Donna's phone rings and an angry female speaks from the other side of the line!
"Donna, this is Deanna, I'd like to speak to John!" "Deanna, John isn't here, Donna replied.
"Donna, let me speak to my hus...I mean fiancé. Deanna was beginning to get upset. Donna replied once again, "I told you he is not here, he's already left. He left here over an hour or so ago."
That can't be right, Donna! He just paged me not 10 minutes ago and said you and he had some business to go over, it had better not be monkey business!" Excuse me, what did you just say?" "You heard me Donna, I didn't stutter!"
"Are you threatening me Deanna, because I owe you a little something something and if you're calling me a liar, something can be delivered in short order. Just drive on out here but be prepared for a good ole Texas butt kicking! The one I should have given you the night I found you in bed with my husband! Best friend my backside! You should be ashamed, you husband stealing bitty!
"John fell in love with me because all you did was work", exclaimed Deanna. "That's right I had to work so lives could be saved with emergency surgeries and while I was doing that, little miss stealing hood came to my house with her little movie and popcorn and ended up sleeping with my husband in my home. I'll dare you even dial my number and threaten me, you don't want to mess with me Deanna Prichard!" With that, Donna slammed the phone down and walked away!
When Donna went to the living room she found JoAnn rolling on the floor with laughter. "What's so funny?" Donna replied. JoAnn could hardly stop laughing. "Go get her girl, she deserves that and more!"
The phone rang again and Donna said "That had better not be Deanna again! HELLO! Oh John! Deanna called and had the nerve to threaten me. Please tell her I won't be so kind next time." Now John was laughing! "What are you laughing about?" Donna said more than a little perturbed! Actually, I called to apologize for lying to Deanna about being with you but I was out hunting for a place and I found a great one. It's one of the new high-rise apartments close to the office and I'm pre-approved for the first penthouse completed and can get the designers in to decorate in a week or so. Oh, and some more good news! Our house is ready for inspection next week per the contractors so we should be able to put it on the market soon and get our money from the sales."
"That is good news! And actually, the other one wasn't so bad", she said with a smile on her face. She was glad John couldn't see the smile but JoAnn could and smiled even bigger than Donna!
With everything going on, Donna almost forgot that Don was due back in town tomorrow night. She and JoAnn talked and decided that JoAnn would spent one more night and then go home tomorrow after lunch and Don would be back tomorrow night so Donna should be safe.
Another night descends and Donna and
JoAnn have settled in, gotten their showers and are dressed for bed when the door bell rings and is preceded by a loud banging on the door! "Please hurry, let me in", a man anxiously yells. Someone is chasing me, and I need to use your phone now!
Donna has her pistol loaded and ready to fire should he try to break in on them. Both of the ladies are scared to death and poor JoAnn is clinging to Donna. Donna speaks through the door and warns this would be intruder, "Look I don't know who you are but I just called the police and they are on their way but this door is not going to be opened, unless you want a bullet from this gun! They hear a noise and realize he's leaving and then they hear a car crank and speed off! Donna puts her gun back on safety.
They hear a police car with its sirens on, coming up toward the back door and they identify themselves before they open it. "Officer, thank God!" Donna almost hugs the policeman! We were so scared this man was going to break in on us! It's okay Ms. Jamison, we checked all around and there's no one near this house. It looks like a car dug out of here though. Someone wants your attention! Well they have it sir! This has been a crazy weekend to say the least! The second officer had been looking around when he found a note on the ground and handed it to the officer in charge . "What does it say, Officer," Donna replied. It just says "Next time." the officer replied.
"Next Time?"
