Axel spent the following year training under his master, Wilson. Meeting him weekly to train his martial arts with his sword. When he was home he studied the ritual of the Seven Chaos Gates. And as well as training his mind for his future use of magic. His wyvern grew another foot as he kept it unbound from the rune on his shoulder. He made sure to have it guard his mother while he slept or was away training. Wilson also gave Axel a scroll of each element for him to train on. Axel studied them relentlessly for a week each, mastering the basic use of each element.
The war finished 4 months ago with the side his nation supporting, earned its victory with great pride. But that wont stop future turmoil in the vast region. Axel felt relief when his mother rejoiced knowing that her past husband's sacrifices weren't in vain. Stories came of Chris's unusual spark of power before his untimely death reached his family. The Jarl noticed a connection between the events in the stories of Chris and his son Axel.
The region that Axel lived in had a name hard to pronounce, so through the victory of the nation it was renamed to Urr. That redeclared the region's status and freedom under the high king of the nation, Unslog. The high king anounce to his nation that an emperor over 5 nations was to be announced for the first time in their history.
Axel was in the training room alone and practiced combining his martial arts techniques with his basic magic abilities. Making sure he had a strong battle prowess for his first mission. Wilson entered the room and watched his young pupil improve and combine his knowledge.
"Here is the next set of scrolls. In exchange you return the last set to me." Axel bowed to his master and exchange the scrolls with his master. "When is my first hunt going to happen?" Axel implied as he took the new set. Wilson, slightly irritated, Smacked the top of his head. "The lands are too dangerous for you."
As time passed, Axel aged to 10. The process of the new scrolls to develope in his memory and habits took no time. He visited his mother more frequently as her health started to decline slowly due to an unknown disease. His wyvern grew to six feet in length and had a wingspan of eight feet. Axel looked at his mother as she prepared a meal for the 2 of them.
He wondered what this disease was. He rushed to the training room after hours hoping to find his master. "Master! I need your insight!" Wilson walked out with a bottle of fine wine in hand. "What is it my pupil?" Axel bowed and proceeded to tell him about his mother and her condition. Wilson put down the bottle. "Show me where you 2 live." As Axel led the way, he found his mother collapsed on the floor, coughing. Wilson pushed axel out of the way and summoned his dryad. Without a moments notice, the dryad started to perform healing spells on her. "Go study the ritual in your room. I'll be up there momentarily." Axel went to his room and studied as he was told.
An hour later, his mother and master walked in. "She is cured my pupil. We are lucky that this unworldly disease was weak to magic. Train your wyvern for the following month, I must look into this and see what the cause was." He then approached him and whispered, "When we meet, we will do the ritual. Dont inform your mother for she will worry and interupt it which could end your future." Axel nooded and embraced his mom after recieving his master's instructions. He noticed that his mother didn't flinch to his hugs anymore. Rage grew in his heart as he felt powerless. He knew someone had to be behind his mothers suffering. He then went to rest after a meal with Elane.
The next morning, Axel found his wyvern sleeping beside his mothers bed. He whispered to it, making it wake up. He and his companion went to the courtyard where he found a familiar face and her new companion. Adeline waved to Axel before freezing in place as she saw his companion, Clove. The two met on occasion when they both weren't training.
Adeline discovered her magical elements, which were earth and water. Her companion was a flame atronach named Kindred. She donned her rune for it on her hand. Her hair was white like snow and wore her family colors, Green and silver. She was skinny and pale like Axel. Except for the fact that Axel showed early signs of muscle growth.
Adeline has never seen Clove since it was 2 feet long. So its immense growth surprized her. Axel mounted Clove. "Want to train our companions together?" Adeline nodded with excitement before showing a stern face as she ordered Kindred to ready itself.
Axel gave a mental command to Clove, 'sky scales!' In an instant Cloves scales turned from their usual birth pattern to match the sky above and took off making them a hard target. Adeline and her companion shot magic bolts of water, rock and flame in the air everytime they saw a glympse of Axel. Axel casted a light spell to blind his friend as clove dived, letting out a breath of water at Adeline.
They practiced like this for a month using different tactics, making sure to only use basic spells to not harm eachother. On the last day, Axel saw some improvement with the use of his and Clove's battle tactics.
"Thanks for the help Adeline. Hopefully we can train more soon." As Axel left the courtyard for his housing, he took Clove back in his rune for the first time since he summoned it. He went to his mother and explained that he will be gone for a couple weeks for training purposes with his master. Elane nodded. "Be careful and come straight home afterwards." Axel nodded and went to rest.
The next day, Axel met his master in the courtyard. He greeted him a bow as his master yawned. "Come. Its time to unlock your potential."
