Another day had come. Again, Lothor came alone. But this time all the love and kindness had vanished from his eyes, and was replaced with rage, pain and insanity. His hands were covered in blood and his clothes were torn. The new energy that emitted from him was unimaginably terrifying.
I took a step back, already knowing that he had lost his mind. He looked at me. "Sythyon isn't coming. Or should I say, the only one you care for isn't coming?" He forced a smile and I didn't know how to react.
'What does he mean? What happened to Sythyon? Why is he saying that I only care about him?' I thought, my mind racing. Then Lothor raised his hands towards me. "Let's go see where he's run off to, shall we?" Then grey smoke came from his palms, surrounding me in fog. I tried to escape, but the fog wouldn't let me leave. It would push me back every time I tried to get out.
It then made it's way inside my mouth and completely paralyzed me. I couldn't move as the rest of the smoke disappeared and Lothor laughed, moving his hand. I then jolted without my consent, and followed him to the dungeon. I tried to fight with everything I had, but my body was already under his control. 'Where are we going? What's gotten into him?!'
We walked down the hallway beside a row of prison cells, then entered a large room almost as big as the throne room. The floor and walls were stone and in the middle, there was a platform stained with blood. I was terrified. 'This is where they execute people...'
But that was only the beginning. I looked up and saw that at the back wall facing the platform, was Sythyon. He was laying stomach first on the floor, rusty chains and shackles wrapped around his wrists and ankles.
He was the most beat up I have ever seen him. Not an inch of his skin wasn't cut and bloody. His hair had been cut short and he was shaking all over. The very sight of him made me want to run to him, but Lothor's magic was too strong. He led me to the platform and chains appeared, securing me to it.
I then felt release, and I had control of my body again. I struggled and screamed even though the chains burned me every time I moved. Sythyon heard, and looked up with fear. "No!!" He shakily got up trying to run to me, but the chains on the wall held him back. "Let her go!! What are you doing??!!"
Lothor swung an axe to rest on his shoulder. "Killing the only thing you love." Sythyon's eyes widened and Lothor grabbed my horn, keeping me still. He hovered the axe over me and laughed. "Which one should I chop off first? Head? or horn?" Sythyon screamed as tears washed over his face. "Stop!!! No!! What happened to you??!! Why??!! Why are you doing this??!!"
Lothor then glared at him. "YOU BROKE ME!!" Without another word, his axe cut clean through the start of my horn, the crack echoing through every part of my head. My magic died in an instant and I could hear Sythyon screaming my name. Lothor held my horn tightly in the palm of his hand, and for only a tenth of a second before he swung again, this time at my neck, I saw nothing but pain in his eyes.
I broke out of my memory screaming my head off. Lothor dropped me in shock and I covered the back of my neck with my hands shaking out of my mind. The vivid memory of shearing pain by cracking my neck open still clear in my eyes. Tears escaped my eyes and I continued to scream. I stopped when I realized I wasn't in the memory anymore and it had only lasted a second, even though it seemed like forever.
I pressed my forehead to the floor starting to sob. "I'm so sorry Sythyon!!" Sythyon froze, but I continued to yell. "I'm so sorry I let myself die!! I'm sorry I couldn't tell you that everything was going to be alright!! I'm sorry I couldn't tell you how much I loved you!!" Sythyon was still trying to process my sudden outburst when I stood up and turned to Lothor now angrier then I've ever been.
"You killed me... Made Sythyon watch... And still had the audacity to say that you loved me??!!" Lothor looked just as surprised as Sythyon but I didn't care. "If you really loved me more than him, then you would have never let your hate get in the way of it!!! And your excuse is that I never loved you back huh??!! I loved you just as much as Sythyon, you complete IDIOT!!"
Lothor backed away, fear entering his expression. "W-What...?" I stepped towards him. "The both of you were my life!! My best friends even though you never got along!! I loved both of you so much, but you refused to accept it, and used your blindness as a way to get back at your brother!!"
Lothor processed everything I said for a moment, then glared at me. "You're lying! If you loved me, then why didn't you ever let me ride you or anything else you let Sythyon do??!!" I glared back and pointed to him. "Because you're mean!!!" Lothor stopped, and looked off to the side. "Fair enough."
I crossed my arms. "And you're wrong. Sythyon didn't cheat by meeting me first. I would've fallen for him either way because he was the only one who treated me like something worth loving. All you ever did was remind me how cruel you can be to others."
Lothor looked back at me in surprise, and Sythyon finally got his thoughts together. "Wait a minute, are you apologizing to me, for GETTING YOUR HEAD CHOPPED OFF??!! That's like saying 'I'm sorry you hurt your fist beating the hell out of me'!!!!" I looked back at him and he had the most confused expression on his face. "I was the one who couldn't protect you!! I should be the one apologizing! And where the freak is this coming from??!!"
I looked down not knowing how to tell him that I'd just experienced that memory. But a moment later, Lothor quickly stood up and put a knife to my throat. I froze in shock and so did Sythyon. Lothor hissed in my ear. "Maybe in your next life you'll be more accepting of me."
My eyes widened and Lothor's gaze moved to Sythyon. "Well this looks familiar. Now where have I seen this before? Oh right, this is just like that day isn't it? How lucky am I to have yet another chance to make you suffer brother?" Sythyon looked at him in anger and fear.
I felt my eyes start to well up with tears again. "Why are you doing this...?" Lothor moved his eyes to me, smiling evilly. "If you're only ever going to fall for Sythyon, there's really no point in wasting my love on you now is there? If I can't have you, no one will!"
