"You finished the job!?" Exclaimed the lady who was holding the job sheet.
The way she exclaimed made Eden surprised. She sounded shocked, at the same time she cried out so loud that everyone's attention turned at him.
"Yes, I have finished the job."
"Oh, ok please present us the proof of the job completion." The lady who also happened to be a guild overseer spoke calming herself down.
"What do you want as proof?" Eden asked the lady who seems quite young to be an overseer. He wasn't worried about the proof, after all, he had bodies of entire Reptilian-Cara horde in his inventory. Though almost half of their bodies had been crushed, none of their core could be destroyed.
"Head of the Leader of Reptilian-Cara or its body. As long as you provide us with anyone of those you can claim the reward." The lady answered the question calmly.
"Hmm, in that case, I got two." Eden grabbed the stacked leader body from the inventory and placed them in the table beside him.
Suddenly everyone inside the guild jerked from their place and stood abruptly. Eden had no idea as to why were they showing such a reaction. Though he was also happy by the fact that he has been gaining SP after SP, he had no idea why he was gaining these SP.
Did the system break down?
He was glad that he has been wearing a cloak this whole time. As for those mentally unstable people who were exclaiming at him time and again he had no plans to introduce himself to them, unless he was planning on being a mentally ill, just like them.
While Eden was talking with the overseer other mercenaries finally calmed themselves down. They were a bit surprised when the hood man's hand disappeared into nowhere, after all, it wasn't every day you get to see a mage use spatial magic. But when he took out two Reptilian-Cara leader corpses, they couldn't control themselves.
A Reptilian-Cara horde only consists of two leaders when their number crosses over one thousand. The mercenaries finally realized the reason why so many of the mercenaries in the past lost their lives. At the same time, this event has also presented them with an opportunity.
To reach the leaders you have to go through the lackey. Without killing those lackey, you can never touch the leaders.
In other words, right now the hooded man has over one thousand reptilian-cara corpse in his spatial space. Even if only half of the corpse turned out to be usable, that still meant more than five hundred corpses that could be sold. Add cores on top of that, which couldn't be destroyed.
A corpse could be sold for ten gold coins, while the core cold is sold at the price of at least fifty gold coins. Even normal calculation shows the profit of over fifty-five thousand gold coins. The leaders' cores on the other hand cost almost five hundred gold coins each.
Greed; desire for more, especially when it comes to money. And right now Eden had heaps of those. Of course, the mercenaries were surprised. Of course, they couldn't control themselves.
All of a sudden everyone left the guild house. The only person remaining inside were Eden and the lady.
"So you are saying, I can't get the money here, only the completion letter. Why?" Eden was still questioning the lady.
"You can claim your reward in the Lightning City. It's the closest secondary branch to our guild. One thousand gold coins is a lot of reward for a mission. A small guild like ours can only provide rewards for up to a hundred gold coins." Replied the lady. "So, once a mission with a reward over a hundred gold coins is completed, the person has to take the reward from either the main guild in the capital or the secondary branches of the guild. It's also to guarantee the safety of the mercenary." The lady continued ."Though I don't know if you should even leave the guild right now."
"Why so?" Eden questioned while keeping the completion letter in the inventory.
The lady pointed behind Eden at the space.
"Where's everyone?"
"Out. To gather force." She continued. "Even though Lord Shannon has taken lots of troops for war there are still some forces residing in the land."
"And why do they need to gather the forces?"
"Why do you think?"
.... Sh*t.
