As the cats scattered for a bit, they soon realized that this was THEIR clan. This is where THEY lived. So why should they be frightened of a single she-cat?
Thus, they started to come closer to her, hissing aggressively.
"I do not need to be cared for! If any cat comes near me to take care of me, I will break their bones like they are just a lump fur! I may be a medicine cat, but I was a fine warrior before this!" hissed Goldendust.
Firestar then turned to Rednose and they shared a look. Rednose then nodded.
Rednose proceeded to jump down from the high rock and gently push Goldendust to the side of the crowd.
Firestar gave a nod of thanks to Rednose and meowed, "As punishment for feeding Goldendust before your own clan, it will be your responsibility to care for Goldendust for her entire stay until she is in a suitable condition to hunt on her own."
Starpaw looked up to her leader and met his gaze. His green eyes with his orange fur shined on the sunlight.
Starpaw quickly shook herself and meowed, "Yes, Firestar."
Firestar came back to his right mind and meowed, "All right then. This meeting is now dismissed. I would like to speak to my senior warriors."
As the cats started to get back to their duties, Starpaw slowly, hesitantly walked up to Goldendust.
Goldendust quickly straightened up and hissed, "Get away from me, kittypet!"
Starpaw was very offended as she knew most of the clan thought that way about her. It was a sensitive topic.
"You can call me all you like, Goldendust, but I'm only following Firestar's orders," meowed Starpaw, her tone slightly shy as she was trying to hide the fact that the statement actually hurt her.
"Well, you were a kittypet, weren't you?" Goldendust hissed.
"I used to surround myself with kittypets, but I don't anymore!" meowed Starpaw.
"Kittypet blood is not the same as warrior blood, get that in your head! Why don't you go back to your kittypet family and leave me alone while you're at it. It's humiliating to be fussed over a kittypet like you!" meowed Goldendust.
The embarrassment Starpaw previously felt turned to anger.
"You are going to have get used to someone taking care of you until you get better so you can care for yourself, you self-centered bag of bones!" yowled Starpaw.
Suddenly, everything went quiet. It was easy to notice that Goldendust was a bit offened.
Before the silence could continue longer than it already did, Starpaw quickly meowed, "W-well I-I didn't mean it l-like that..?"
Goldendust lightened up and meowed rather than a mean hiss, "Hahaha. You got spirit, kittypet, and that's what makes a cat a good warrior. Now, I'm tired and this leg here hurts. I want to sleep and I need something to put on this wound here. So go on and ask that medical cat of yours for some herbs. If I remeber correctly, some goldenrod would help, and while you're at it I wouldn't mind a few poppy seeds to chew on. This pain isn't any cut you get from falling."
Starpaw nodded and began to walk towards Spottedleaf's den.
When she arrived, she saw the clan medic mixing some herbs.
Starpaw meowed, "Hey, Spottedleaf. Goldendust needs some herbs to help with her wound. She said she needed some goldenrod and poppyseeds to chew on."
Spottedleaf was very kind, so she stopped mixing and turned to Starpaw. She said, "I have all of those in my den. Affection marigold leaves too. If she keeps that on her wound, it should help from the infection spreading."
As Spottedleaf walked into her den, she meowed, "Hey Starpaw, don't get fixed up by anybody saying you aren't a true warrior because you weren't forestborn. If anything happens, just tell me. I'll be the big sister you never had!"
A genuine smile spread on Starpaw's face. She never expected a cat to treat her so well other than Bluepaw. It made her realize that not everbody is as mean as Longtail or the she-cat that attcked her.
"Here are the herbs. Tell Goldendust to go easy on the poppy seeds, I don't want her to go depending on these seeds. It can be useful to her as it will tell be how well she is recovering," meowed Spottedleaf as she dropped a package of leaves wrapped around the seeds in front of Starpaw's paws.
Starpaw thanked Spottedleaf and made her way to the den.
As Starpaw slowly walked up to Goldendust with slight fear, she dropped the herbs in front of Goldendust and mewed, "Here are the herbs, Spottedleaf told me to tell you to go easy on the poppy see-".
Goldendust interrupted her, "You don't need to tell me that. I already know that. After all, I'm a medicine cat too, you know. Now, before you go, get me sometihing to eat, would you? I'm starving, here you know!"
