Lyra understood Leo's worries and decided to keep silent about his decisions. She walked up to the window and stared outside.
"Where are we going?" Lyra asked. She has to be prepared for whatever was coming later.
"The Shadow Mountains. It's the same place where..."
Lyra did not have to hear the rest of his sentence to know what he was saying. It was the place where Selena died.
"I see..." Lyra responded. Her death brought sad and gloomy thoughts to both of them, so she understood why he did not mention it. "Is Len coming along?"
"No. He hasn't been back there for three hundred years."
Lyra was surprised. Len was just as strong as she was in the past; he certainly would be stronger than her now, right?
Leo answered her unspoken questions, "He lost his ability to use magic after that fight. I'm not sure what happened."
"Why did he?" Lyra asked. She felt pain all over again after hearing that: he sacrificed his ability to use magic ever again to help her fight. "Why?" She cried silently.
Leo saw her expression and decided to leave her alone. "I'll leave now." He said, "we are leaving in five minutes. I'll take you, Beatrice, and Ace there and then I'll pick you all up in two weeks."
Then he walked out of the room. Lyra did not see him leave, but as soon as he did, she looked away from the window and grabbed the suitcase. Now was not the time to think about old grief; now she had to keep Beatrice and Ace safe, and help Leo keep an eye on the demons.
As Leo said before, the demons were becoming more rampant, and soon the Queen of the Demons could come again.
But this time, the heroes who are supposed to face her are already destroyed, without her having to lift a hand.
Lyra decided that this time she will become strong enough to defeat her without harming herself or Len.
She took her suitcase and walked out the door. She was greeted by Beatrice and Ace, who were both ready to go.
"Its time." Lyra said. Both Beatrice and Ace nodded nervously, not saying a word.
They walked out of the building together and went into to Leo's car. "You're all ready. Let's go." Lei said, trying to comfort the nervous Beatrice and Ace duo.
Lyra laughed seeing the way they were acting, and Leo started the car.
They drove for an hour, and arrived at the Shadow Mountains.
"I'll take you all in." Leo said, "mainly to make sure that you don't run away." He glanced at Beatrice and Ace as he said that.
There two shivered when they met his eyes, but they still responded calmly, "Don't worry. We won't run away. Lyra needs to know what this special class is about after all."
"I already explained a few things to her." Leo said. He already made the perfect cover for Lyra. "But please, if she asks any questions you should answer."
"Don't worry!" Beatrice said, "I'll make sure she's fine."
Leo nodded and then the three of them followed him into the Shadow Mountains. Lyra was amazed by the sight; the place completely changed since she was last here. It used to be barren and rocky, but now the ground felt soft under Lyra's shoes and leaves could almost cover the sky. The forest that she never saw before was beautiful.
Leo turned around to look at them, and he announced that they were almost at the place where they should start.
Lyra looked ahead and saw something gleaming in her eyes. Finally they arrived at the place they were headed. It was an open clearing by a sparkling river. The grass was a pretty shade of green, and the water shined in many different colors. There were flowers of many different varieties, colors, and sizes, and they all looked so perfect together.
Everything glimmered in the sunlight.
"Here we are." Leo said. Then he left the way they came, and Beatrice, Ace, and Lyra were left alone in the beautiful clearing.
"So... What should we do first?" Ace asked. Neither Lyra nor Beatrice answered, so Ace continued, "maybe we should-"
But then suddenly Lyra's stomach growled.
"I guess that's where we will start today." Beatrice laughed.
"Yeah." Ace agreed.
"But where can we get food?" Beatrice asked.
Lyra looked towards the river, and Beatrice and Ace both followed her gaze.
"That's right!" Ace exclaimed. "We can have fish!"
"Shhhh!" Beatrice said, "what if you attract danger from being so loud?"
Ace looked at her and smiled, "nah. Can't possibly happen. You're exaggerating."
"Am I?" Beatrice challenged.
"G- guys?" Lyra said, her voice sounding frightened.
"What is it?" Beatrice asked, still looking at Ace.
"What is that?" Lyra trembled as she spoke. She was incredible at acting like a frightened teenager. She pointed to one side and both Beatrice and Ace looked in the direction she was pointing.
