Chapter 13 - Conqueror's path

In the next years, Aven changed his lifestyle, he spent the majority of his free time searching for information about the slayers, training his body and trying to mutate his heart.

Every human must mutate his heart before starting their training to manipulate the mana, usually a human need from two to four months with the help of the system to achieve it.

But only the most astounding talented people can do it in a single month without the help of the system. .

Aven's heart mutated after only one month of training without the help of the system.

Unfortunately, aside the basic information about how to manipulate the mana, the system blocked the disclosure of any information about spells or skills.

Every slayer must obtain those informations directly from the system through hard work as a reward.

Aven could only wait to get the system before learning a spell, For this reason, he spent the next four years by training his mana manipulation and body.

Aven studied as less as he could to barely obtain a 6/10 in order to not be expelled and still have as much time as possible for his training.

He knew that behind his back his schoolmates laughed at him and that the teachers thought that he was a waste, but he couldn't care less about what the others thought about him.

Since the mutation of his heart, his body was stronger than that of an adult, no one dared to bully him or do something in front of him, but this didn't mean that they couldn't do something like isolating him.

Aven never tried to open himself to other people, he simply isolated his emotions and thoughts within his heart…

*****. *****

Within one of the three skyscrapers 1000 meters tall with around 180 floors each, in the richest part of Hope city, in one of the apartments on the fourth floor, a seventeen years old man sitted on a chair with a huge smirk on his face.

This man is Aven, he is tall, with an athletic body and an handsome face, a sharp jawline, brunette hair and brown eyes, however with a facial expression and a gaze that would send shivers through anyone's spine.

If there is a single word to describe Aven right now, that word would be 'evil'.

***** Some minutes before ******

'Finally, after 4 long years… The time has come…'

[Activation Dodo tutoring system in progress…

Activation completed, do you wish to collaborate with the system?]

A cold mechanical voice echoed in his head

'Yes, I wish to collaborate'

[Very well, construction reinforced link completed. Analysis of the user in progress… Stable foundation detected, special conditions met, do you wish to see your options for your future path?]

'That is what I was waiting for, but… Special conditions met for what? I never heard of something like this before… It doesn't matter, show me my options for my path, system!'

[Spell caster : User will learn new spells proportionally to his achievements during the battles with the mystical races.

Mana forger :User will learn new spells proportionally to the number and quality of artefacts crafted for spell casters.

Necromancer : Rise an immortal legion from the bodies of your enemies, the system will provide all the necessary knowledge to the user when the user will need it]

'Basically, are you saying that if I chose the path of the necromancer, I won't need to work for the system?'

[User's objective is the same of the system, the system already consider user as a hidden ally, the system won't expose the truth to anyone unless user's life is in danger, please make your choice]

'You already know my choice'

I answered with an evil smirk.

[Path of the necromancer confirmed, all the necessary informations unlocked, do you want to see them?]

'Show me everything'

[Unique spell learned - Death energy extraction : Obtain death energy from a corpse, the stronger the user is, the more death energy the user is able to obtain from the corpses. Unique domain unlocked - Personal death domain : Allow the user to create his own 'death domain' . The domain can be upgraded by spending more death energy. The domain can be expanded by spending more death energy. The death domain can store death energy and higher undead.

Unique skill - Necro library (User can borrow the Skill Necro library from the system, if user wish to upgrade it or build its own, it can be builded inside the 'Personal death domain') : Store every type of undead that you can create by analyzing a corpse. Unique spell learned - Summon undead (Lower tier) : Consume death energy to summon an undead creature, the spell can only summon lower undead. The number of summoned undead is limited by your proficiency of control over death energy. You will choose the type of undead creature from the 'Necro Library'.]

I felt like thousands of needles pierced my head, one after another, like a stream.

'ARGHH, Damn system!'

I collapsed on the floor losing consciousness.

Hours later, I opened my eyes.

The first thing that I saw was Robert.

The middle aged, short and bald man looked at me with a worried expression.

"How are you? What happened?!"

I am currently lying on my bed, I tried to remember what happened and a strong headache welcomed me like a hit from a truck at full speed.

I couldn't help but shout while touching my head with my hands, I wouldn't be too surprised to not find it, or to find a hole or something.

"AAH! Hhh…dammit!"

The middle aged man panicked while trying to understand what happened.

" What a second, I will call the hospital!"

"No… Don't worry, I will be fine…"

I forced a smile, but he didn't believe me at all.

"No, you won't, this isn't the first time that I see you suffer, but you never shouted in pain like this!" He said while staring at me with a suspicious expression.

"If I don't think about it, it won't hurt too much"

Robert didn't seem to be satisfied at all with this answer but he respected my decisions, like always.

From when he took me in he treated me like a son, but he respected my decisions, he said something like 'you will learn from your mistakes' or something similar.

After some time to ascertain that I wasn't in any life-threatening condition, he left me while mumbling something about resting.
