"Congratulations, my child." Jenny could feel real sincerity in her words. Suddenly she started laughing. "It seems you have the natural power to destroy zombies. I just had an idea...''
Anne knew her mother had something big in her mind and knew it will be dangerous for her as her eyes had a strange shine.
"Mom... what kind of crazy idea do you have now?" Not many knew that Jenny has a thing for exciting things. And this situation made her live fully to her potential.
"Oh... nothing big... hehehehe." Jenny chuckled while staring and her with happiness.
"Mother..." But Anne knew that this woman just started having fun so she let her. "Fine... just tell me what is going on?"
Like there was no huge problem in the world, the two women casually walked through the streets and wherever they appeared, the zombies would do all they could to hide.
They would choose buildings where they heard a sound and would casually clean the buildings from those creatures. After that, as nothing happened, close their main doors. Slowly they cleaned the whole quart and went back home.
They entered the underground passage first and then went to the secret door they found out about when they bought a house and cleaned everything around it. Then went up to their apartment as if nothing happened.
Anne was sitting on her chaise lounge when Jenny joined her with a tea. Jenny could see that her cheeks were strangely rosy and wondered. "Are you sick?"
"No, I feel... full. Like when I eat a full meal and should sleep." She yawned heartily and just stretched and rose her feet up, to lean more comfortably.
Jenny sat down as well at her own chaise lounge next to the window and nodded. "At least those people are not stupid."
As the streets were clean at this moment, people rushed to raid a few nearby stores for supplies but of course, there are always those that are troublesome.
A man and a woman started hitting a few young children and grabbing food out of their hands, then running away, leaving the children completely without anything. Others didn't even try to intervene, leaving them completely alone.
"Anne, sorry to ask you..." Jenny might be a killer in her heart but she was not a completely heartless person.
"No problem. I didn't take a shower yet. I'll help kids." She just went out in training suit that she had on and quickly rushed out of the building, lightly jumped over the wall and slowly approached the two crying children.
Looking at them she sighed. The kids were literally tiny. The boy was probably four or five while his older sister was not more than eight.
"Kids, where are your parents?" She squatted down and looked at them with a big warm smile.
"Pops died last year and mom had a fever for already a few days and we just wanted to bring some good food so she can get healthier. Those people..." The girl shook as she remembered everything.
"Don't worry, come with me." She picked up the boy and looked at the people inside staring at her with displeasure. "If you say just one word, I'll kill you."
Her words and her eyes matched, as those inside the store could literally feel killing intent seeping directly out of her. They somehow knew that she really would do that.
Anne just calmly went in and got a few black trash bags first. Then she slowly went to get baby food and filled one bag and left it on the side. Then she calmly filled bags with other things. ignoring their expressions completely.
In the end, she looked at the dozen bags lying there, picked up a bunch of bags with each hand and went out, while people's mouths literally dropped to the floor.
Taking two levels with those huge bags filled with food and beverages, she went trough the leaned door and exhaled as she saw a woman sleeping on the bed while no zombie was around.
With slow steps, she let everything in the middle of the living room and approached the woman.
Her pale face and quick breaths showed that she was having unruly dreams and sighed. Putting her hand on her forehead she could feel her head is burning hot. "Kids, stay here and close the doors until I come back. Do not open to anyone else. OK?"
The two kids just nodded. Anne rushed to a nearby pharmacy and just pried open the door with pure force. Somehow she felt extremely invigorated and strong. And she knew it had something to do with her touching those zombies. Zombie vampire... Zompire.
She chuckled as she searched for all kinds of medicine that could be used in that household. Fever reducer, antivirus pills, kids supplements, vitamins, insect repellants...
Looking at huge a black bag filled with all kind of medicine again, Anne sighed. She took a few disinfectants as well and sprayed her gloves and hands. Right after that, she felt... cleaner.
Even tho she somehow never got sick in her life she was quite germophobic.
Looking at more and more people coming out she shook her head. If they only knew that this is just peace before a storm. Suddenly a young burly man rushed towards her with a scary face and screamed already in advance. ''Give me that!"
Anne calmly shook her head. "It's not food, it's medicine."
"I don't care, I want it." The man reached for the bag but suddenly found himself weightlessly flying in the air, while his hands flapped around like a featherless bird.
The moment he slammed on the nearby wall and slid down like a slug, everyone stopped in their movements and looked at her. She rose her eyebrows and smiled coldly.
"What? Wanna defend him?"
They just scurried away and no one even looked again at him again, as they rushed to get what they could. Anne just calmly proceeded towards the apartment, where the two kids were and cursed as she saw doors open. Looking at the hinges she knew someone came in with force.
She dropped the bag and her eyes became icy, as she saw the house in a mess. With pressed lips, she slowly opened the door towards the room, as she heard unusual sounds inside and froze...
