Lyra and her mother finally arrived back at home after the interview.
"Lyra," her mother said, "I need to go to work now. When I get home, let's celebrate your entrance into the special class."
"Mother..." Lyra said, uncertain of how to express her emotions. She was happy to have such a kind and loving mother, but she also did not feel a need to celebrate.
In fact, her mood was the opposite of how one would expect. She was heartbroken and sad. She hated herself for what she had done, but she knew there was no way to fix everything.
However, none of these emotions showed on Lyra's face. Instead, she had an ordinary smile.
"Lyra..." He mother said, "i know you don't want to celebrate, but celebrate with me, Okay?"
Lyra nodded and then her mother got in the car and drove to work. Lyra was left home alone with her depressing thoughts.
She sat by the water and stared at it. Unlike at night time, the individual fish could be seen swimming around.
She sighed as she watched them swim about. She saw two fish swimming beside each other, and she sighed at the sight.
She remembered when she and Phil were like that, when they travelled around the world together. But that was long ago, when she was still Selena. Now she was Lyra, and Phil became known as Len.
Her eyes became teary at the thought of him changing his name. She knew where the name Len came from: it was a part of her own name.
She thought of the time when she first discovered that she loved Phil. She was only in her twenties at the time, but her love already ran deep. That night there was a full moon, and she looked beautiful under the moonlight, but she thought Phil looked even more handsome than she looked beautiful.
That night, they were sitting under the moonlight, staring at the moon together. Neither said a word, but they both enjoyed each other's company.
However, that night she decided to see if he had feelings for her too. She hugged him suddenly, and he was confused by her actions.
"What are you doing, Selena?"
Selena did not say anything, and Phil slowly hugged her back.
"What is it? Selena..." He said. He was nervous then. He had no clue what she was doing.
Then he heard some sniffling. "Selena! Are you crying?" He was surprised. He lifted her head slightly and wiped her tears.
"Don't cry, Selena. I'm here."
Selena's heart felt warm and fuzzy when she heard him. But she did not stop her crying. "Will you... always... be here for me?" She asked. She knew that it was impossible for him to answer. No one knew the future, but she still wanted to know his answer.
"Forever and always, I'll be here for you."
Selena looked up at Phil and stopped crying. "You mean it?" She asked.
Phil nodded. "Yes. I mean it. I've lived long enough without you. I want to always be with you, and spend the rest of my life with you."
Selena lifted her hand to her eyes and wiped her tears. "I'm glad." She whispered, and then rested her face against his chest. "I was afraid..."
She paused her words, and Phil decided to ask, "what were you afraid of?"
Selena replied, "I was afraid... that you would leave me. That you didn't want to be around me."
"There's no reason for you to fear. I'll always be by your side. Selena..."
"I love you."
Phil hugged her and brought her closer to his chest, as if he was also afraid of losing her.
"Phil..." She said. She looked up at him and smiled. "I love you too."
Then the two sat in each other's arms for a few more hours, and watched the moon together. This time they were not just watching the moon as friends, but instead as lovers.

Lyra did not notice when the tears began to fall. They fell quickly, but she was too absorbed in her thoughts to wipe them.
When she finally snapped back to reality, she realized that the sun was already gone from the sky and that the moon was beginning to rise. It was the night after the full moon, and the moon still looked brilliant and big.
Lyra cried again while looking at the moon, remembering all the time she spent with Phil, and thinking sadly that she could never return to him, no matter how she tried.
Her heart felt like breaking again and again. She knew that if she told Phil the truth, then he would be more heartbroken than before.
After all, she died once, and then came back to life.
But coming back to life had one condition, a condition that pained her heart so much that she even thought of going back to death:
She cannot let Phil find out that she is Selena.
If Phil finds out that she is Selena, she will immediately die, and...
Phil would become heartbroken once again.
