The bus doors finally opened. And as much as I wanted to run out of the bus and finally be free, there was a line of people standing in front of me. Insanely wealthy people. I patiently waited. After about two or three minutes, I was finally able to get off of the bus. I took a deep breath of air.
"Sweet, sweet air!" I was just about to make my way to the front entrance of the ginormous school when someone had called out.
"Excuse me!" Someone yelled from behind me. Turning around, my eyes bulged slightly.
"Are these yours?" The ginger headed girl from before was holding up my black headphones. Her voice radiating like sweet honey pouring into a cup of warm green tea.
"Hello?" She said, snapping me out of my trance.
"Oh uh yes, thank you.." I mumbled softly before reaching out to grab them, her hand gently placing them in my hand. I watched her as she walked away with elegance. Taking a deep sigh of relief, I placed my headphones in my backpack before quickly walking into the school and to the main office.

I pushed the glass door open carefully and closed it behind me. A strict looking lady sat in a seat behind the main reception desk. I gulped before walking up to her.
" Um, excuse me." I said quietly. She looked up at me.
"I'm new here, I was wondering if I could get my schedule." I said. She nodded before turning back to her laptop.
"What's your name?" She asked.
"Somn-"
"Somnium Kennings! Please, come into my office!" A loud voice interrupted. I looked over to see a man in a brown suit looking at me with a welcoming smile. I looked back at the receptionist and muttered a small 'pardon me' before making my way into the loud mans office.
The wide room reeked of fresh paint. I tried my best not to cough. Going behind the desk, he sat down and motioned with his arm for me to sit in the chair in front of him.
"Welcome to Bionots. How are you liking it here so far?" He asked. I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly.
"It's definitely not the same as back in Colorado for one.." I said. He let out a chuckle.
"Well, I hope you can make good friends with some of your classmates. Now, I have a couple of things I need to discuss with you." He leaned back and opened a drawer, pulling out a file filled with papers. Taking one out, he showed it to me.
"As in your old school, our school also works with this format of your schedule." He said. "And from the looks of it, you are a very smart student. He said. I stared at him waiting to continue.
"However, our teachers teach a bit differently than in your old school, I was wondering if for certain classes, you wouldn't mind being put in the standard level? Of course if we see you are doing beyond well, we will move you up. We just don't want to overwhelm you." He explained. I sat in my chair and thought for a moment.
Looking up at him, I nodded. "Okay," I said. "Sounds fine with me."
He then pulled out another paper which needed my signature. I looked at him confused.
"Just so we have records of you agreeing to this." He said. I nodded but still read what was on the paper, just to be safe.
After reading it through, I signed at the bottom of the paper. He took the paper and put it back into the folder before smiling at me.
"Thank you for your cooperation, you may go now." He said. I stood up and pushed my chair back in. Turning around, I walked to the door and opened it. The lady at the main reception pointing to my schedule. I mumbled a tiny "thank you" and picked up the paper.
"Calculus? That's my first class." I said. The lady looked up at me.
"Head to the second floor and go straight, take a left and it's the third class room on your left." She said. I nodded and was about to open the door when she stopped me again. "Wait." She said. I turned around and didn't move. She scribbled something on a small piece of paper before handing it to me. "Incase your late." She said. I made a small 'oh' sound before taking it.
"Thank you." I said. The turning around again, I opened the door and left.

By the time I had walked up the flight of stairs, it was already 8:45. I sighed, it was a good thing I had the paper she had given me. Walking up to the third door on my left, I opened it. The chatty class barely noticing I was there. A sweet looking lady came up to me.
"Hello! I'm Ms. Helen, or you can call me Ms.H." She said outstretching her hand. I quickly shook it.
"Somnium. Sorry I'm late." I said. She let out a laugh before waving me off.
"No worries! Everyone is on there first day." She said. I smiled softly and handed her the paper. Setting it aside, she pointed to a seat in the corner middle row, next to one of the giant windows. I quickly rushed to my seat, setting my backpack down. The boy who was sitting on the table next to me gave me a quick glance and then looked away. The teacher clapped loudly getting the classes attention.
"Alright class! Now that everyone is here, let's begin." She said brightly. I looked out the window.
"At least I had a window seat, and if there was a tsunami I would be the first to know." I thought taking a deep sigh.
