"Hi guys." meowed Starpaw. "Looks like Ravenclaw is in a good mood." replied Bluepaw as she was surprised. "You can never know what'll do next." Graypaw mumbled. "Well, his attitude changes every time, but everyone in the clan doesn't seem to mind or care. Just as long as he is strong and loyal." mumbled Bluepaw. Starpaw looked at Bluepaw and held a gaze that told Bluepaw, I can't agree more. Meanwhile, Graypaw did a slight nod while looking at his paws."Are you alright Graypaw? You seemed off, after your story at least." meowed Starpaw. Grapaw was straightened up at his two friends and replied, "Uh, yeah!" Before the anyone could reply, a yowl from Brokenstar the ShadowClan leader told them the gathering was going to start. Starpaw sniffed the air and mewed to her friends, "WindClan isn't here yet. Are they going to start without them?" Bluepaw and Graypaw looked at each other than at Starpaw. "I'm not sure, but let's go take our spots." replied Bluepaw. Not a single WindClan cat was here at the gathering. Made Starpaw think, if they were all died, but then she remebered that WindClan cats were known for their speed. It wasn't just Starpaw who noticed that any WindClan cats weren't here. "Not a single WindClan cat. What do you think--" were mumbled by most of the cats settling down. Then, Firestar flicked his tail in silence and started to speak. "Cats of all clans! I know all of you have noticed that WindClan is not here. However, we must start the gathering." meowed the ThunderClan leader that was on the Great Rock. Brokenstar looked at Firestar who nodded in return. "Brokenstar would like to speak-out first." Firestar took a step back and Brokenstar stepped forward. Brokenstar settled in the front and annouced, "Friends, I come to speck to you tonight about the needs of ShadowClan." Once Brokenstar finished his sentence, he was interupted by mumbles of the cats below the Great Rock saying, "Where is Tallstar? WindClan isn't here, yet." Brokenstar held his gaze at the crowd and flicked his tail in silence. "As leader of ShadowClan, it is my right to address you here so we all can know that hard life of leaf-bare have left us with little prey on our hunting grounds, but we also know that WindClan, RiverClan, and ThunderClan lost many kits in the freezing weather that hit hard this season." yelled the ShadowClan leader to the cats below. "However, ShadowClan did not lose kits this season, as we are hardened to the cold north wind. Therefore, our kits are stronger by the second they were born, and so we find ourselves with many mouths to feed and too little prey to find them." As the cats started to realize what Brokenstar wanted, they wanted to show him that their problems did not relate to them. "So?" Longtail from ThunderClan hissed aloud. Agrees of mumbles rose from the crowd. "Who cares?" yowled a warrior from the crowd. This warrior looked a bit like Firestar and the warrior Stonefur the one Bluepaw was talking about, but it was Stonefur Starpaw realized. It was a blue tabby with orange stripes with spot on his pelt. Brokenstar rolled his eyes and continued, "The needs of ShadowClan are very simple need in order for us to survive. We must expand our hunting territory, that is why I insist that you allow my ShadowClan warriors to hunt in your territory." Ravenclaw jumped on his paws as he growled, "Share our hunting grounds? That's insane!" Another cat from ThunderClan spoke out as well. Her beauitful white fur and her blue eyes were easy to tell that she was the queen named Frostfur. "The clans have never shared territories before. Why should we share now?" hissed the queen. She was very upset as she had her own kits that needed food as well. Agrees rose louder than before. Brokenstar was very unpatient, when he heard that he hissed in his spot, "Why should ShadowClan be punished because our kits are stronger than yours? Do you want us to watch our young strave. You must share what you have with us." Yowls of argrees came from ShadowClan, but no one was surprised. "Why must we do anything?" growled a cat from RiverClan. Hisses came from all Clan-cats as ThunderClan and RiverClan disagree with Brokenstar while ShadowClan wants to have more hunting territory. "If you to understand our needs, we will be forced to drive you out of your territory grounds. I mean, look where that got WindClan and this is a must to keep our kits alive as well as our elders." replied Brokenstar as he knew that either one clan will give their needs. "Drive us out? Can you even do that?" meowed the a cat from RiverClan with a lot of concern in her voice. ShadowClan did seem very lean and unfed, but their looks showed blood and hunger. "Each year the Twolegs spoiled more and more of our territory, not just mine, but all of ours. At least one clan must survive to keep us Clan-cats from going exist. I will not ask for your answer now, but do remeber what I will say now. Would you prefer sharing your hunting grounds or getting driven out of your territory and being left in the dust, homeless, and straving?" hissed Brokenstar. Mumbles of concern were starting to rise in the crowd, most are from RiverClan. Starpaw saw Crookedstar as he sighed and said, "I've already decided that RiverClan will give ShadowClan hunting right from the river through our territory." RiverClan were concerned about the needs just as much as ThunderClan, but they didn't think Crookedstar would make the desicion just like that. "I am not going to join in on such things!" yowled one cat. "How could you, Crookedstar?!" growled another. "I feel like this is best for our clan, for all our clans. There are many fish in the river. I'll rather share than spill blood of such thing." argued Crookedstar as he knew that warrior blood has been spilt too much already. "And? What about you, Firestar? Will you agree in a little need?" hiss Brokenstar with such pride in his victory with Crookedstar. Firestar eyed him from paw to head as he did a slight growl saying, "I won't be a part of this agreement without farther discussion WITHOUT farther discussion with my ENTIRE clan! I will discuss with my clan after the gathering, my response will take place at the next gathering." Firestar then looked at Crookedstar and held a gaze with his eyes. Firestar's eyes told Crookedstar, "You shouldn't have made such a desicion without the consult of your elders and senior warriors." Crookedstar's eyes replied, "I know what's best for my clan, Firestar. You can't rule me. However, I will not deny that my move was more on the coward side, but I will not spill anymore warrior blood!" Brokenstar was getting tired of their eye conversation and interupted them when he remeber something.
