Chapter 1 - The prodigy.

(This book takes place in modern times with an almost magical addition that is called cultivation. It allows one to be extremely strong or fast while still looking small and frail, as long as your cultivation level is high enough. Secret techniques can make it possible to create flames or fly. And a flying sword is common transport. This story is in South Africa, but I will not be using any names of actual places or people. Ok that's it, Enjoy!)

In a world where cultivation is key, lived a boy who was known by all as a true prodigy. He had never lost a fight and regularly attracted challengers. He had a calm demeanor and made time for everyone. This, of course also got the attention of girls, who regularly hung around him. Let's dive into this boy's sister's life, shall we?

We'll start with her usual morning, about two weeks after she and her twin entered high school…

"Mae!!! Please! I'll do your homework for a week, just fight the guy."

The well known idol was hanging onto his twin sister's sleeve as she dragged him through the hall to the dining room. She huffed, today was supposed to be one of her lazy days. She only had seven a week and this guy was stealing it from right under her nose!

"I've told you no! No amount of homework can convince me!"

"I'll make it two weeks." He pleaded again.

Her cold stare made him fumble.

"Two weeks and I'll buy you that new book that was sold out! I'll even clean your room!"

He was desperate at this point. The boy that challenged him had a huge ego and always tried to look down on him. He Asher Allard could not show his face if he didn't beat this boy until he got off his high horse, or until his sister beat him up.

She stopped dragging him when she heard his last proposal, she let out an evil laugh and quickly got out of his grip.

"This I can't refuse, remember it was your idea. No take backs."

She basically skipped to the kitchen, leaving her brother wondering if she had pulled one over on him.

She grabbed a piece of toast, slung her bag over one shoulder and walked outside just in time for the school bus to arrive. She sat on the seat nearest to the door and closed her eyes to sleep. Everyone on the bus was already used to this lazy girl that always slept, but somehow knew exactly when to wake up in time to climb off. She didn't open her eyes a second earlier than needed and never talked to anybody.

She was the only one to climb off at Pride academy and the only one that arrived at Pride academy without some flashy transport or another. Even her twin usually arrived with his limited edition wind cutting flying sword. She would use a flying sword as well, but she hadn't yet mastered the art of sleeping while flying so it was out of the question.

She dragged her feet up the stairs of the high school to the library, where she could hide away from all the other kids.

"I know this is Pride academy and its supposed to be grand and all… but do they really need so many stairs!" She muttered under her breath.

Even though she had higher martial arts and cultivation compared to others, she still hated any action that needed extra energy. She gave up halfway and looked around her quickly. With nobody in sight, she teleported to the top of one of the library shelves and lay down to rest on the cushion she had put there before.

She held out her hand toward one of the books on a shelf on the other side of the huge library. A phantom wind forced the book to move out of the shelf and guided it to her outstretched hand. She placed it before her and continued to read, using the same wind to turn the pages for her. If anybody knew she had used such a highly skilled technique for her lazy lifestyle, they would faint from anger.
