Leo sighed. "I hope your plan goes well then. For you and Len both.
Lyra smiled. "Of course it will go well. After everything has happened, Len fell in love with me before. He will definitely fall in love with me again!"
"Be careful." Leo said. He knew that nothing he could say would change Lyra's mind so he did not try to stop her.
"I will be!" Lyra them wandered around her room inspecting everything carefully. "The more I look around here, the more I like this room."
"That's good." Leo responded. He was starting to feel absent minded, and he wondered if that was caused by spending too much time around the carefree Selena.
He was always carefree, but not nearly as much as her, but now she seemed slightly more matured and responsible even though she was physically younger than before. He decided to point out this difference.
"You seem different than before." He stated it as simply as he could. He knew that Lyra liked people speaking bluntly; it gives her less to worry about.
"Don't all people change in their lives?" Lyra asked in response. She was not actually asking a question though; it was more of a statement.
Leo pondered her words for a short moment, and agreed with them completely. Then he glanced at his watch and realized that he still had other work to do.
"I'll head back to my office now. You should familiarize yourself with this room and with the other students in the special class. I'll see you again when it's time for class tomorrow."
He turned around to walk out the door but Lyra stopped him.
"Wait! One last thing!"
He paused for a moment, and she shuffled through her bag to find something. After a few minutes, she pulled the silver hairpin out of her bag.
"That hairpin! Is that...?" Leo looked at it in surprise. He recognized it very well. It was the hairpin that Selena always wore. He never once saw her without it.
Lyra walked up to him and tried to shove the hairpin into his hands, but he stepped back. "What... are you doing?"
Lyra simply responded, "giving you my hairpin."
Leo was surprised, but he already knew that. So he asked instead, "why?"
Lyra smiled and said, "can you give it to Len, please?"
Then she passed the hairpin to him and looked towards the window. "Don't tell him it's from me, though. It's an obvious giveaway that I am actually Selena. Tell him..."
She turned to face Leo. Her eyes turned dark and sad. It was obvious that she did not want to say what she knew she had to say.
"Tell him that you found it on the Internet. It was labeled as an antique, and you recognized it as Selena's hairpin, so you bought it."
"Would Len believe such a lie?" Leo asked. Now even he was starting to become sad.
"You can make it believable. You know how. And besides, since the moment I came back, I wished so desperately for him to have it." Lyra looked up towards the sky window and her eyes reflected the light with sadness, but more there was a hint of joy.
She could finally complete something she wanted so desperately to accomplish. Now, finally, Len could have her silver hairpin back, the one and only gift he ever was able to give her.
Leo looked directly at Lyra and said, "Okay. I'll do it."
Lyra looked back at him and smiled, "thank you, Leo. Thank you so much."
Leo stuck the hairpin into his pocket and then waved at Lyra. "I need to go now. I'll see you tomorrow."
Lyra responded, "I'll see you tomorrow. And again, thank you."
"I haven't done anything yet, why are you thanking me." Leo asked joyfully. Then he turned around and walked out of Lyra's dorm. He did not turn to look back once.
Lyra smiled seeing him go, and then sat down on the bed. "This place really is beautiful." She muttered to herself.
She decided to relax on the bed a bit, but then her stomach growled.
"Haha... I guess I should eat now." She laughed and went to the shared kitchen.
"What do we have here?" She muttered while looking through the pantry. She saw all sorts of different foods, and had trouble deciding what to make. Eventually, she decided to make some chicken and some rice. It was two simple dishes, and she did not want to waste any time cooking.
She spent ten minutes cooking, and the food smelled really good. The smell filled the air, and no matter where someone was on the floor, they would be able to smell it.
Suddenly, Lyra heard a voice. "Mmmm... it smells delicious here... who is cooking?"
