Only 2 humans stood tall on the silent battlefield, Skaarl looked at the 2 snakes with a satisfied smile before talking.
"Hehe, let me show you how a necromancer clear a gate alone"
Skaarl walked right in front of the last snake that they killed with an evil grin and extended his hand…
"Arise"
Aven felt the death energy within the two snakes tremble, after a few seconds, their eyes flashed with a bright red light for a few seconds before becoming deep red.
The injuries on their bodies healed as they both moved in front of Skaarl, Aven was wondering if his summoned undead would be different from those of the other necromancers, after all he is using the skill set of a higher necromancer...
The two undead are now weaker than before, but can still be useful in order to fire multiple spells at the same time, or as meat shields in the worst case scenario.
"We should kill as much Tier 3 snakes as we can before attack their main base in this zone"
Aven asked with expectations.
"Yes, do you have a way to map the zone?"
"Hey brother, now you are overestimating me, you know?" Skaarl answered in embarrassment.
"..." Aven simply shook his head while thinking 'Isn't he the same person that talked all the time while we were coming here boasting about how many yellow gates he cleared on his own?'
"Let's search around stealthily for other preys" He said with an evil smile.
The 4 of them walked through the vegetation in silence.
Not too long after they found a valley, within this valley there are five Tier 2 snakes and one Tier 3.
"Looks like we found a minor outpost…" Skaarl whispered.
"Do you have a plan to clear it?" Aven asked in a cold tone, but within his mind the situation was a bit different… 'He won't need those Tier 2 snakes… Their death energy will be all mine…'
"Yes, I have a simple but effective plan, you three kill the Tier 3 snake while I stop the other 5 snakes from attacking us…I think this is the easier way to clear this little outpost"
"Understood" Aven replied instantly.
The two snakes and Aven walked behind Skaarl within the valley…
When they entered, the two snakes fired 2 wind blades, while Aven fired his death bolt.
Just like in the last battle, the death bolt weakened a bit the snake, while the wind blades dealt normal injuries.
Meanwhile, Skaarl summoned a dense black fog, the fog blinded the Tier 2 snakes.
The Tier 3 snake couldn't fight back since every attack that he made was immediately intercepted by two attacks from the undead snakes, on the other side, Aven was free to fire death bolts.
After 3 bolts, one undead snake was enough to block him while the other was finally free to fire his wind blades directly on the enemy.
After 3 other bolts and as many wind blades, the Tier 3 snake was in a pitiful state.
He was bleeding from multiple cuts and the Death bolts weakened him constantly, he died soon after.
After killing their leader, Aven looked at Skaarl, drops of sweat descended from his forehead, it's clear that blocking 5 Tier 2 snakes at the same time was too much for him.
Seeing that they've already killed the Tier 3 snake, Skaarl released the fog and joined his three companies in order to kill the remaining snakes.
Soon after, all the Tier 2 snakes died.
"Brother, I take the Tier 3, the others are all yours, how is it?"
Aven walked in front of the corpses and extended his hand while answering "It's fine by me" .
(Death energy extraction!)
[ Death energy absorbed - 7 units, energy stored in the personal death domain - 14/10.
Personal death domain full, do you wish to expand it for 10 units of death energy?
If user doesn't spend the death energy, 4 units will be lost]
'Expand the death domain'
[ Death energy units stored in Personal death domain - 4/11]
'Oh, so that is how it works… Interesting… Let's absorb the other four…'
[ Death energy absorbed - 28 units, energy stored in the personal death domain - 32/11]
'If my undead are as strong as the normal ones it's useless to summon Tier 2 snakes now… Let's try after raising their efficiency, expand the death domain 3 times!'
[ Death energy units stored in Personal death domain - 2/14.
Current efficiency - low ( 6/10) ]
'Hey system, are my undead the same as those summoned by the other necromancers?'
[ Negative, user's undead will be stronger and will survive until user recycle them or the mana around them is too thin to support them ]
'Do you mind explain?'
[ If a normal necromancer summon an undead from a Tier 3 corpse, the undead can be considered Tier 2.5, if user summon an undead from a Tier 3 project, the undead can be considered as strong as a true Tier 3, the mana density of the sector can support only Tier 4 undead and lower tiers.
In the future, the mana density of the sector will increase ].
'This is… Can I summon an infinite number of tier 4 undead?'
[ As long as user spend death energy to summon them, user can summon an immortal legion.
This is why the necromancer is considered the path of a conqueror, as long as the user prepares himself, user can create his own immortal legions].
'Hey system, is there a path stronger than that of a necromancer?' Aven asked as a joke, after all, who can win against an infinite number of enemies?
[ Only a extremely small number of people usually can become higher necromancers, an immortal legion is useless if the user is killed by a single shot of an enemy from the distance, User should never underestimate his enemies. ]
'I see… ' Aven remained speechless from the system's serious reply.
"Hey brother, there are a lot of other snakes and we don't have all day to clear them, let's go!" Skaarl said while walking with his snakes toward the vegetation.
"I will follow you like your shadow" Aven followed the group from behind them.
The group moved stealthy around the tall tree in order to not alarm the strongest snake of the zone until they're strong enough to take him down.
After walking around for a while…
Probably because now they are in 5 or maybe because the necromancers aren't good at moving without being detected, anyway… They were ambushed by the brainless snakes!
2 Tier 3 wind blades hit one of the 3 Tier 3 undead, seriously injuring him, at the same time multiple Tier 2 wind blades hit Skaarl's 'Veil of the dead', shattering it and exposing the 2 humans.
"You think about the Tier 2 snakes, I will block the others!" Skaarl shouted while a black dense fog surrounded him and the 2 Tier 3 snakes.
Aven looked toward the Tier 2 snakes and when he realized that they were only 3 snakes, a smile compared on his face as he and the other 2 remaining undead snakes fired death bolts and wind blades at the enemy.
Aven's death bolts destroyed his enemy's spells and hit it at the same time, after each hit, his enemy became weaker and weaker, soon after, his enemy's corpse lied in front of him, at his side, the still bleeding corpses of the other 2 Tier 2 snakes.
Aven and the 2 undead snakes attacked one of the two Tier 3 snakes like they've done in the little outpost not too much time ago.
At the same time, Skaarl released the fog and focused on the other Tier 3 snake with his dark spears.
Soon after, the silence returned to the battlefield…
"Hm… I will take only one of those Tier 3 snakes...If I take too many Tier 3 snakes, I won't be able to control enough Tier 4."
Aven was more than happy to accept.
(Death energy extraction!)
[ Death energy absorbed - 42 (21 From 3 Tier 2 + 21 From 1 Tier 3) units, energy stored in the personal death domain - 44 /14.
New information added in the Necro library - Soul-penetrating-eyed snake (Tier 3) Available for summoning.
Efficiency increased for Soul-penetrating-eyed snakes from Low to Normal (10/100).
9 death energy required in order to summon a Tier 2 Soul-penetrating-eyed snake.
27 death energy required in order to summon a Tier 3 Soul-penetrating-eyed snake. ]
