After Robert exited my room I was too tired to do anything but sleep.
The next day…
I opened my tired eyes hearing my annoying alarm clock, while I turned it off, I realized what happened yesterday and…
'please, tell me that it wasn't a dream, system!'
A cold mechanical voice answered within my head.
[ According to the brain waves recorded by the system, the user has not dreamed].
Aven expression changed immediately after hearing the system.
'HAHAHA, you are real!'
[ User is currently in weakened state, the system advise the user to keep calm until his complete recovery]
After hearing those words, Aven calmed himself down as the smile never left his face.
'OK, I understand, how much time until complete recovery?'
[ One week of natural recovery or less time if the user help by thinking about the informations obtained yesterday]
'Understood'
I left a note outside the door before returning to my bed and think about…
'AAAHH, why the hell it's so painful?!'
[ User absorbed years of knowledge in a single moment, it's normal to not feel well for some days.
The system recommend to endure the pain and speed up the assimilation process]
'I would have done it anyway… I have no choice, I must endure…'
*****. *****
Robert looked at Aven with a worried expression every time he entered his room to bring him food.
After two days of pain, Aven completely recovered.
'So these are the famous unique spells… This path will surely help me to obtain what I want.
I would like to know how much I am proficient with the death element, I will only know by trying…'
[ Practice experiments with the death element in this place would be extremely dangerous]
' What is this? Do you think that I am so dumb to cast a spell at full power for the first time? '
[ The system' s predictions are 99,98 cases of 100 correct, the system hope that the user will make the wiser choice]
'Fine, let's go to the Slayers' association to search for a training room'
However, before reaching his destination, Aven encountered someone else… Robert
"How are you?"
Robert asked with a tired tone and with bags under his eyes.
"I'm fine, you on the other hand… You didn't sleep, did you? "
"How could I sleep knowing that you are going through hell…"
He stopped and looked at me for a second before continuing while shaking his head.
"But it looks like I was worried for nothing…"
Aven was quite moved by the actions of Robert
'At least there is someone I can rely on… I will make sure to thank him properly when I will have a chance…'
This time, was Aven's turn to shake his head while replying.
"I appreciate everything you've done for me until now"
A surprised expression competed on Robert' s face
"What happened? Why are you talking to me as if you are going to leave?"
"Robert, you know what I've been doing the last four years, right?"
He nodded and waited for me to continue.
"You remember that three days ago was my birthday?"
He replied while sighing.
"I knew it… You didn't change your mind, did you?"
"Indeed"
Robert asked with a depressed expression.
"I see… Where are you planning to go?"
"For now, Slayers' association, for the future, I still don't know."
He walked toward his room while talking as if he was already thinking about something else.
"I won't waste any more of your time, see you for dinner"
'But we have just finished breakfast…'
Aven left the apartment while wearing casual clothes.
While walking I thought-talked with the system.
'Hey system, I can tell them that I am a necromancer without any problem, right?'
[Yes, every path, basic or special is protected by the system, the Slayers' association won't do anything to you]
Aven replied with an excited evil expression on his face.
'Good to know'
After thirty minutes…
Aven is in front of one of the 3 great skyscrapers.
This skyscraper is dedicated to the slayers, everything that have something to do with slayers is within this building, it can be considered a little town alone.
At the lower floors there are shops of all kinds, restaurants, and finally… The training rooms. At the higher floors instead are all apartments for slayers, only slayers are allowed to sleep here.
Some people call this place 'the lion's den', and today I am here… Finally.
Aven walked through the automatic glass doors, what welcomed him was a luxurious reception with multiple desks and comfortable-looking sofas.
Aven walked to a desk where a young man was reading something on the monitor in front of him.
"Hello sir, how may I be of your service?"
The young man asked politely, he knew that a lot of slayers walked around the city wearing casual clothes, it's impossible to know if you are offending a slayer or a normal person, for this reason, no matter how weird you are, or how you dress, everyone here will treat you politely.
"Hello, I wish to use a training room"
"Understood, please show me your slayer ID and we will assign you a training room immediately"
He said with a smile while thinking
'Here we are, another battle maniac that only think about training… Why the hell do you ask for a training room as soon as you enter… I will never understand those guys…'
"I obtained my path three days ago, I still don't have an ID"
Hearing those words, the young man felt like he wanted to cry.
'Even worse than I thought, the first thing that this guy want to do after becoming a slayers is training…I really don't understand those guys, are we really from the same race?'
He replied while trying his best to not look at Aven as if looking at a exotic animal.
"Understood, please compile this module and we will provide you an ID"
Ten minutes later…
"Uh?! A necromancer! Wow, we only have around five necromancers in the whole city, you know?" This time he failed to maintain his professionalism and shouted out of surprise when he read the module.
Useless to say, everyone in the reception looked at Aven as if he is some kind of exotic beast.
After some seconds, the young man calmed himself and typed something on the monitor in front of him.
Some embarrassing minutes later…
A shout echoed from an elevator in the whole reception.
"Kid, it's better for you that it's something important if you wish to have children in the future!"
An angry middle aged man entered the reception, he is tall with long dark hair and unkempt beard, he is very scary, the air around him seemed to be on fire as he walked toward us.
The poor young man in front of me answered him as fast as he could in panic.
" He is a necromancer! For the tests for new slayers!"
When the middle aged man heard that I am a necromancer he stopped immediately.
His aura completely changed from that of a wild beast to that of a kind neighbor.
"Brother! Is good to see other like us in this shitty city, come with me!"
He talked happily as if nothing happened when he entered the reception.
'This guy is definitely weird…'
While they are walking, he looked toward Aven and talked again.
"I'm the necromancer Skaarl Kerous, but you can call me brother, what about you?
Aven nodded before introduce himself
"I'm Aven Blackwolf, pleased to meet you"
"Hehe, a name worthy of a necromancer, I'm sure that one day your name will make your enemies tremble in fear whenever they hear something about you"
Aven answered with an evil grin, worthy of the eviler villains around the world.
"I will make sure that they won't ever again forgot the true meaning of fear… " That is what he said, but at this moment what he is thinking is completely different 'What the hell just happened?! Why did I told him something like this? This is definitely this weirdo's fault…I should keep some distance from him…'
"AHAHAH, finally another true necromancer! I was so bored, staying every day here alone, after some time it become so boring that I would change city…"
"I thought that there were other 4 necromancers in the city…"
"Yeah, but they are so boring… Always talking about how to enter the next level and similar bullshits… "
While talking, we finally arrived at the training rooms in the second floor.
