Chapter 1 - Dark Void Forest (1)

Long Yian felt empty, no matter how many resources she grasped from others, the thrill to stay alive was no longer within her.

She'd been forced into the martial arts world of immortality by faith as her master had found her in the slums and noticed her potential.

That night she was thrown into a chaotic world where killing was an every day thing. The stronger you are the stronger your opponents. She grew and so did her power but her emotions diminished. What was it like to live? The lives she'd robbed now amounted to nothing but a heap of treasures in her spatial ring.

She'd thrived and built an empire on of the corpses of those who went against her. But she no longer had any ambition. She couldn't make a breakthrough despite all her efforts of the past hundred years as her will to move on had dispersed. In order to move on she needed a purpose as her will to live for herself was meaningless.

What sense of justice did she have now that people called her Queen yama. She could not be forgiven for her sins as well as retribution with her reputation now. Her tall slender figure walked through a dark forest while her face remained emotionless as she thought of her predicament. She'd came here with the purpose to find a demonic beast strong enough to burn out her frustration.

Dark void forest was dangerous even for high leveled martial artist, as the demonic beast had dominated these land longer than even humans creation. The hidden creatures inside were unheard of and dangerous, yet Long Yian was unperturbed. Even if she lost her life, many would be happy she received karma. She would leave nothing behind but a baseless legacy of treasures with her corpse for the person who dared wander near her burial.

Using her divine sense she could distinguish an unfathomable presence up ahead. It radiated blood lust and power but it was just what she was looking for. Just as she was about to fly on her sword towards the presence many lightning bolts came down from the sky and struck to the east of her. The lightning bolts were different from a heavenly tribulation as they were black. No demonic beast she had heard of used black lightning.

Being a cultivator whenever unheard of situations happened curiosity would arise in search of opportunities. Without a second thought Long Yian rushed to where the lightning was hitting forgetting about her initial thoughts. Just as she reached the place the lightning had ceased and in its fury it had left a huge dent on the ground blowing away all the life it once held.

However what surprised her most was what was in the middle of the large hole in the ground. Long Yu sharpend her sight and stared at the small person lying at the center of the calamity. From the person's body structure Long Yian could distinguish it was a child no older than 4 with silver hair and in a malnourished state. Her face was covered in mud while her clothes were torn to shreds. She lay there motionless and Long Yian couldn't help but think she'd probably upset the heavens to be struck by black lightning. But curiosity in her heart rose and she jumped off her sword to approach the child.

Up close the child seemed to be a girl near starving. Her cheeks were hallowed, her skin an unhealthy color, while her body outlined her bones as if she contained no meat or muscles. Her hair was oily and covered in soot that even its natural color was hidden. Not only was Long Yian surprised she wasn't blown to ashes by the lightning but it seemed the girl had just come out of the slums. But what interested her more was the face the child still seemed to be alive. Her breath rose steadily and moved her chest up and down so slowly that if she didn't pay attention, she may have assumed she was dead.

Long Yian approached the child and held her small arm to check her pulse. The child had no cultivation as her diantian hadn't even been formed so she was but a regular mortal.

How could a regular moral make her way inside the dark void forest and survive lightning as strong as what had just came down?

Long Yian's curiosity had reached the max and the only thing she could think of doing was making the child swallow a revitalization pill and pick her up to head to the nearest town.
