She froze and looked up at him. Coldness, pure coldness.
''Yes, Miriam, I do remember you. Faintly, but I remember you. But, the way I remember you, you can't be a normal human. Isn't it right?'' His voice seeped of poison and sarcasm.
He did indeed remembered enough. Miriam was his own bloodline. His uncle's only daughter. For him, Miriam was the most favourite little girl. She was like his sister.
He was ordered to fight the enemy but he hated fighting. With many machinations, he conquered the army and came back to find his beloved cousin dead. Bitten to death by some kind of animal. In fury he rose the army to decimate all deadly creatures in the surroundings, to find out that the real perpetrators were more than what he thought.
He fought them and won. But when he killed their queen, they rose every possible magician and mixed a new spell only for him. Never to die until eternity.
But a century later he found out that most of those that were bitten came back to life at the first full moon and became monsters themselves. He looked through the window and smirked. ''You are a daywalker? Nice. Then let me decrease some of your kind.''
He turned around and went to get his swords, while Miriam stared at his back in grief. ''I had to handle all kinds of torturous things to become a daywalker. Only because I wanted to be with him again. Why can't he accept my existence or his own?''
Jenny moved forward and her eyes suddenly turned black. ''You were doomed to die many centuries ago. But it was actually your choice to become like this? Do you know what was the real reason he became an ice-cold brick of stone?''
Miriam shook her head and wanted to ask when she saw Fabius rushing out of the room with huge swords and sprinted away. ''Let's chat another time.''
''Another time I will kill you myself!!!'' Fabius roared in anger as he saw her jumping out of the window. He knew nothing will happen to her even if she falls from a high place. Not even a broken bone or scratches will happen to these monsters.
When he turned his head he saw Anne staring at the window in awe with a big smile and suddenly had a bad a premonition. ''Don't you even dare to become one of those man-eating creatures!''
Anne just smirked and went inside, not even commenting at his screams and yells. She even started humming while looking at Jenny. ''I was right... Hehehehe. I knew it.''
Jenny sighed. She wanted to keep that world far away from her. But now that she knows they exist she will have to explain many things. Or not yet.
''Anne, I know your wish. But can't we wait for a while for that? There are much more things for you to experience. Remember what she said? She went through a huge amount of pain to become daywalker. That is number one, number two you would probably have to kill as they drink blood only from living creatures. Think about your ability to inhale zombie energy. Aren't you somehow a bit like these creatures, but vegan-ish?'' Jenny was hoping that Anne would consider other options first before jumping straight into this kind of life.
Anne stared at her and smiled. ''I know mom. I have no plan to become a real vampire, at least not at the moment. There are many things to do and see before I make a permanent choice. Until then I will use what I can to live the life I have been given the way I want it. And I need those seeds now. If I become a vampire I won't be able to see all the plants bloom in John's garden and not be able to see that world. I am truly curious. Atlantis, mom. I really want to see Atlantis.''
Even tho Fabius wanted to scream in fury at her words and even the mentioning of John brought his blood to boil. But finally, he calmed down. He would even prefer her to contact John more often than to be here and become that thing. He lost his sister to those people. If she becomes one he might really destroy the whole Earth...
Anne saw his dark expression and came close to him. Standing straight in front of him she felt tiny. She was already over a head taller than her own mother but this guy is seriously tall.
She waved her hand for him to come closer and when he complied without thinking she grabbed his cheeks and chuckled. ''How cute... And your beard is strangely soft, like silk. Nice.''
Anne softly scratched under his beard and saw him getting relaxed and almost purring like a cat, while he relaxed in bliss. In wonder, she saw his face quite close to her and as she stared at his cute expression in wonder, he opened his eyes and quickly approached her face.
She didn't even have the time and he kissed her nose and turned around while laughing haughtily and escaping back to his room.
Jenny saw Anne standing there frozen in surprise and laughed. ''He is cute, isn't he?''
Anne blinked, rubbed her nose and started laughing. He was indeed cute when he pretended to be a strong man and was just a fluffy rabbit trying to escape her clutches. She laughed and knocked on his door.
''Let's go get those seeds. After that, we can go and hunt your monsters.'' But before she could say more she saw his almost angry face.
He was so happy to have stolen that kiss that he couldn't even get really angry at her. ''You go take the seeds'... and plant them... and then water them... and... and...'' But thinking about her spending too much time with John, made him sigh. ''...and then you come back here. Wait here. Ok?''
Anne saw his complicated and jealous expression and just shrugged while a happy smile emerged in the corners of her lips. ''Ok.'' She will do as he said. They are just starting and she plans to get him under her claws and slowly, very slowly he will be hers...
