Chapter 56 - Chapter 56: Demon Form

I looked up at him in confusion. "I never thought unicorns had limited magic." Sythyon shook his head.

"They don't. But when their horns are taken, their souls aren't connected to the horns anymore so there's no way of recharging the magic in them. There's only as much magic in that horn as the amount it had when Lothor cut it off. It seems like he's never used it until now. That is why we have to make sure that he doesn't use it again, because if he does, there's no telling what might happen to you if it runs out of magic. That horn might be the only reason you reincarnated in the first place."

A look of worry crossed my face. "I see... Then we should hurry. But first I want to see Arine and Ikko, and get them to a safe place before we go." Sythyon nodded, and we both headed back to the dungeon. On the way, Sythyon lowered onto all fours again to walk beside me. Even though he was still almost as tall as me that way, I found it sort of odd.

"Why are you walking like that...?" He shrugged. "Complete demon form changes my anatomy slightly by curving my frame and legs, and extending my arms. Now it's more natural for me to walk like this. Though I could still walk normally if I wanted to." I looked at his new body and realized he was right.

Even though he still looked human like, his anatomy was halfway caught between demon and dragon. His wings were folded behind his back and his long tail moved freely as we walked down the hall. His horns were also larger than they were before. For some reason I started to feel blush rise in my face the longer I looked at him. His new pitch black skin reflecting the light of the torches in every curve of muscle on his back and arms didn't let me take my eyes off of him a second, and the glowing red cracks that appeared on his body looked as if they were perfectly smooth.

Also, the fact that he was significantly larger than me didn't help my embarrassment at all. 'This doesn't make any sense! He's in a terrifying form right now, so, why am I attracted to him??!!' I thought nervously. Sythyon turned his head to look at me as if he sensed my blush from a mile away, and smiled raising an eyebrow. "Do you like it?"

I avoided his gaze. "W-What?! No! Why would I like it?! It's like you're a completely different species!" Sythyon continued to smile, obviously seeing straight through my lie. "It doesn't matter what species I am. I'm your mate. And you've only ever had me once, which is probably killing you as much as it is me." I blinked continuing to blush. "What is that supposed to mean?!"

He looked ahead and ran the end of his tail up the back of my leg making me jump. "Demon bodies are designed for sex, no matter what they look like. It couldn't be any more normal for you to be attracted to me." I didn't know how to respond to that, but thankfully I didn't have to. As soon as I looked up I saw the room Arine and Ikko were in and immediately rushed to it out of reflex.

I pushed the already partly open door and ran inside, but stopped to see a third person in the room with her back to me. She was kneeling in front of Arine and Ikko talking to them. I recognized the white glowing angel wings and robes behind her back, but I didn't remember meeting her. She stood up and turned to me. That's when I noticed her eyes. One blue and one purple.

'Wait, is that... Gabriel?' I blinked in surprise and she smiled, her form changing back into the male one I met before. Their hair became shorter and their height grew slightly. Though they didn't change much since their male form was surprisingly feminine.

Gabriel waved to me paying no mind to my surprise. "Hello Silvera." I waved back. 'I didn't know that angels could change their gender... I wonder why he's here.' I thought as my eyes fell behind him to Arine and Ikko. But to my surprise, they were sitting up and looked completely fine. It was like they weren't even tortured at all.

I gasped. "Guys! You're okay?!" Ikko and Arine stood up and I ran to them wrapping my arms tightly around them in a big hug. "What happened?! You were completely mangled awhile ago!" Ikko then looked suspiciously at Gabriel. "He healed us. For some reason..." I let go and was about to thank Gabriel as much as I could, but before I got the chance to say anything I heard Sythyon at the door. "Gabriel." Gabriel turned to Sythyon surprised by his appearance but said nothing.

Sythyon then stood back up normally, his height a very noticeable eight feet now that he was transformed. "I thought I smelled a rat." He held an irritated look towards Gabriel and didn't break eye contact all while Gabriel's face showed no expression. Ikko looked back to me surprised and a little terrified. "What the heck happened to your boyfriend?!" I shrugged. "I'm not entirely sure either."

Arine looked between Gabriel and Sythyon raising an eyebrow. "You two know each other?" Gabriel nodded, his face still emotionless. "I was the one who killed Lothor's and Sythyon's father." My mouth dropped.

Silence surrounded us for a moment and I was nothing short of surprised. "You're the one who killed Sythyon's father??" Sythyon's eyes moved to me uncertainly. "You say that as if you know him as well." I nodded. "Gabriel's my guardian angel." Sythyon's face changed to shock instantly. "He's your WHAT???!!!"

I never thought that Sythyon knew Gabriel so I never mentioned who exactly my guardian was by name. Even though all this new information was coming to light I still wanted to thank Gabriel for healing my friends, so I turned back to him. "Um, thank you so much for healing them, you have no idea how much it means to me." Gabriel smiled softly. "I might have an idea." Ikko interrupted suddenly. "Wait! This lord-following stuck up rule follower is your guardian again?!"

I blinked. "Again?" Gabriel turned his head towards Ikko irritatingly. "Shut your mouth malfunction. This has nothing to do with you." Ikko's expression became surprisingly offended, but Arine spoke to Ikko before he could respond. "Oh yeah, why does everyone keep calling you a malfunction?"

Ikko raised an eyebrow at the random question then sighed. "Ever see an angel with back hair and silver eyes before? Neither has anyone else because they don't exist." I turned to him surprised. "Really? Not even fallen angels?"

Gabriel answered me. "No. Even though they fade, all angels hair remain white, and our eye colors are only pastels. Ikko was the first angel to be created with dark features. Even so, he was the last one I expected to become fallen. He used to be such a good angel, then in the blink of an eye he became a heathen." Ikko rolled his eyes. "Don't go sayin' it like you have no idea why. You know damn well what the reason for going against that disgusting overload of yours is."
