Stepping into the crack, Salem's senses were wiped away briefly.
He was going to try to look around because he was curious about what the space between time and matter.

Time-related debuffs have been dispelled.
Space-related debuffs have been dispelled.
Those in contact with you will also have their debuffs dispelled.

Salem's vision returned and he saw a massive black void. There looked to be light, but at the same time it was utter darkness.
Salem could see shadows on himself and Ruby, but he couldn't spot a light source anywhere.
Salem started walking. There wasn't any visible ground beneath him, but he apparently could walk.
While he began his aimless trek, Salem created a few devices to see the behavior of time in this 'space'.
Salem watched as the stopwatch he had created in midair in front of him deconstructed itself and vanished into the abyss.
Alina was peering over his shoulder the whole time and saw this. He felt her mouth move, but he couldn't hear anything.
After she tried to talk for a while, she eventually gave up.
During the time he was walking, he couldn't tell if it was a hundred years or a second. He didn't get hungry, thirsty, or tired.
In the distance, Salem noticed a small yellow pinprick.
He headed towards it as he was at a loss for how to actually leave the space.
....
He walked for a long time and the pinprick didn't seem to get much bigger.
Sighing, he just kept on walking.
....
Ruby had fallen asleep by the time the light had gotten to the size of a dime. Her grip on his front didn't lessen at all, though, so he wasn't worried that she would slip.
....
It felt like a billion years had passed by the time the light was close enough to touch. The light was perfectly spherical and at that distance, warm.
Salem reached out to touch it and watched his hand phase through it like it wasn't there at all.
Ruby had awoken to the warmth on her back and looked curiously at the light.
Salem suddenly had a stroke of inspiration.
He created earpieces that vibrated the skull to transmit sound waves to the eardrum. They didn't need to speak that way, they could just mouth whatever they were to say and it would transmit the sound via Infrared waves.
He put a pair on Ruby and handed one back to Alina.
He had been worried about the weird effects of time on whatever left his body, but they stayed intact when the girls had them on.
Ruby spoke first. "Maybe we should use the thing you used to get us here to get us out." She suggested.
Salem pondered for a moment. "I can't be certain that it will work, but it's worth a shot."
"I hope we don't get stuck here." Alina said morosely. "It's so boring here."
Salem kept a hand on the space-rending washing machine to ensure it wouldn't be unmade and waited for it to make another singularity.
"It worked!" Alina exclaimed, seeing another crack appear.
Salem wondered what would be behind it, but figured he should just get them out of the weird space they were in.
"Brace yourselves." Salem said, steeling himself and stepping through into another great unknown.
