Chereads / Daughter of The Snow Godess / Chapter 6 - A bad start

Chapter 6 - A bad start

We were both completely out of breath but I managed to get out, "Are we lost?"

"No, we just arrived." He said pointing to an arch way that said Camp Red Arrow.

We were here.

~~~~~~~
'We are really here. Wow.' I thought.
Evan smiled at the hint of amusement in my face, but it soon faded as if he remembered something.
"What is it?" I asked gently.
"Nothing, lets just try to get you settled in."
Weirdly enough, I was starting to get excited. 10 minutes ago I wanted nothing to do with this life, but now I was kinda anxious to learn about it.
We walked through the arch way and man was it a sight to see.
Right away, I saw girls and boys dressed in armor walking around like heroes with an insane amount of courage on their face. I saw archers holding there bows ready to fire at their targets. There were kids as young as 8 and as old as 18.
A girl noticed us standing in front of the entry and starting walking towards us. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her armor. 'I wonder if I would look that good in armor,' I thought.
When she was only a few meters away, she dropped the cup in her hand and it spilt everywhere. The look of terror on her face confused me. 'Was there something on me.' I started looking around my body but it seemed as if nothing was there.
The girl started whimpering and I took a step forward trying to comfort her. She screamed at my gesture which caught the attention of many other of the campers.
They all began circling around me with their jaws on the ground, many of them drawing their weapons.
"Oh great!" Evan muttered.
"Why are they looking at us like that? Do we look weird?" I asked.
I looked around us checking if there was a monster near by. But there was nothing. Everyone looked straight at me.
"They are looking at you and you are fine." He told me.
Evan cleared his throat and began his announcement, "I know you all are confused on why it looks like Khione has entered our camp. Well, I would like you all to know that this isn't her. It is her daughter."
I heard multiple sighs of relief in the crowd and many of kids with weapons backed down.
'Khione, that was my mother. Why couldn't Evan just tell me that when we were driving in the car?' I thought.
Even though Evan clarified everything, looks of anger were shot to me as if I did something wrong.
The crowd began to break up until one guy remained. He had a mischievous look on his face. Me and Evan walked past him as we tried to make way to the main building of the camp.
That wasn't exactly the entrance I expected, but at least I didn't get attacked. Most of the kids looked so angry at me like they wanted me 6 feet under.
Before I could take a breath, the boy grabbed my hand pulled me back and pushed me to the ground. As he towered over me, he took his enormous right hand and wrapped it around my neck so I couldn't breathe.
'I spoke to soon.' I thought.
Evan tried to pull him off but the teenager was to big and buff. I started to suffocate and felt my life slipping away from me.
'I am so young to die! I love you dad, more than life itself and I hope you the best life!' Don't miss me too much and make sure to smile again!' I thought thinking it was the last thing I would ever think of.
I knew I was dead. I was wondering about how much life I could have lived.
Then a miracle happened. A ball of fire began blazing at the guy and he bursted into flames. He started screaming and yelling releasing the grip of my neck.
I gasped for air while Evan hovered over me to make sure I was okay. When I regained some strength, I sat up and saw a silhouette of a guy who was summoning fire from his hand.
The fire faded away and so did my vision. I started to lose consciousness until everything went black.
