A girl on the side remarked, she has darkness all over her.

"Oh please, not you too Sam," Harold scowled at the girl. "That's forbidden."

"That is if I get caught," Sam snickered. "In which, of course— I won't," then both Kareem and her shared a devilish grin.

'hmmmm'
