Chapter 20 - Chapter 19

The second the door was opened, a bright light flashed. It blinded me and I shielded my eyes with my hand. After the light died down, I lowered my hand to find that we had been transported into the dungeon. I turned around only to see the door was gone and all that was behind us was a rock wall.

Are we trapped? Did I really just get us all killed or something?

"Let's get started," Sora said as she grabbed her bow from her back and held it tight in her right hand. She pulled an arrow from the quiver that was around her waist and loaded. She didn't pull it back, but she had it ready in case a sudden attacker appeared.

Based off of her and the others reaction, this must be a normal thing. That's good, I guess.

Han unsheathed his ax from his hand and Rubellia gripped her staff. I just continued walking.

"K-Kichi," Sora called out to me.

What was with that stutter? Speak normally.

"Huh?"

"Pull your sword out. We never known when a monster will a-"

"What are you, stupid?" I asked, interrupting her.

"H-Huh? Why'd you say that?" She puffed her cheeks and stiffened her body defensively. She must have used harden.

But this is where I lived for over twelve years of my life. I was the king of RPG's and dungeons. That's why I knew we would conquer this dungeon! I have to pass my knowledge down to these Bambies, these NOOBS!

If you played any RPG dungeon crawlers you'd know, you don't fight the enemies on your way to the boss unless it was necessary. You don't want to waste time or any of your items. You also don't go into the dungeon to farm XP, you do that with quests. But over the years many people started doing that, and it took the fun out of it.

You're supposed to farm outside the dungeon so that when you do go into it, you completely annihilate your enemies! That's the true way to play an RPG.

"We don't have to fight them, do we?" I asked, wanting to make sure we didn't have to. If we did there was another solution. Only fight if it's part of the dungeons quest. Surely not every enemy is needed to be killed in order to get to the next floor.

"Um...no, but shouldn't we kill them fo-"

"Heh, idiot woman," I smirked, my gamer side coming out. "You don't understand the concept of a dungeon, do you? All that time we spent outside the dungeon, farming for EXP, that was us prepping. Now, we charge through the dungeon ignoring all enemies until we get to the boss, that way we still have all the items we bought and we arrive with full HP and MP!"

"So...skip all the enemies?" Sora asked with a titled it.

Is she a cat? This girl is super cute! She needs to stop tilting her head like that, I might actually fall for her if she doesn't.

"Looks like you aren't that big of an idiot after a-" A flick to my forehead shut me up. "OW!"

"Stop calling me an idiot, you idiot!" She said. She looked flustered and her face was red.

"S-Sorry...," I apologized.

"An apology won't cut it this time," she crossed her arms.

"What will then?" I asked.

"You...You have to...," she was so angry that she couldn't even think. And her face was red to boot.

"I'll do whatever you want after this dungeon, how about that," I offered.

"Really?!" A sparkle appeared in her eye. I really didn't think that through, did I? "I'm fine with that. I forgive you then."

"Cool, then let's get going." I began walking through the dungeon. Regret from that offer weighed on my mind, so much so that I wanted to cry. But I couldn't let weakness show, and there was no time to cry about it either, we had to clear this dungeon.

The dungeons cave like infrastructure was quite unique. It almost looked man made even, and as we made our way through the cave, we encountered a few monsters. We simply just ran from them, as per my commands.

Just like in some RPG's though, there were some enemies that had to be killed. It was the enemies that guarded the door to the next floor. I let my party finish them. After all, they didn't need my help, not that I could have be of any.

With each new floor came new enemies. The first floor had slimes. The second had goblins. The third had both. The fifth was Draq's. It wasn't until we got to floor nine that a new enemy appeared, one we hadn't encountered in the wild.

"Is that...a minitour!?" The words escaped my mouth before I could stop them. The beast in front of me was at least nine foot in height. Its broad shoulders made it look like a mountain even from up close and with each breath it took, it's nostrils flared like a predator intimidating its prey. In its hand it carried a sword that you'd think was for decoration due to its size.

"Holy sh-'' Han couldn't finish his sentence as the beast slashed down with its large sword. Normally a human would have trouble swinging a sword that size even with both hands, but this beast swung it like it was a stick you could pick up off the ground.

Han managed to dodge and where he once stood was now a crater.

"What're we gonna do?" Rubellia asked. Her voice was shaking, and I could feel the fear emanating off of her.

"Stay calm," I said as I unsheathed my sword.

In all my years of gaming I'd never known of a minitour being in the first dungeon, unless it was the boss. But here it stood, on floor nine. Lucky for me, I've dealt with many of minitours, and they all had a general weakness. Endurance.

Sure, they were powerful, especially amongst the weaker monsters, but due to that fact game developers always gave them nearly the same flaw; In exchange for powerful attacks, they'd have less stamina.

"It's stong, yes. But it doesn't have much endurance. Look at it." I nodded my head to the beast. It was panting heavily and with each huff steam came from its mouth and nostrils. One could say it was panting like a dog. It's obvious that swing took a lot out of it.

"So, all we have to do is dodge its attacks and counter when it's low on endurance?" Sora asked, catching on quick.

I nodded a reply. "In fact, I'll keep it busy," I said as I tossed my sword in the air, letting it twirl before I caught it and bent my knees, getting in me signature stance. "After all, y'all are a higher level than me, you'll do much more damage." The three nodded in agreement, saving me trouble. "When I give the word, that's when you attack."
