Chapter 1 - Abnormal Trial.

"Ow, ow, ow... My head!!!"

Grabbing the head Eden slowly arose from the ground. He was covered by the clothes which looked out of the world while the body fully drenched in sweat or rain, he couldn't tell.

The huge green mossy wet rock below him where he was standing. He knew if he slipped, he was a goner for a second time. As he looked down from the edge of the rock his heart shook violently.

"What kind of godforsaken place is this?" Cursed Eden as he looked around. However, he couldn't find any path. Slowly for the second time, he looked below gathering every bit of courage he had.

[System's Trial Initiated]

Mission: Survive (This is the highest peak of the kingdom of Acnos. Claimed to be impossible to climb to the top. Hence you are not to climb up to the top, instead climb down to the base.)

"..."

[Please be mindful of the climate, it can be quite harsh sometimes.]

Yep, Eden had transmigrated. Also in the worst possible place.

Taking a deep breath, he tried to calm himself down. He needed to survive this. No, he had to survive this.

"System? Can you help me a bit?" He continued.

"There should be a beginner package or something right? You don't expect me to climb all the way down to the ground using my hand and legs? Right?"

[This is a trial of the system. The system will provide you with system points based on the way you handle any situation. However, you can't access them until you complete the trail.]

"So, for now, I get..."

[Absolutely Nothing.]

"... I pretty much guessed that." exhaled Eden.

After circling over the top for a minute. He finally saw one hole where he could put his foot as a foothold to climb below.

Slowly and carefully he placed his leg on the foothold and started to climb below. First the right foot, then slowly using hands to balance himself he placed another foot on the other crack in the rock. Slowly, carefully and steadily he began climbing down. Who knew casual rock climbing learned back when he was a kid would be useful now.

After climbing down for around ten minutes. Eden reached a ledge where he could rest for some minutes. As he looked up from the rock he gave himself a mocking smile after seeing he had climbed down probably seven or so meter.

Just when he was planning to go down below huge rain started pouring down from the sky. He knew that if he stayed there for more time, he won't be able to survive. With rain making every step slippery he would be surprised if he was able to climb down even one meter more before losing the grip and falling to his death.

Grabbing another small cracked place on the stone he placed another foot down below and began climbing down. Slowly and steadily.

Three hours later...

Taking long and deep breath Eden was slowly moving towards the rocky ledge, which he could feel just by looking; if he was able to reach. He could move down below fifty meters, a bit easier. There was almost no place left where he could grab to climb down from the place where he was at. He needed to move sideways.

"Who would give such a harsh trial for puny ant like me?"

Though he was still surprised he was able to last this long. His bloody fingers, he didn't feel anything on them. He didn't understand why he wasn't feeling hungry, but he was grateful for it.

Five hours later...

The cliff below was starting to get a bit slanted and cracked, hence he was able to get some more places to grab...

Several hours later...

Eden couldn't feel his arms. It's been two hours since he started to climb down using only his arms. The mountain slopes started to get tricker and tricker as he climbed below, and now the mountain was slanted inwards at a very odd angle. There was no place to place his foot as a foothold. Hence using hands was only the way.

Several more hours later...

Eden was stuck. There were no footholds to place his foot nor were there any cracks where he could grab hold using hands.

The entire mountain looked like a rod. A huge pole struck on the ground. It's been some time since he reached this place. When he started to climb below he couldn't even see the ground clearly because of the clouds. Now that he had already climbed down here, he couldn't find any path to climb down and the mountain slopes were just that smooth.

The only way he could go down was to slide his way to the next point. But he couldn't see what was there at the end. At the same time, he was slowly losing his grip.

"Is this the end? Again?" Eden questioned himself gloomily.

Finally mustering as much courage as he could, he jumped at the slope.

Three minutes later...

"Is this ever going to end?" This whole time he has been sliding down the slope and at the same time he was gaining speed, which has scaring the shit out of him.

Finally, he started to see the white ground below covered in snow. It actually looked like a real mountain structure. Narrow steep at the top widening ground below. Hence, the only thing strange about the whole mountain was probably the rod-like structure that went all the way above to the sky.

His face started to lose it's color as he quickly started to approach the slanted ground.

Boom...boom...boom.....

Compared to his initial thoughts his landing was a bit soft, but it was still quite violent. After being thrown off all the way to the base of the mountain was finally able to stand stable for four seconds until he finally collapsed on his back.

"Perfect landing."
