The next day, Aven walked in the Salyers' association once again, to his surprise, almost every member of the staff recognized him, in their eyes, he could see curiosity and a bit of fear, probably that is what happen after being called as 'brother' from Skaarl.
Before Aven arrived at the training room, Skaarl called him with the SHB.
"Hey brother, are you planning to spend the whole day in the training room like yesterday?"
"...Yes, how do you know?"
"I see...secret of the job, hehe. Where are you?"
"Right in front of yesterday's training room"
"Wait for me, I will be there in 17 seconds"
Skaarl terminated the call and walked toward Aven.
When he arrived…
Aven couldn't help but thought
'It took you a lot more than 17 seconds…'
"Training for a day is fine, but if you train every single day, it's only boring, come with me, I will show you how a true necromancer should train"
Skaarl started talking with a smile, but he ended with a evil smirk, if someone else looked at him in this moment, they would probably think that Skaarl is a villain just exited from a novel or Manga.
Aven asked since he couldn't even cast a tier 2 spell.
"Do you mind explaining?"
Skaarl said while walking toward the exit.
"Of course! Someone found a new gate not too far from hope city, let's go to clear it!"
Aven stopped him while thinking. 'He isn't going toward a green gate… right?'
"Oh? What color is it?"
The gates have different colors, the color change based on the invaders' strength, the colors are black, red, orange, yellow and green. Within every gate, there is something that the system call 'Celestial crystal', it can be sold to a Mana smith or the association for money, it can also be exchanged with the system for exotic products. No one understands how the system can do it, but the Celestial crystal would simply disappear while what you were looking to would appear in its place.
Hearing the question, Skaarl's smirk became even wider as he answered.
"Yellow! It's the perfect gate to show you how a necromancer should fight"
"Can we clear it with just the two of us? Shouldn't we go with a whole team of tier 4 slayers?"
Skaarl laughed as if hearing the best joke.
"Those weaklings?! Necromancers are famous to be a path for a one-man-army, I can rise hundred corpses, why should I need those weaklings? Let's go or someone will arrive before us!"
After hearing him, Aven couldn't help but smile while following him.
'Well… it looks like I found how to get some free death energy…'
Half an hour later…
Two men were getting out of a floating white car, the car is floating half a meter over the ground and is completely white with the image of an undead dragon with red eyes on the door.
The two men entered the gate after showing their ID to a policeman.
"Sir Kerous, please enter the gate, I don't know how long we will be able to keep it hidden."
Hearing this, Aven couldn't help but thought.
'Keep it hidden? It looks like they are doing something illegal… Not that I care about it, I should ask Skaarl why is he doing all of this for me…'
Skaarl nodded toward the policeman before walking right in front of the yellow gate.
The gate looks like the entrance to a ancient castle, a huge double door formed by a yellow liquid-like substance.
Skaarl walked closer to the four meters wide gate, when he extended his hand to touch it, he disappeared in a yellow flash of light.
Aven entered soon after.
*****. *****
In a place that looked like a ruin, a 10 meters long snake rested coiled around a pillar, with his four eyes closed and a pair of folded wings on his back.
The wings are unnaturally small compared to his body, but the simple thought that a things like this could fly would be enough to send shivers through anyone's spine.
The snake suddenly opened his four eyes and raised his head to look at the anomaly that he could feel.
Before he could understand what happened, two yellow lights flashes in front of him as two unknown entities entered his liar!
'only two invaders? Uhuhuh… It looks like they want to become my snack quite badly… It would be bad from me to not grant them their wishes…'
The snake's body shined in a green light as he flew like a bullet from his position toward the two invaders.
At this moment a black wall of a shadow-like substance compared in front of him
The snake laughed within his mind as he continued charging directly toward the wall.
'Hmph, you weaklings think to be able to stop me now with this little wall of yours?? How funny!'
Unexpectedly, when his head touched the wall, it flew through the wall as if it was made of paper.
'Hahaha, this is so funny, I should have asked them to send me here a lon… !',
His thoughts were interrupted by a black spear that penetrated one of his left eyes.
The snake's mind froze as he realized that he has been injured by a weakling.
Soon after, he crashed into the floor completely missing targets.
The enraged snake fired a spell toward the weakling that injured him, a small ball of green poisonous substance shot toward Skaarl, as he fired another spear toward the snake.
The black spear and the green ball met each other and… The spear annihilated the green light as if it didn't exist at all.
When the snake realized that the size of his opponent didn't determines his strength, it was already too late.
The spear hit one of his right eyes, and when he tried to move he realized that both of the spears were stealing his strength!
Even before the snake could think to a solution, a third spear flew toward him…
This time the spear wasn't aimed to his eyes but directly toward his brain!
The unlucky poor snake died while thinking
'Didn't they say that the strong weaklings would attack me only if I caused a commotion?! How can this happen?! Why?!'
That spear was the last thing that the poor unlucky snake sew…
"Hehe, A Tier 4 'Dark spear' against a tier 2 spell? Those guys are quite brainless… They ambush us with a Tier 2 guard within a tier 4 gate? I bet that they never learned a decent strategy… Good, do you want to take the first one?"
Aven nodded before walking with an evil smirk toward the snake.
"Sure"
'Uh, let's see if I can do it…'
(Death energy extraction!)
A shadow left the body of the dead snake and flew toward Aven.
