Axel put his new sheathe on his belt after inserting his weapon. "What does the rune on the base of the blade do master?" Wilson sat back with a smirk. "That rune lets you channel your magic through it, letting the blade take on many effects. Such as if you focus your fire magic into it, the blade will catch fire and so on." Axel smiled widely as he felt more excited to test what he can do with his new sword.
"Go get some rest and meet me here early in the morning tomorrow. We are going outside of the city walls." Wilson then left as Axel hurried home to let his mother know. 'I can't do any training tonight. I have to be in top condition so I know that I can do my best.' Axel informed his mother, Elane of what he was going to be doing and he wont know when he will be back. Elane hugged her son tightly, feeling worried like any mother would. Axel then sat at the table, enjoying every moment he could with her. Elane pulled out what she made earlier and sat with him. They spent all evening together till Axel had to rest for the night.
Axel rose from his rest as the sunlight peaked through his window and donned his sword. He kissed his mothers forehead as she slept and hurried to the courtyard. Wilson was waiting for him this time. Axel bowed to him as he approached his master. Wilson looked at Axel in his usual family clothes, "We are going to get you a light set of armor before we head off. Follow me." Axel followed Wilson closely as they treaded on the streets of the city that he has never seen before. They past many shops for different things and finally stopped at the smithy. A loud, deep voice rang inside as Wilson and Axel entered, "How can i help you Willy?" A man that stood 6 feet tall threw a hammer on his shoulder, covered in soot. The man wore an apron and had a prefectly round beard with his face blackened from working. He was bald and muscular, making anyone that walked in look tiny.
"I'm here to purchase a set of armor for my younge pupil. What do you have Derick?" Axel smiled as he bowed to Derick. Derick stroked his beard as he observed Axel determining his measurements for his new armor. "What kind of armor are you wanting for him?" Wilson sat in a nearby wooden chair. "Something light. Hard leather with some metal here n there." Derick snapped his fingers smiling at Axel, "I have just the thing!"
Derick went through the door in the back and came back with a dark leather top that donned iron shoulder guards, matching leather shorts lined with iron trim, leather shin guards and leather forearm guards. "Hows this Willy?" Wilson looked at the armor set then looked at Axel. "Let him try it on to make sure it fits."
Axel put the set on, making sure all the traps are stiff, keeping the guards in place. He then looked at his master, nodding in approval. "How much?" ,Wilson said as he examined Axel with the armor set. "First set is on the house." Wilson's eyes widened and nodded to Derick. Wilson then left out the door with axel following closely again.
After an hour, they reached the south gate. Once they were outside the city, Axel's jaw dropped as he saw rolling plains with a tree line way off in the distance. Wilson chuckled as he saw Axel's expression. "We are after wolves. If they have any abilities, I will take care of them" ,Wilson said as he walked along the road. Axel came to his senses and ran to catch up with his master. They walked along the road for 4 hours before they approached the tree line.
"Take the lead, I will be right behind you," Wilson said, nudging Axel infront of him. Axel donned his sword and treaded lightly, focusing on the area around him as he entered the forest. After about half an hour, Axel heard a howl in the distance followed by more. "Seems to be about eight of them. Be quiet as we get closer. I want you to try to surprise attack them," Wilson whispered. Axel nodded and stepped lightly till he saw the pack. All of the wolves were 3 feet tall and 4 feet long with their tails down. Axel then crouched to study them as Wilson observed from a distance.
Axel sprinted towarss them, sword in hand. He poured his magic into his weapon, making sparks fly out of it. The sparks flew and was striking the area around him as he ran. He jumped and he held his sword over his head and swung it down forcefully, severing the head of the closest wolf. At the end of his swing, Lightning blasted violently upwards. He then changed the element to fire, causing a blue flame to ride along the edge. He then he countinued his attack, severing another wolf's head before the rest of the pack circled him. As two wolves attacked form the sides, he held the sword out with his free hand stretched out, casting a wind spell that threw the wolf on his left backwards. The wolf on his right ran into his sword dying instantly. He pulled his sword out of the corpse and sheathed it. He the put his hands on the ground, making rock spike appear from the ground, piercing half of the remaing wolves, instantly killing them as well. Axel then turned to the 3 wolves that remained. By now, the wolf that was thrown back got on its feet and rushed Axel. Axel held out both hands and used his darkness and fire magic to recreate the black fireball. As it hit the wolf, it exploded on impact. The other 2 wolves jumped through the blast and caught Axel off guard. One bit into the guard on his arm while the other went of his leg. Axel hesitated and panicked for a moment before he released Clove from his binding rune. The wyvern appeared and noticed its owner was in trouble as it saw the wolves biting down on his armor. Clove bit down on the wolf biting on Axels leg, crushing its rib cage. Axel then grabed the neck of the other wolf biting his arm guard, and electrocuted it with his lightning magic. After the remaining wolves were dead, Axel limped to his master who was running to him with a smile on his face.
