The shadow seemed to panic and started straining against its bonds.
"Looks like we have our man." Salem said. "Tell me, sir Womble, can you feel pain?"
He stopped struggling.
"I'll take that as a yes." Alina stepped forward. "Scalpel please."
She held out her hand.
Salem reached into his pocket and acted like he always carried one in his chest pocket.
Taking the scalpel, she began tracing the razor sharp knife around different parts of his body, but it had no effect.
"Looks like only magic works against him." Ruby noted. "Might I take over?"
Alina nodded and moved back.
Ruby was able to use a sword skill because the scalpel was technically a small sword.
The scalpel ignited with rose coloured flame.
"This is going to hurt a bit~" Rose liltingly sang as she dragged the burning knife through Womble's flesh.
Salem stepped forward. "Tell us where Rothschild is and the torture will end." He said coldly.
Womble was apperently a tough nut.
....
The receptionist heard screams. These weren't screams of surprise or anger that she was used to.
These were screams of abject fear.
Moving along the corridor, she saw room eighty-seven was open.
Not remembering that was where she had directed the three Inquisitors, she entered and drew breath to try and deescalate the situation.
Seeing the three Inquisitors, her words died in her throat.
Two of them turned to look at her.
"Could you please keep the noise down?" She asked stupidly.
"We can't dampen the noise." The man said. "If we do, we can't tell when he's ready to tell the truth."
She felt chills. She stepped out of the room hurriedly and ran.
She didn't stop until she was at her desk. She felt a little safer at her desk, despite the fact that it was an illusion of safety that came from a sense of familiarity.
She sat down heavily and tried to ignore the horrible screams that were coming from down the hall.
