"Yollow." Said a deep and manly voice coming from the woman.
"Don't you mean yellow?"
"That's right! As yellow as the shining sun is this moment." The lady officer joyously jumped back and started twirling with happiness all over her face.
Joaquin was unsettled by the voice not matching the body, but all in all, he felt more threatened by the sentinels than he was by the manly lady. Not liking his position on the ground he stood up to tower over the lady officer once more.
She stopped her dancing around and ran towards him. "I was supposed to meet you earlier and give you your first mystery. But when I found you were out like a light." It pouted.
"You are terrifying and what do you mean by mystery?"
"Ah-ha! You see, you don't have." It stopped talking and looked down. "Magic, Ki, chi, qi, chakra, energy, powers." It mumbled to itself. It then jumped up, almost head-butting, Joaquin on the chin, and then smiled at him. "You don't glow!"
There was an awkward silence brightened only by its' smile, the red glow behind the glasses still disturbed the boy.
"I am going to say this slowly, so you better listen well. Okay?"
It shook its head wildly and anticipated his answer with bright eyes.
"Get me out of here this instant."
"I am sorry but that was unprofessional of me." It said as its smile disappeared and was replaced by a now stern look. On his glasses words started to appear, they were very tiny but thanks to Joaquin's senses he was able to see a few of them.
They consisted of his name and biographical details there were some question marks but he ignored them. Before he had finished reading the letters disappeared.
"I guess I got the right one, red hair, golden eyes, dragon heart, pervert, smart and evil."
"Wait who are you calling a pervert? Besides who are you looking for?"
"I was looking for a person to help me find my heart."
"Your heart?"
"Yes, you see I am a very powerful fighter from ancient times, yada, yada. My soul power is stuck in an insignia, and it is also a key to whatever holds my heart."
"And what makes you think that'll stick out my neck for you? And was ancient times, this planet is not that old." Joaquin turned around and started walking away from it.
"Where are you going? You can't escape my time stop."
"But it will wear off."
"Good point. But are you sure you don't want my offer?"
Joaquin stopped and looked at it. "There doesn't seem to be anything in your offer that benefits me."
"You're just as selfish as I expected. Can't you do it out of the goodness of your heart?" It pouted while shaking its hips.
"I am terrified that sight and I might not sleep for days." Joaquin looked away.
"Sheesh. I have power, isn't that what you need. I have a lot of it."
"I am sorry, but it's still a no for me," Joaquin said as he again started to walk away.
"How about I help you to get powers of your own?"
Joaquin stopped at the sound of the now solemn voice.
"I knew you'd bite it." It smirked. The lady's body dropped to the ground and a black and reddish looking ball of smoke started to surround Joaquin. "It's unnatural and taxing, but in exchange for my soul power and heart, I can help you create your own power. It can be whatever, but that will all depend on you."
"If you want to become my master then forget it."
It burst out laughing. "Your master? Please I don't want to deal with you." Its voice dimed and became raspier. "I have something even funner in mind."
"Funner is not a word genius."
"Oh, you're not intimidated by me at all? Well, that's a shame. Anyway, tomorrow I'll come back for you and start on that power thing because I need my heart very quickly."
"How is your heart still intact?"
"That's a stupid question to ask since I am going to be giving a eunuch powers."
Light winds started to blow into the alley and bit by bit color returned to the world while the red smoke disappeared. The sentinels ushered Joaquin to his room and gave him a pill that knocked him out instantly.
Teacher Vlad called all the senior teachers and the Head of Houses for a meeting at the staffroom.
"Vampire Ren, what are you up to this time?" A blonde-haired, muscular figure said as he towered over the purple head. His face was rigid and a bit beat up with his cheekbones standing out more than anything. His nose was tiny, his lips thin, and teeth large as they ground together after his statement.
Vlad smiled and walked closer to the man's chest, he put his index finger on it and his nail started to grow. It pierced into his shirt and ultimately his chest causing some blood to drip out, "I thought you would want to know that your beloved Lin Xiao was murdered a few minutes ago."
"FUCKING MOSQUITO! WHAT DID YOU SAY?" The bulging man screamed as he raised his arms up and apart, ready to squish the doll man in between his gorilla-like hands. When he brought them together with a loud clap, Vlad phased through them and burst out laughing.
"You amuse pea brain."
"Stop playing Mr. Albion, Mr. Vlad. Did you kill Miss Lin?" The man said as he stared at Vlad from across a huge table. Vlad and Albion were the only once standing up in this cold and misty, it was cold enough to freeze the blood dripping from Albion's body. This icy mist was created by the owner of this voice, Victor Rhine Smoke, Joaquin's chemistry teacher.
Vlad retracted his nail from Albion's chest and because of Vlad's ability the blood returned to his body and the pressure blew the giant back into a wall. Vlad sucked the blood off and his eyes darkened. "Ladies, gentlemen, and food, there is an imposter among us."
All eyes turned to him and various energies filled the room, creation types versus destruction types, the unhealthy merging of opposing binary natures was violent enough to wake up the whole school.
"DON'T JOKE AROUND YOU BLOODY MOSQUITO. WHO AMONG US WILL HAVE THE BALLS TO BETRAY THE PRINCIPAL?"
"Calm down Dr. Long, no one betrayed the principal. If only a teacher was murdered then it must have been a personal dispute among teachers."
"I agree with Mrs. Davies. Teacher Vlad you're the first suspect." Said Albion as he walked out of the wall rubble.
"I might be bloodthirsty but even I know the difference between friends and red dots." Said Vlad as he sat down across Mr. Smoke while joyously sipping on some tea.
"Can you please act like a normal person for once? His character aside, Vlad is not capable of doing something that stupid." Said Mr. Smoke, he looked around the table of teachers. "Miss Lin has been transferred schools and her family called for her overnight, it's not a watertight plan but it should keep the students from worrying and the imposter frustrated."
"NO!" Albion smashed his hands on the table. "Vampire Ren has the ability to precisely pick up and distinguish between binary signatures. If there were assassins in school he would have known and stopped them before they did anything. How can we be sure that he is not the imposter?"
All eyes returned back to Vlad, and he laughed. He stood up and carefully put his cup down. "I have a lesson with a class 1S tomorrow. I don't have time to deal with you. I did my duty and reported a possible ripple in our perfect school." He slowly started to walk away, only to stop at the door and glared back with his eyes glowing again. "By the way. If I do find the imposter, am I allowed to do whatever I want with them?"
"So long as it doesn't disturb the peace of our Heaven's Gate academy." Said Mr. Smoke.
"Lunatics," Vlad whispered as his body started to dissolve into the air.
"Keep your eyes on that monster." This voice did not come from the staffroom.
