Donna, JoAnn, and John all got up early Saturday morning. Donna went to the kitchen and started the coffee and began cooking bacon and eggs. JoAnn grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down next to John as Donna explained what had taken place the day before to John. John was both puzzled and flabbergasted at Donna's report. "Wow some strange stuff was surely going on." So the police got in on it too when you called them about the back door being
open, Donna?" "That's right John. "Do you think you ought to stay out here by yourself, Donna?", John replied. "I'll be okay as long as my buddy is with me." "You mean JoAnn?" John said. No, my pistol." "Oh, I forgot about Smith and Wesson." "JoAnn, did you know this little lady is a top marksman when it comes to shooting her pistol. She beats me shooting at targets!" "Speaking of targets, have you talked to Deanna about being here last night?" John looked at the ladies and told them that Deanna and he had called the wedding off for now. "No shucks, Sherlock!" JoAnn said and smiled just a little as she looked at Donna. Donna was completely surprised at John's answer and more than a little taken aback, actually from the look on her face, she was in total shock! When did this happen, John? "Oh it happened a few days ago when Deanna and I had our first argument over wedding arrangements and costs. You'd think I was a king instead of an architect the way she's handing the money out. She was also supposed to be spending her money!" John responded. Donna looked straight at John and said, "John, your and Deanna's spats are of no concern of mine!" "Sorry Donna, you're right. Please forgive me." But wait, you two must still be together since you called her last night right? Well, I'm still at her place if that's what you mean!" I'm still rethinking this whole thing Donna. Again, not my business John." "It might be Donna." Our house is almost ready for inspection and if Deanna and I split, I will pay you for your half since that was our original plan." "No problem, John." By the way Donna how are you and Don getting along?" "Just great John, not that it's any of your business!" Okay, no more questions or surprises from me" John replied. "Good" was Donna's only reply.
John had breakfast with Donna and Jo and then headed out to look for another place to live just in case he and Deanna finished their fight and he was the odd man out. Of course, he wasn't going to mention it to Deanna. She'd just think he had stayed doing some repair for Donna, at least that's what he will tell her when she asked. No need to tell Donna either. Its just a little lie, right? What harm could it do? Maybe nothing for him but might it catch Donna since she and Deanna had fought over John. Not that Donna ever wanted him back after what he and Deanna did to her!
John lucked up and found the perfect place.
After he had looked everywhere, the contractor for his and Donna' s house hit by the tornado said it would be ready for inspection in a week! John was elated! Now, they could sell the house and he could move into a new high rise being released for tenants in a few weeks.
John was really rethinking his life with Deanna because he was beginning to see her in a different light these days. He even started wondering what he had seen in her that caused him to hurt Donna! Donna had been a good wife to him but her being absent at work so much left an emptiness in him that Deanna quickly filled that first night, Popcorn and a romantic movie, a little touch here and a little touch there and when Deanna pressed her hot body against him, the temptation was just too much! He, at first regretted that night and tried to forget what he had done but it seemed every time he needed Donna, she was at work and Deanna made some excuse to come by and next thing you know they were in bed hungrily grabbing for that few minutes of supreme relief. This relief was a dangerous and sinful relief but one John found himself needing more and more. The strange thing was that Donna was a better lover than Deanna but Deanna was a dirtier lover pulling out all the stops when they made love. She made him feel dirty and good at the same time, a feeling he had never known until Deanna,s feeling he mistakenly took for love, a feeling of lust that kept pulling him in to Deanna more and more until hopelessly he couldn't live without it, though he broke it off with Deanna several times at first, the desire had already consumed him as though he were the hopeless prey of a beautiful woman and what had begun as an accidental night of lovemaking for a lonely man had become a needed addition, an addition that Deanna fed often when Donna was working all those long hours. John knew he had made his own bed and now he had to lie in it. He also could tell that even if he broke up with Deanna, there would be no going back to Donna, he had betrayed her love and hurt her trust too deeply.
Meanwhile at the Lake house, the telephone rings and an angry Deanna is on the other end...
