Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

Over the past four days, Gary had been heading North.

Now, he was at the border wall. He had asked around about sightings of anyone new and no one seemed to have seen them.

With nothing better to do, he began heading to the capital. He intended to buy information from the best information broker in the nation.

He knew that they were being paid by the leading slave ring in the nation, but he couldn't care less. He was there for information and not for a discussion of ethics.

....

He traveled for a day, unwittingly arriving on the same day that Salem, Alina and Ruby arrived.

Heading over to the information broker, he spotted three people standing outside. He recognized Alina, but not Salem or Ruby.

A black skeleton returned to the trio and was unsummoned by the one in the middle. He then turned to the other two, said something, and they left.

Gary hurriedly entered the building. "I have information regarding the companion of the new Machinist." He said.

"Two or three gold, depending on the usefullness." She responded.

"The person who sent in the skeleton is travelling with a former companion of the machinist." He said. "Her name is Alina, she is a wood elf, black hair, green eyes, olive complexion, one and a half meters tall, carries a bow and she's a hunter."

"Appearance of the other two?" She asked, pulling out a pad and pen.

"The summoner of the skeleton is black haired, pale complexion, yellow eyes, one and a half meters tall, male, doesn't carry any weapon." He described Salem. "The other is a blood elf, white hair, red eyes, pale complextion, slightly taller than one and a half meters tall, female, carries a sword."

She handed him nine gold pieces. "Three per person." She explained. "We should be able to track down the new Machinist with this information."

Gary happily recieved the gold. He could live comfortably for a year with each of these gold pieces. This just went to show how valuable information was.

"Oh and one more thing." He said, hoping to milk another coin from her. "The devastation in the Northwest was caused by this new Machinist."

Her mouth opened slightly. She gave him another coin. "I need to report this to the higher-ups." She said. "That makes him a class seven threat."

Gary pretended that he knew what that meant and left.
