It was soon Monday, and four days had gone by since my mom had found me on the beach. And only a day had passed since I returned to the beach. As I had expected, I came back safe and sound. Except Fulcrum was nowhere to be found. I searched the whole day after we got back, but couldn't find him anywhere. An eerie feeling crept it's way into my heart, the water even got more violent, as if telling me to run while I had the chance. I took one last look before quickly leaving.
A part of me couldn't help but still worry for his life. It was dangerous for him to help me, yet he did. I wondered where I would be right now if he didn't. Maybe down at the bottom of the water, drowned to death, my limp body freezing cold. Or maybe the crazy old man would've killed me after I was tortured to death. I shuddered remembering the way his figure morphed into something so inhumane.
I changed my clothes into a pair of black shorts and a dark purple hoodie, wearing combat boots with it. Tiring my black curls up into a bun as I did my edges. Ever since I returned that night, I made sure to stay a safe distance away from the water, yet I subconsciously found myself turning my head when I heard the splash of water, reminding me all too well of a certain merman. Just as I sighed, my mom walked into my room.
Even after my mom found me, she somehow managed to be around me 24/7 or at least when she was out of work. She leaned over my shoulder as she looked at me in the mirror.
"You look beautiful." She said with a smile. I snorted sarcastically.
"I was going for the opposite but I guess that works. I joked. She gave me a small kiss on the cheek before walking downstairs.
"Breakfast is on the table." She said. I made a weird expression.
"You made breakfast?" Grabbing my black backpack, I quickly rushed down the stairs, my phone in my other hand. Upon arriving at the dinner table, I saw a box of cereal sitting there, with a bowl and spoon next to it.
"I knew it was too good to be true.." I sighed disappointingly before sitting down.

The school bus shortly arrived, and unlike all the yellow buses I've seen in my whole life time, it was an all white bus with the words "Bionots International Academy" engraved on the right side of the bus. Wide mouthed, I turned to stare at my mom. She shrugged with a slight smirk.
"The job pays well." She said. Turning back around, I waited somewhat excited to get on the fancy bus with tinted windows.

The bus was nearly empty when I got on. It had a few kids in the front who were arguing about god knows what. I sat in the last see in the back. Taking out my headphones, I put them on before playing my music. The bus soon stopped in front of a house.
Well, mansion.
I tried to resist the urge to ogle at the giant, castle sized home but I soon looked. Moving my face towards the glass, I could only thank the lord the glass was tinted. A girl with bright red hair and a face full of freckles walked out. I gasped shocked. She was beautiful!
She had a small face and elegant figure, even though she was just wearing a hoodie and plaid skirt, she looked like she came straight out of a Cinderella story! She soon boarded the bus. I quickly looked back at my phone as if I hadn't been staring at her. I sighed.
"What are you even doing Somni! Get your head together!" I scolded myself mentally. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the window, trying to get some sleep when I heard someone sit in the seat across from me, the faintest sent of strawberries filling my noes. I coughed loudly. Catching my breath, I noticed the girl was looking at me.
"...." I froze before putting the volume up on my music, trying to blast out my embarrassment. The bus doors soon closed and started to move.

After picking up another bunch of privileged and beautiful looking kids, the bus finally kept moving, and soon, the bus was nearly filled with students. I blasted my music louder.
"I bet there parents could buy this entire bus with there pocket change.." I thought to myself. I started to wonder why they were even here. "Don't they have chauffeurs for this kinda thing?!?" I could only hug my backpack tighter as my excitement died down, and my anxiety started to rise. I wanted to get off of this bus as soon as possible.
Opening up google, I put in the name of the school and my house to see how lone the drive was. I froze.
An hour long drive?!? And that was only from my house directly, now that we were picking up other kids... I felt my soul leave my body. I haven't even been on the bus for 30 minutes! I squeezed my backpack in my arms and sighed. This was going to be a painfully awkward bus ride
