"Wrong. Others have blessings similar to this, one's fueled by anger, another by greed."
That means they're OP! What the hell!
"Heh, yeah. Don't ever think highly of yourself. You were chosen by the weakest God to be her chosen hero."
Wait, hero? I'm definitely no hero. And what does she mean by that anyway?
"Yes. You are left handed, meaning you are chosen by one of the Gods to be their hero who will fight for her. The God that chose you has never won. The God of Love."
What do you mean, won? What didn't she win?
"Tsk, figure it out yourself. I'm tired of hearing your voice." With that Yue went silent, no matter how many times I called for her.
Man, what a useless AI system. I thought she was supposed to help me.
After Han got ready we met up with the girls and headed to the guild to do some quests.
The air was warm and the sun was shining bright in the afternoon sky. When we arrived, the quest bored was full of new quests for us to take on.
"Hmm, how about this one?" Rubellia pointed at one. It was a hunting quest asking us to collect three Dire Wolf fangs and twelve Drac tails. I took it and put it in my pocket.
"Any other ones?" I asked looking at the bored. This had become a routine.
We'd all pick a quest we ourselves chose, leaving us with four quests to do instead of just one. Han picked one that required us to gather herbs for a store in the city that was running low on them. The twist was that the herbs could only be found in an old mine. Sora picked one that asked for a group to gather some material for a blacksmith shop. The symbol on the top left caught my eye. A cherry blossom. That was a quest from Vanduzer Smithing.
I, myself, picked a quest that caught my eye. It asked for a group of adventurers to come to Nartuca Village and help kill some slimes. Apparently it was mating season for them and they were overpopulating.
I know what you're thinking. But you're wrong, I didn't chose it because the Elf girls were cute. It's cause...the reward, yeah. The reward was 500 Gold. "Well, let's go," I began walking off. "So the first quest we'll complete is Rubellia's. Then we'll do Han's then Sora's then mine," I gave them the order and no one complained.
"Okay," Sora said as she began taking the lead. Even though I was the leader it was a known that Sora would lead us to our destination. I had no complaints either, so it's a win-win.
We completed Rubellia's quest in no time, collected the materials we needed then headed to the mine where we would find the herbs.
It was lit by weak lanterns that seemed to be dying. The ceiling dripped with water that had built up from condensation and with each drop of water hitting the puddle below it you could hear it echo throughout the cave.
There was a calm atmosphere to the mine, even though it was abandoned. A few monsters would appear here and there, but they were weak and even I could kill the with a simple kick. I was actually flexible in this world, and I have the agility stat to think for that. In my old world I couldn't even touch my toes, but here I can raise my foot above my head and do an axe kick. I felt like a bad ass when I did those.
It's time you know your place!
I ax kicked a goblin at that. I couldn't help but smirk, I felt like that bad ass vampire chick from that one anime. She was actually kind of hot too, the white haired version of her at least.
"Stop thinking lewd things, I can see them," Yue said.
Oh hush, I retorted back.
Oh, a little catch up. Yue told me that she was, indeed, an AI, that only I had. She had always been there, but never spoke to me because she saw no reason to. Kind of immature, but hey, what can you do?
The thing is that she doesn't know the reason why she exists, but if she were to guess, it would most likely be because I wasn't from this world. And since this world works like a game and I was completely new to it and the system, or as we humans call it, the gods, gave me an AI. Kind of like a permanent tutorial.
I still didn't understand it, but there's nothing I could do about that.
We finished the quest and exited the mine. Now, we headed to Sora's quest. The quest required us to fine Smithsanium ore and Loraqorite, whatever the hell those were. I'm assuming they're metals.
"Hmm," I looked at the paper with narrowed eyes. Nope. No idea where we could find these.
"Ah, if you want to find rare ore like that, then we need to head to Fiji Mountain." Han must have sensed my confusion and frustration. "Though it's really hot there. We'll need to head back to town and get Ellie to add heat resistance to our armor."
"Hmm, I see," I replied. "Well then let's head back," Sora took the lead and headed back towards town. Rubellia was next to her and the two chatted amongst each other. I followed behind them with Han behind me.
We made our way to Vanduzer Smithing and explained the situation to Ellie. "Heat resistance? That's easy." She agreed to our request without hesitation. "But, it may take some time, and I may have to make some changes to your actual armor and alter its appearance." Aaaaand there's the problem.
It always has a twist to it. I thought, a sigh escaping my mouth, making everyone aware of my inner frustration.
A gaze kept staring at me, making my skin crawl. I turned my gaze to Ellie, who was looking at me nervously.
"Complement her," Yue said to me. Her voice ringing in my head was really annoying sometimes.
Complement what? There's nothing to complement.
"She did something different with her hair, you idiot." She was right. Ellie was wearing a hairpin, holding her bangs to the side.
If I do that, it would just drag out a conversation. I retaliated.
"Do it! It can increase your affection system with her, Mr. Hero."
She sneered at the end when she called me "Mr. Hero". She always acted so cocky. It was kind of cute though, she was like a tsundere.
Wait, do you want attention too, Yue? I teased jokingly.
Silence followed with no reply. Guess that was a little too far, huh? I'll apologize later. In the mean time I listened to Yue's advice.
"Nice hair pin," I gave a weak complement but I could feel her smile reaching me like a radiant sun.
