"Hey system, you said this was a magical world right?"
[That is true host.]
"So can I use magic."
[Of course, you can host. Though you should have a magic core or magic wand or magic staff. The magic core within a being helps to regulate and cast magic immensely than other external objects. Of course staffs and wands too can be used. Magical objects too are in use. For example, magical swords, magical guns, magical dagger, and so on.]
"So do I have a core?"
[Negative.]
"..."
And it raised his hope without any reason. He entered a shop and started to bargain the price of the Litty with the shop owner.
By the time he got out of the shop, he had learned two new skills. Bargaining and Trading. The more he used it the more he could understand it. And honestly, because he had chosen his identity as merchant these skills were a must, at least in case he ever had to prove himself.
He used to be a mechanic back in his world, hence he did have some skill in trading. If I can, I would probably learn skills related to the blacksmith as well.
"Hey system, If I strike a stone, will I get a new skill related to the blacksmith, I mean blacksmith skill in this world doesn't seem that hard to learn."
[Do you have a hammer?]
"No, why?"
.
.
.
[...]
"Hey, I have around 2500sp right. Can I buy a magic core for myself with that amount?"
[Of course, the best magic core that host can currently house inside himself without any side effects cost 5000SP.]
"Well, that's a bummer. What about blacksmith skills?"
[Blacksmith skill cost 200SP.]
"How come it's so cheap?" Eden was startled. "Can I even make any magical devices after learning this skill?"
.
.
[No.]
"I knew it. In that's the case how much does it cost for magical blacksmith skill."
[Magical blacksmith skill cost 2000sp.]
"Can I make magical devices after learning this skill?"
[Affirmative.]
"Finally, System I wanna buy the skill," replied Eden exited.
[2000sp depleted, please click in the system interface to learn the skill.]
.
.
.
After half an hour...
"If I had known the cost required to make only one magical weapon was enough to make me lose half my money, I wouldn't have bought this damnable skill." Spoke Eden annoyed.
Eden inserted a magical lead inside the hollow magical gun he had just crafted. And just like that, a rechargeable magical gun was finally crafted.
Storing the gun inside the inventory, he walked towards the mercenary guild. Just because he was a merchant didn't mean he couldn't take any mercenary job. As long as he registered himself as a mercenary he could work as both mercenary and merchant.
Just to make sure he won't be captured in case he made some enemies, he bought a dark cape with a hood and fully covered himself, only then he registered himself in a mercenary guild. After paying the registration charge he finally started to look for a job.
In front of the job board...
"Hmm, killing dark lord, nope. Too easy. Kill the dark warlock, warlords, Knights; No, no and no that's just too easy. Let's go down a bit. Destroy the green slime, nope. Defend against the necromancer, boring. Let's see, how about going down even more. Destroy the reptilian-cara horde, sounds cool."
"Reptiles it is." Choosing the mission he left the guild.
.
.
.
After ten minutes, in the way towards forest Origin's end...
"System, what's a reptilian-cara?"
[Reptilian-caras are those hybrid beings that are magically formed by magical mix-ups between humans and reptiles.]
"So, how many of these beings are in a horde?" Eden further questioned.
[A horde consists of a minimum of thirteen to fifteen members. As for maximum numbers, there are no limits. One can only know the exact numbers when they see the horde.]
"Well, no matter how many there are, I shall be the last man standing. Isn't that right system?"
[...]
"System?"
[I cannot provide an answer to that question, before host figures out except the number of reptilian-cara in the horde.]
"..."
-------
In the guild...
"...too easy."
"Hey did that guy just said killing dark lord is too easy?" Bystander 1.
"I think that guy is bluffing!" Bystander 2.
"Yeah, I think that too." Bystander 3.
"Hmm, showing off." Bystander 1. "I Rogue almost fell for that."
"Hmm, I think we should teach that guy a lesson."
"...reptiles it is."
"Reptiles? Did that guy just take a job meant for a group? Does this guy think he's a one-man army or something? Bystander 2. "I don't know if this guy is bluffing or he does have confidence."
"Maybe both!"
"Hey, Rogue. Shall we follow him?" Bystander 3.
"Let him be. We shall know if he is bluffing or not after he returns."
"It's been a year since that job appeared in the guild. How many mercenary groups had lost against these hordes." lamented Bystander 3, "Let's hope that person at least figures out the exact number of crawler in the horde."
