Looking at the two people, Jenny slowly turned around and practically escaped back to her room. Being lonely was not something that crossed her mind, until now. She sat down on the bed in her room and sighed.
Anne is already grown up and she is starting to take interest to her surrounding. Earlier or later she won't need her. What should she do with her free time then? She stood up and opened one of the books about travelling, but then threw it away.
Travelling? Where to travel in the zombie apocalypse? Is she crazy or what? She just shrugged and went to her table where she sharpened her weapons. Well sharpened weapons give her more security.
In the living room, the two people stared at each other for a while, but then like nothing happened, they started talking. Sitting close together they spoke about the other world and their plans.
''We should see that land and check the islands. I think the portal will go further as I travel further as well. I tried thinking about the portal going to a certain point, but unfortunately, no matter how much imagined it, it is always open at John's garden.'' Anne was considering a few things.
''First, we must find out if his garden is the only place you can summon the portal, or is it possible for you to summon the portal in different places as well.'' Fabius Maximus was worried that something might happen to her in case the gate can't be close to her.
''You are coming with me or do you plan to stay here and destroy covens?'' She was curious about his plans. Of course, she wanted him to go with her, but if he had other plans...
He poked her arm lightly. ''Do you think I will let you travel the unknown world all by yourself? And no, your mother doesn't count like anything that could make it safer. She is a walking magnet for strange events.''
She poked him back. ''Who is actually a magnet for strange events? It's you, not her. Think only about your cousin and all those women. Who knows what will happen if you come with me to that world? What if the next thing is some powerful princess trying to make you her husband? That kind of situation is clearly possible.''
He incredulously looked at her serious expression and started laughing. ''What are you jealous about?''
Anne became quiet. He was right. What right does she have in this kind of situation to become jealous?
''You are right. What was I thinking? It is not like you to belong to me. Anyway, let's plan what we will do when we start travelling. You will need some normal clothes. We all will need some normal clothes, if we want to look like people from that world.'' She completely disregarded his deep eyes and started planning.
''Anne, you can't avoid me forever, you know that, right?'' Fabius Maximus straightforwardly looked at her and smiled brightly.
Anne had to admit his smiles were amazing even tho they were rare. Whenever he does this, she would get dazed for a moment or two and then realize that her heart stopped beating for a moment.
''Fabius, I...'' But he put a finger on her lips and shook his head.
''Anne, there are many things to consider in both worlds. I understand that. Our feelings can't be considered simple. I like you and I can feel that you like me as well. There are many things I need to take care of before we can talk deeper. But don't run away from me.'' His voice was calm at first but it turned smooth and... sexy after that.
Her life was mostly calm as she avoided most people. People gave her a sense of disgust and mistrust. But seeing this man comfortably sitting right next to her and not feeling those emotions, was an amazing feat. Comfortable. Yes, that was the first emotion she had next to him. She could trust him too from start on.
With a slow motion she rose her hand and stroked his beard. "I really do not like people having too much hair on their bodies. But your beard is so soft."
Her words meant that she understood and at the same time was willing to get closer to him. With a soft motion, she stroked his cheeks and a small smile appeared on her lips, as she held his beard with both hands.
"Fabius, if you let some wild woman touch your body again, do not even try talking to me. I'll ban you for days or even weeks." Her eyes dangerously narrowed and became a bit darker. The pink in her eyes became dark and almost red, making it look scary.
But he was not afraid. With puppy eyes, he pouted slightly. "What can I do? You even push them my way, so mean!"
Anne nodded. "Fine, I won't do it again. But stop attracting them."
Fabius Maximus rolled his eyes. "I dislike all of those dirty things. Only you are in my eyes."
"I had boyfriends before you." Anne stood up to prepare tea for herself, checking if his emotions would change after such a statement. Didn't he say he hated dirty people? If something happens will he stop liking her or change his mind?
Fabius Maximus just shrugged. He lived in a society that was not very traditional, even after his time. He found the people's actions very lax at that time, but as time passed he realized that many things didn't matter.
Scarlet was maybe untouched by a man, but he could feel the emotions she had. Greed, lust, annoyance, fear, anger and many more were hidden behind the mask of the innocence she claimed to have.
To him, the feeling that person gives off was more important than bodily matters. Anne was naughty and mischievous. She was a born killer but she didn't kill for fun. Neither she had emotions to destroy even tho she already spoke about killing this and that. He didn't care about other things than just her being true to herself and the human emotions in her.
In the end, she always considered situations and matters. She could have killed his cousin that day easily, but she considered him. How foolish. And cute at the same time...
