As Axel met his master, the adrenalin rush he felt from the fight wore off. He suddenly fell to the side as his wyvern, Clove used its wing to support him. "Use your companion to travel. its going to be a long journey back. its best to stay off of your leg till we are back. You did good, my pupil," Wilson said as he saw Axel's wyvern support him with its wing. Clove laid low to the ground so Axel could mount it with ease. Thanks to the months of practice that Axel and Clove had, Axel could ride Clove without much struggle.
Axel mentally commanded Clove to fly steady and slow so his injuries wouldn't hinder him as much. Wilson, on the other hand used his Dryad for travel and looked like he was the king of his own world. Axel couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at his master. Axel understood why he wasnt healed on the spot because of all the dangers of the wilds around them. Even in an open field, there can be dangers that show up where there wasnt any before. Clove was scanning the area for any potential dangers as it carried Axel. Every half hour or so, Axel would have Clove increase its altitude to do a larger scan of the area just make sure that there were no dangers in their planned path.
The trip took 3 times as long to get back. The slow pace was easy on Axel as he rode Clove due to his injuries. The only thing that bothered him was the fluxuations to the altitude that he had Clove take to do the scans. Thats when he felt the most pain. The first time Axel rode Clove, he saw the features of the land. He could see for miles. All the trees and hills of the plains, Axel took it all in. This time, he saw the farms along the way. Every once in a while, he would spot a house. As they got closer to the kingdom, the density if the population increased and the land looked more settled.
Axel didn't stop at the front gates of the city by simply flying over on Clove. They circled overhead as they waited for Wilson and his dryad to get through the gates. Once Wilson was through the gate, him and his dryad hurried to a spot that Clove to easily land. Once on the ground, Axel was taken by the dryad and was taken to his house. Even though Axel's injuries werent severe, he could still go into shock.
"Start healing him. Quickly, we dont have much time before he starts to feel worse," Wilson commanded his dryad as it laid Axel in his bed. Axel was finally struggling to stay awake because he knew he didnt have to be as alert now that he was in a safe place. Axel slowly slipped out of consciousness as he heard his master giving his dryad verbal commands to heal him fast and safely.
Even though there was no external bleeding or cuts, there was a lot of internal damage done to his arm and leg. Wilson studied his pupil as his dryad healed him. He noticed a lot of mucle damage. Axel's left femur and right humerus were badly fractured. Wilson knew that healing those are going to be a hard task.
Healing magic that companions use is more for the surface and muscles. And its hard to train companions that have healing abilities new healing techniques that are not part of their developing prcoess as they grow with their linked master.
Wilson could only find one healing technique for bones that was compatible with his dryad as they grew together. The upside was that his dryad could heal Axel with the technique. The down side was that for his dryad to use it, Axel's bones had to be broken.
Wilson made his dryad stop healing him once his muscles were almost back to normal. He sat beside his pupil and though for a moment on what action he should take due to the circumstances. 'If i leave his femur and humerus as they are, it will take 8 weeks for them to heal. On the other hand, if i break them, Axel will awaken from the pain, but i can get my dryad to have them healed in a couple days.'
After contemplating on what to do, Wilson sighed as he made a decision. He nodded to his dryad, bracing axel against the floor. The dryad pushed down on Axel's humerus until a loud crack sounded from his arm. As the dryad raised its limb off of Axel's arm, there was an obvious unnatural bend where his humerus was broken.
Wilson looked at Axel's face and saw a look of discomfort. Wilson nodded again to his dryad as he braced Axel. The dryad put preasure on Axel's femur. A louder crack sounded from his leg as his femur broke. The dryad's limb dropped with Axel's femur breaking.
As Wilson predicted, Axel woke up screaming in sheer agony from the extreme pain, wondering why 2 of his bones are broken in half. Wilson knocked Axel on the head and made him fall out of consciousness again. He frowned from hearing Axel briefly scream like that and thought of the ritual from 5 weeks ago.
Wilson commanded his dryad to start healing Axel's broken bones. As the dryad hovered its limbs over Axel's leg, Elane came rushing in, covered with bruises all over her limbs and parts of her torso that was visible from her shirt waiving from rushing through the door as she opened it. She was crying wondering what happened to her son that made him scream like that. Once she laid eyes on her son lying on his room floor with the dryad and his master sitting next to him, she screamed and sobbed. "What happened to my precious little boy!?" She demanded in a fearful tone.
Wilson looked at Elane and waived her to come closer. She came close and sat next to him, staring at Axel. "He is being healed. We had to take some hard decisions on what healing method would be best. He will be healed and back to normal in a few days." Wilson looked at Elane and noticed all of the bruises that covered her. "Axel will hate to see that. With his temper that I saw in his battle a week and some days ago, he is bound to take action against whoever did this to you." Wilson then turned his attention back to Axel. Elane nodded and kissed her son's forehead before getting up to leave. Before she was out of Axel's bedroom she said, "Make sure he is strong before he sees me. The clothes that could cover up my arms and legs are torn to shreads by that cousin of his, Jonah." Wilson nodded to Elane and turned back to Axel.
Wilson then clapped his hands together, interlocking his fingers and focused. 2 nights passed as Wilson meditated while his dryad healed Axel. 'I can't believe im doing this. But Axel needs all the strength he can get.' Wilson muttered some words and his hands started to bleed and glow. He then placed his hands on Axel's chest and started performing a ritual. His dryad was finished healing Axel before he placed his hands on him.
Axel's muscle mass grew twice the size it was. After that, Wilson forcefully poured half of his raw magic stored into him, making Axel's magic prowess grow more than 5 times than what it was. Wilson then sat back and panted hard.
A day passed before Axel woke up. He noticed his body was sore and felt like his magic had more depth. Wilson helped him sit up. "I performed a forbidden ritual on you yesterday. It is called Growth of Nature. Don't ask about it. Just know that you are stronger in many aspects." Axel then nodded and went to lay in his bed to finish recovering. "After your rest, go see your mother." Wilson then called his dryad to it's rune then got up and left without saying another word.
