Listening to her calm words and her heavy expression they were shocked. Somehow they knew her child was a bit different, as she avoided most people and loved to walk the streets, only when not many people were outside. But to have such a gift...
"I don't know will you, or can you even believe me. Her visions are never complete. Just bits and pieces of the unfinished picture. She could see the date and it was mid of January next year when the devastation was already immense. But when, how and where it will start... she is not sure."
Jenny stood and sighed as she looked at the twins. "I like children, but can't have no other as it was my fate to gain such an amazing child. Because I'm a mother in the first place, I told you this. I'll be back later. Please prepare all the papers to complete the sale. I'll send the money right after that." She didn't want to explain too much. People will, or will not choose to prepare. Telling them was already enough.
They followed her to the door and saw her walking right across and just entering, not even turning again towards them.
Anne was sitting in the living room and skipping channels. "You told them."
"Uhm. I did, what they plan after that is not my problem." Anne looked at her mother, that already had a phone in her hand and almost chocked on a glass of water, as she heard about the immense amount she asked the boss to give her.
And he accepted it. Looking at Jenny's face she was happy even with the loan conditions and soon after a sound of the message could be heard on her phone.
"Nice. He is fast. Directly whole sum on my account. Sweety, I'll be right back. Let me go over and do the contracts." Anne just nodded, still completely dazed. What was this situation?
Her mother was someone who would never get herself into such a horrible mess. Deep in her heart, she now prayed that her prediction is not just a mere nightmare, or her mother will have to pay her debts for the next two or three decades. Or longer?
Days passed and as soon as the other apartment was free, her mother got busy. There were so many things to consider as they changed the whole upper floor. Anne commented on her ideas about how to change everything and Jenny just accepted it all, as usual. "Mother, it's just an idea. I'm sure you have..."
But Jenny opened her paper that held her own ideas and showed it. It was almost the same as hers.
"Sometimes I feel you can read my mind..." It's kind of creepy.
"We are always together. One day, when you meet that special one, if he loves you he will know as well how you feel or what you think after a while. It is a special connection. And no, I can not read your mind." Jenny chuckled as she saw her strange expression.
"I am not thinking about that. How the hell should I meet someone who likes similar things that I do?" Anne was just someone who disliked people.
Jenny suddenly smiled brightly. "Go out. Have fun. Who knows? If you do that, there is a chance you meet someone who is similar to you."
Anne just gave up. "Only if he is such a creature just like me."
"You are my beautiful, most wonderful, fluffy child. Creature... tsk tsk, you ain't a vampire, even if you wouldn't mind." She already knew her big wish, but some things just don't fit. "You would be first vegan vampire tho. Think about it, if you don't eat human blood you would have to kill animals. Then all these years you were living as a vegan and not eating meat would be... wasted?''
Hearing her words Anne got astonished. Yes, vampires need blood to survive and she was already now unwilling to harm living beings, how will she survive? So Vampirism is not an option... sigh.
On the other side of town, a man opened his red eyes and smiled evilly. "Soon it is time to harvest. Wake up, my beautiful children!"
But no answer could be heard. He slowly crawled out his hole, that was his resting place for such a long time and was baffled by the sight that opened in front of his eyes.
A long howl resonated in the underground tomb, as he stared at the dried bones of thousands of his children. All of them were gathered only in one place and burned to death.
"How bothersome. One more is alive?" A deep voice came from a sleeping statue nearby.
The moon shone over a seemingly sleeping warrior in ancient clothing. His long white hair and beard were dirtied by the dust but it didn't bother him at all.
"Did you kill my children?" A deep growl came out of the man as he slowly lowered his body to jump.
"I'll answer you if you tell me just one thing? Are you the last one? If I kill you can I finally lay down and sleep?" He slowly opened his silvery eyes and stared at the man in a cowboy outfit with despising smile.
"No, there are more of us out there. Hahaha, you must be the cursed one? You will never die, even if we are long gone, you will still be alive, alone for eternity." The man opened his mouth and the whole row of big teeth could be seen. "The worst for you is... I am pure-blooded. You can't kill me."
"Oh? And what can stop me? Rules? After your pack cursed me, all I do is to destroy you, one by one. So there are more of your kind out there... At least I can play with you all for a while. Now its time for your damnation..." His silvery eyes turned completely black and he jumped at the terrified creature...
