Chapter 6 - Jian City’s Misfortune (1)

The next morning came fast and Long Daiyu awoke in the arms of her new mother. She no longer had a veil on and revealed her beautiful countenance.

If she could describe her mother in two words it would be 'calamity beauty'. She smiled as her mother's eyes fluttered open and looked at her in confusion.

This was her mother now. She would protect her and care for her. A joyous smile made it way on her face as her eyes slightly curved as her lips revealed a toothy smile.

"Good morning mother!"

Yian on the other hand was confused on why her daughter stared at her in awe. However, hearing her words and seeing her bright smile she couldn't help but feel happy.

"Morning yu'er. It's about time we head out and buy you some necessities."

Yian only bought yu'er the necessities for about a week. But now that she would be with her, she needed to buy her many things as the would travel around around quite a lot. Plus, she had made it a goal to spoil her daughter rotten so no man would dare to take her from her.

Yu'er smiled at her mother as she nodded her head up and down like an obedient puppy. Yian stood and sat her on a stool. She had changed and bathed yu'er last night after the entire process but she has also slept in the clothes and messed up her hair.

She took out a beautiful mirror from her space ring and gave it to yu'er and she also made sure to take out some clothes and shoes. Yu'er on the other hand was in awe at how she was taking out so many things out of thin air. Noticing her surprise Yian chuckled and pointed at her finger.

On her thumb lay a black jade that reflected many colors as she moved it around.

" this is a space ring. Mother will give you one later once we buy all the things we need. Now look into the mirror and tell me what's different"

Once again yu'er nodded her head and her cheeks giggled a bit as she looked at the pretty mirror. It was the size of a mans palm, with white encrusted jade around the edges. Looking closely the jade seemed to be many carefully carved intertwined dragons and Flowers. The mirror itself was a famous work of art known world wide. However the only thing that caught yu'ers attention was the girl reflected on it.

The reflection showed a young girl no older than five with large doe eyes and a delicate face. The cheeks were plump and the skin was as white as milk. Yian began to braid and comb her hair as the girl stared mesmerized at the person in the mirror.

"I-is this really me? Or is it a illusion?" She couldn't help but ask. Just yesterday she could barley lift her head because of malnutrition, but now she was looking at a perfectly healthy young girl.

" this is a side effect of cultivation. The higher you reach in your cultivation the more mortal bonds you break. For example, mother doesn't need to eat or sleep in order to survive because I'm strong. If you work hard enough you can become an immortal and live forever."

"If I work hard enough I can live forever ?"

She asked as she continued to stare at herself. She was still shocked at how she looked. She didn't think she'd be this pretty.

"Yes, now come and change so we can go get you something to eat."

Right after Yian spoke. The mirror that looked big in yu'ers little hands disappeared. Yian reached out and helped yu'er off the chair as her hair was done. It was long and reached past her back like a curtain so she decided to put it up in two cute buns with white and pink high quality jade accessories. They dangled adorning her small cute forehead.

She continued to dress her in light pink garments with cherry blossoms embroidered in gold, and she topped it off with a delicately made coat with demonic beast fox fur trimmings on the edges.

Yian is not affected by the seasons weather but yu'er hasn't started cultivation and it gets chilly as soon as the sun sets.

As soon as she was done Yian held up yu'er with a large smile on her face before placing a small pink veil on her daughter. She herself wore a light blue veil matching her clothes before heading out the room with all their things.

The current Long Daiyu in Yian's arms could only be compared to an adorable fur ball or dumpling. Yian was all smiles as she'd enjoy playing dress up with her child while yu'er was totally embarrassed as she received looks from all the people at the in.

Yian on the other hand was pleased with her work.

For commoners on the streets all they could see was two beautiful noble ladies walking down the streets of the famous Jian city.
