"Oh?" Alina glanced at him. "How many?"
Salem used Eyes of the Machinist and checked.
"Over a hundred." He responded. "They seem to be the knights or whatever."
The King seemed livid. "They are my elite soldiers!" He exclaimed. "And when they g-''
Ruby smacked him again. "Shut it." Any semblance of playfullness vanished from her face. "We'll just kill them all."
The King seemed to think they could manage that, based on his expression of panic.
"Since we're leaving this world anyway, why don't I showcase my Nanomancer class?" Salem asked rhetorically, creating a grenade launcher for each of them.
"The projectiles drop quite a bit." Salem warned. "So the further away they are, the more you should account for drop."
The two nodded, pointing their new 'toys' at the oncoming knights.
Salem fired the first shot. It arked beautifully into the midst of the advancing knights and exploded violently.
Alina and Ruby followed suit, easily tearing apart the oncoming knights.
The King watched in horror as his elite knights were utterly destroyed before they were within even bowshot.
Alina turned to the king. "You have a son yet?" She demanded coolly.
"Y-yes." The King's former arrogance had vanished and been replaced by terror.
"Good." Ruby said and removed his head. "Shall we go and offer 'guidance' to the King's heir?"
"No." Salem said. "The fear of the new 'kingslayers' will keep him in line."
Alina shrugged.
"That's fair." Ruby said. "I hope this world will repair itself."
"It probably will." Salem said, making another dimension-travelling washing machine. "We just won't be here to see it."
The machine spun and didn't release any light this time. It only emitted a loud and high-pitched ringing noise as the space in front of them shattered.
Salem then left his final touch onto this world.
He wasn't worried about psyche cosumption. He had plenty of psyche to do what he wanted.
Marking the place where they were to leave this world was a massive floating orb. This would hopefully bring more dimension travellers in the future. 'Or the past?' Salem had never thought too much about the strange behaviors of the space-time continuum.
"Hold on to me." Salem said, stepping towards the crack. "And don't let go no matter what."
Ruby attached herself to Salem's front like a koala, while Alina did the same on his back.
Testing their security, he nodded to himself and stepped into the rift in space and time.
