Anne left with a promise to be back the next day and then appeared again in front of a few villagers, that almost fainted in fear. ''How did you come here?''
She just shook her head and pointed at the biggest house in the village. ''Is Melina at home?''
They nodded and saw Anne and Jenny rushing away. ''What was that about? How did they come in?''
Melina stood in front of her house and played with children when she saw Jenny and Anne coming in. ''How...?'' It was impossible, she knew it certainly.
''Hello, Melina. there is something we must ask you and your villagers.'' Anne smiled at her, while Melina looked at Jenny that nodded.
''Please trust my daughter. There is a reason we came here.'' She was happy that Anne brought her to this place.
High in the mountains, they met one original tribe of people, that no one else met before. They would sneakily go down to the city and get information about the outside world, then bring it back. But when this apocalypse started, they closed the main entrance and didn't go anymore out. Or let anyone in.
Melina blew into a huge horn and suddenly a few hundreds of people rushed from all corners of the mountain towards them and more seem to arrive behind them. A crowd looked at the two visitors with reluctance and rejection written all over their faces.
Melina sighed. ''These two are our friends.''
One younger man snorted. ''Right.'' He didn't trust anyone as he saw with his own eyes many bad things happening in the 'outside world'.
Anne stepped forward and looked at him. ''I am sure you saw many bad things happening outside. But now, it's even worse.''
The people started clamouring until Melina didn't raise her hand and they stopped. ''Let her continue.''
''I fear God's punished humans with a strange sickness, where they became soules corpses, that eat living ones.'' Anne calmly explained and saw their frightened expressions. ''This place is well hidden. I will try to clean the neighbourhood together with mom and one more person. So your people can live comfortably. But that is not why I came here.''
The young man mumbled. ''Like three people can kill all the demons.''
She ignored his words and continued. ''Now many parts of the planet are without humans and a lot of food will be wasted. As this year was very hard for many parts of the world, I wanted to ask if there is something your tribe might need, that you couldn't plant yourself?''
Melina sighed. ''This was the hottest year ever. Most of our plants died. We need it all.''
Anne looked around and saw that even bushes were completely dry, even tho it should be rainy or even close to the winter season. ''I understand. Then let's do it this way. Do you want to go somewhere else, all of you or do you want to take food and bring it here?''
Melina was wondering about that question. ''I do not understand.''
''Gather as many people as you can, that want to help to harvest the food and I will transport them to the fields.'' Anne just calmly explained under her astonished eyes.
''H...how?'' Melina was actually a complete atheist, so she was not even considering that kind of God's thingies Anne was talking about, but let it slide, as some people in her tribe believed.
''You know about portals in space?'' Anne tried to explain from in a scientific way, as she already knew about Melina's mistrust into metaphysics.
''Yes. Wait, what? You found a way?'' Melina's eyes shone with a happy light.
''Well, yes and no. I am the one that is passing through the portals. Somehow portals are connected to me. Does that makes sense?'' She blinked her big eyes cutely and made Melina chuckle.
''Fine, fine. I believe you. Everyone has a different magnetic field. Yours is just stronger than ours, say it this way.'' Melina just tried to explain it her way. Anne didn't care how she will take, it as long as she believes it.
''I am not sure, but your guess might be right.'' Anne smiled at her. ''Now we need as many volunteers as possible, that want to gather food.''
Melina turned to her people and already a bunch of them that had stepped forward. They might not belive strangers, but believed Melina's wisdom. Melina smiled at them and then looked at Anne and Jenny that connected hands.
Jenny held her hand towards Melina and explained. ''Anne will wait until the last one connects its self to the other and then she will transport everyone to the potato fields in the west. They are empty.''
They already checked this place and saw no human or animal nearby, far and wide.
Anne closed her eyes and heard Jenny saying. ''Ready...''
Suddenly in front of everyone, a couple of hundreds of people just disappeared and didn't come back for a long time.
Evening came and Anne appeared with a bunch of people, holding huge bags filled with potatoes on their back. Then she disappeared and the people just pushed everyone aside and made space.
Anne appeared with the whole mountain of bags and smiled at Melina. ''Tomorrow we will gather cabbages.''
''Those other tribes...'' Melina was curious.
''They are from other parts of the world. That much food can't be gathered only by one tribe. So I took other tribes there as well. And did you see... so much is left.'' Anne smiled and patted her hand.
''What will happen to that food.'' Melina was already happy about the potatoes, that was enough for her tribe for almost a year. But got the promise form Anne to be able to send them to gather other food as well.
''I will go to cities and take groups of people there, so they can gather for themselves. I am sure there will be enough, that do not mind gathering it.'' She smiled at Melina and then waved her hand. ''In the morning wait for me here. Next is cabbage...''
Under Melina's intelligent eyes, Anne disappeared and she looked at the food she dug out with her own two hands. ''As it seems there are more things that I can't comprehend. Such a good human, indeed. Anne...''
