There was a commotion in the restaurant as Yian exited, and it took no less than an hour for rumors that Jian city's biggest backer was dead.
The perpetrators were however having the time of their lives buying anything that could be of use to Yu'er.
Roaming the streets filled with delicacies and products Yu'er was eating many sweets and looked adorable with her big cheeks. On one hand she carried a water chestnut cake while the other held a mooncake. If one saw her they would never had guessed the condition she was in just the day before as the plump child looked healthier than the average.
Suddenly Yian who was enjoying the moment stopped before an exquisite store. It was the biggest fabrics store in Jian city who's known for its unique fabrics. They didn't only sell fabrics but made the finest clothes available even cities away. Many women stared into the shop as they passed by knowing only the rich cultivators who pass by Jian or noble families could afford buying there. Yian on the other hand walked in with an air of authority and arrogance ignoring the curious stares from the public. The stores manger, having an all seeing eye, knew very well that the women and child were no ordinary rich people.
Around these small cities only nobles and the rich merchants were allowed to cultivate as they wasted all their money gathering resources, but they were not truly considered immortal cultivators as they could never reach the levels of even the smallest sects. Resources bought by them at an extravagant amount were only pebbles on the ground to the sects who truly knew what the world had to offer. Small sects may yearn for them but in truth the resources were quite common.
The women's beautiful eyes that seemed to see through everything coupled with an aura unlike any other let the subservient manager know she'd had the privilege to meet a real immortal cultivator today. Quickly putting everything at the back of her mind the manger respectfully made her way to Yian and bowed in a welcoming gesture. Plastering her business smile on her face she talked "May I ask what madam wishes to see?"
She dared not ask Yian for her name as anyone who offended an immortal would not end well. It was well known that cultivators were secretive and didn't value life. Anyone smart would know that the rumors going around probably had to do with the haughty Ling family offending someone with power.
Yian looked down at yu'er whose droopy eyes constantly dozed off. It seemed Yu'er still needed rest before her body could recover completely. Yian gently pressed an acupuncture point and watched as the small child in her arms fell asleep in a matter of seconds. She then turned and looked around the many fabrics in the shop before her eyes landed on the manager who dared not look her in the eyes. Her voice came out smooth like music enchanting everyone "I want every outfit you have including jewelry for girls the age of four"
The manager almost fainted on spot with her request. Their shop indeed sold outfits but they had at least twenty different styles of clothing for each individual fabric they owned. Their shop imported fabrics from neighboring towns and had many connections to merchants so they currently at least had three hundred different types of fabric with different designs. The manager suddenly felt dizzy and couldn't help but ask "Madam we currently have at least a thousand outfits in stock for young girls the age of four are yo-"
Before she could even finish her sentence Yian interrupted her as she rose her hand silencing everyone around. When people heard Yian wanted so many clothes they quickly gossiped thinking she knew no boundary when it came to money and could very much lead her family to bankruptcy.
"Put everything into a spacial ring while I pay." where the only words muttered as she walked towards a certain fabric. She didn't mind what everyone spoke of her since she knew well she had accumulated wealth she could probably never finish.
Like any women Yian liked to enjoy the delicacies of the mortals which included dressing up and taking care of her appearance. Since her daughter was so cute she wouldn't hold back and dress her up like a doll everyday. Just thinking of her child in different hair styles and dresses everyday made her stoic face blush a bit in appreciation.
Noticing Yian was serious the manager quickly ran and got what she had asked for while she prepared the money. Those in the store were all wealthy nobles with plenty of money yet they could only afford at most five sets of clothes with jewelry from this store once every year. Envy, jealousy, and admiration were all present in the eyes of the customers as they looked towards the child in Yian's hand. They couldn't help but wonder who the mysterious women was as she was spoiling her child rotten!! If they knew she had previously went to the famous Heavenly Rou Lei to feed her child that had no cultivation or daitian they would certainly spit out blood.
By the time the manager got back with the spiritual ring, her face had many drops of sweat. Yian grabbed the ring as she tossed her another and turned as if the trade was that of mere dirt. The manager looked into the ring in attempt to see if it was a scam and saw the many bars of gold and almost fainted. Shes never seen so much money in her life making her legs feel weak. She'd definitely get a raise.
Yian on the other looked at the outfits and smiled thinking of how nice they would look on Yu'er. She looked at the sleeping Yu'er with a smile and continued to shop for anything that looked pleasing for her child. That day many merchants and managers almost fainted at the amount of money they had received while others knew of a crazy women who liked to spoil her child rotten.
