Fabius Maximus waited for her answer but saw her just being silent and looking at the nearby bushes.
"Come out, we will not harm you." Jenny smiled kindly and they saw a woman coming towards them.
Her long red hair was dirty and messy. Her dress probably saw better days as it lost its original colour and had a strange greyish yellow colour. But her eyes were bright red and her smile showed two rows of white teeth.
"Hello, I'm Nokla." She politely bowed in front of them.
Anne stepped back as she saw a whole a cloud of dust appearing around Nokla. Dirty...
Fabius Maximus had a hard time keeping his face straight as he saw Anne's expression. Her literal hatred towards the nasty dirt was so obvious. He coughed as he couldn't hide it much longer.
Jenny sighed as she saw the girl being dirty and looked at Anne. "Bring us back home quickly, so I can make her change her clothes. It is uncomfortable to look at."
Anne held her hand but stepped a bit further away as Jenny opened her other hand. "Come with me, child. You can't go around like that."
Nokla shrugged. She for lived so long that she forgot what the fear is. With a swift move, she connected to Jenny and suddenly appeared in a strange place.
While she was dragged by Jenny to a nearby bathroom, Anne already came back and sighed. "Let's continue. Mom probably wants to talk to her."
She already saw the expression on Jenny's face and knew that she wanted to be alone with Nokla.
Fabius Maximus pressed his lips. "I have been killing her kind for centuries and she is inviting her in her home for tea, or maybe a few pounds of blood?"
Jenny was human. And alone with a vampire.
Anne rolled her eyes."Do you think a vampire can kill mom?"
He became silent. Since he met Jenny he saw her as a weak mischievous human. But thinking about it, in all those fights so far, she was even never scratched. No, she was never even touched.
John saw his expression and looked at a nearby flower and pointed at it. "Jenny is like a rose. She is beautiful with colours, filled with honey and has a soft core. But whoever tries to harm her, she would show her long pointy needles. So far I never saw her angry, but I fear if she gets furious, you better leave her in peace."
Fabius Maximus had to admit that John was right. Actually, since she came out of her room she was still ignoring him. He pouted and looked at Anne. "It has been two weeks. She is still angry?"
Anne chuckled. " That is because she cared about you. If she didn't care, she wouldn't be that pissed off. I have no idea what you did or said to her, but whatever it is, you are doomed to wait."
Jenny didn't want to tell her and Fabius Maximus denied to speak about it as well, so she could only sigh and see these two stubborn people stare at each other.
Fabius Maximus wanted to explain, but Jenny didn't want to hear anything. Its been two weeks now and all she could do is just shake her head at the two people.
"Mom is now nervous. We have to consider a few things. To you many things mean little, but she is my mom." Anne started walking. Jenny told her to move on and stop if she finds some amazing spot. Or just take a picture.
Anne knew that Jenny was worried about upcoming changes in seasons. Strangely, here there was not a big change. Only once the rain fell and that's it.
While the three people slowly walked down the path between beautiful trees, Jenny sat near the window with Nokla and waited for her to start.
She was one of those people that had quite good nerves so she just calmly waited and drank her tea.
Finally, Nokla gave up. "Fine. Ask. I never saw immortal like you. I'm curious. How can you be mortal and immortal as well?"
''That is not your biggest problem now. My past and the current situation is something not even I can make any change. Anyway, you have as I said before a big problem.'' Jenny stood up and poured some tea for her as well. ''Try this. I am trying to make new things to replenish the energy of creatures that need it.''
Nokla scrunched her nose as she stared at the gree brew that had a funky smell. ''That looks AND smells nasty.''
Jenny had to laugh. ''Of course. It is plant-based. If you could help me with this, we could find something that could stop the growing vampire population in my world going hungry. If they continue changing vampires, soo there won't be any humans and they will die of starvation. How crazy are they?''
Now was a zombie apocalypse and humans were left only a handful and in batches. If they continue growing vampire population...
Nokla furrowed her eyebrows. ''What are you talking bout? There is no way you can become a vampire where I came from.''
Jenny froze as she heard her words. ''Here is your kind like a virus. They bite a human and after while the thing in their saliva changes human into a vampire. There are only few pure borns in our world.''
Suddenly many things happened at the same time. Nokla turned her head around and her eyes became red as she jumped right out the open window, while Jenny jumped to get her gun that was on the nearby table.
A fight could be heard from the streets and when she finally arrived, Nokla stood and hissed at the corner of the street. ''Come out, or should I drag you out?''
Jenny calmly stood next to her and saw an old man coming out with silvery grey eyes and starting at the two of them in fear. ''Pureblood and mix between demon and eternal being. What is going on? How is this even possible?''
Nokla's eyes turned black and she chuckled. ''You presumptuous pup. You dare to speak to me without bowing. As it seems we need to make you young pup remember old rules...''
Jenny just turned around and went to her apartment where she stood next to the window and watched the fight of the century.
