Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Two Sides

Ikko's eyes widened as Crucifix continued to yell. "I was jealous! I can't believe I was jealous of that human that you loved so much!! Even thinking about how much you cared for her now is making me go crazy!! And when I found out how heartbroken you were when she rejected you made me want to cause them so much pain that I couldn't contain myself!! I wanted them dead! No matter how you would think of me afterwards!! Even if you looked at me in utter betrayal as the overlord prevented you from saving her! So don't you dare ever tell me that I've never sacrificed everything for someone I care about because I died that day alongside you!!"

Crucifix caught his breath a second, as if he's been holding this in ever since he met Ikko. "Don't expect me to say I'm sorry okay because I don't regret it!! You knew as much as I did that that human took advantage of you! I'm the only one who is allowed to hurt you! No one else! Got it?!" Ikko was speechless. After a moment he tilted his head trying to meet Crucifix's now avoiding gaze. "W-Were you, in love with me...?"

Crucifix looked at Ikko in shock realizing what he had just done. His expression faded and he got closer. "I couldn't take it... I wanted more than to be your friend... I wanted you to be mine. To touch your sparkling skin and get lost in your silver eyes..."

Ikko pushed his hand away before Crucifix could touch his face. He was still in utter shock. It was obvious that Ikko never knew he felt like this, but his expression became serious through the surprise. "This still doesn't change what you've done." Crucifix looked down again realizing that he was right and avoided Ikko's gaze. "I know. But I'll apologize for today at least... I'm sorry I let my dark side get away from me." After a moment of silence Ikko patted Crucifix's head and smiled brightly. "I never thought I'd see the day when you'd let go of your pride! Apology accepted!"

Crucifix looked up at Ikko shocked. "What?! You forgive me just like that?!" Ikko put down his hand and layed back, tired from the weight of his wings pulling him down. "Sure. Because I knew you meant it. You also saved me and Arine. Thanks for that."

Crucifix didn't know how to respond. He was silent until Ikko spoke again. "...Do you, still have a crush on me after all this time...?" Crucifix waited a second to answer. "I thought I didn't, but, when you went underwater willing to drown in order to save that fairy, I realized just how desperate I still was for you." Ikko's expression didn't change. "You really do have two sides."

Suddenly, Arine woke up beside them coughing up water. He then pushed himself up and saw Ikko and jumped when he saw Crucifix. "Ah! You! Stay back!" He pointed trying to be intimidating, but he was noticeably shaking from head to toe. Ikko turned his head to Arine still laying immobilized on the sand. "It's fine. He apologized. He actually saved us."

Arine looked back to him surprised. "What? Why?" Ikko shrugged smirking. "My charm finally got to him." Crucifix turned to Ikko and stood up annoyed. "Shut up! You're always so cocky!!"

Ikko completely ignored him raising his hand. "Oh right! I have my power back! I can dry us off!" White lightning then shot out of his hand and disappeared, bringing back a large breeze towards them. The wind was so strong that they could hardly keep their balance, along with drying Arine and Ikko's wings instantly.

The wind went away and Ikko stood up flapping his wings a moment. "Ah, that's better. That blood I got from you earlier made that twice as easy!" Crucifix glared remembering that he had previously taken quite a bit of blood from him back when they fought. Ikko smirked back at Crucifix. "Consider that part of your punishment along with helping us find Cienar."

Crucifix's glare turned into surprise. "What?! You can't make me do-!" Ikko interrupted him by grabbing his chin and pulling his face toward his. "If you do this for us, I will be very, very grateful." He whispered only inches away from him, casually looking at his lips.

Crucifix's face immediately turned red and his expression relaxed, dazed from how sensual he sounded. "O-Okay..." Ikko pulled away smiling. "Great! Let's go!" Arine blinked. "...What just happened?" Ikko turned to him. "Manipulation at it's finest." Crucifix tried to give him an angry look through his blush. "I can hear you!!"

Ikko shrugged. "That won't change anything. I still meant what I said." Arine then blinked realizing something. "Hey, you two are sparkling." Ikko noticed and got irritated. "Right. Now you know why I hate direct sunlight." A cloud then covered the sun and they returned back to normal. Ikko shrugged and started walking to the side of the island, but Crucifix stopped him before he walked passed, still trying to get his words together. "W-Wait, I can only take you there though. I can't help you any further." Ikko raised an eyebrow. "Why not?" Crucifix looked down annoyed. "Dagger has a corruption spell over me. Though he doesn't care to use it much since he hates angels, I still have to do whatever he says." Ikko gave him a look that said that he had no idea.

"What? When did this happen?!" Crucifix looked up completely serious now. "He's the reason I became fallen. The corruption is also why I have two sides." Ikko had a clear expression of fear behind his eyes as if they were still friends. He put his hands on Crucifix's shoulders worried. "What do you mean? Crucifix. What did he do to you?!" Crucifix looked away again.

"...Before I was fallen, I happened too close to demon territory. Dagger was going to kill me, but Lothor stopped him thinking that I could have some use, and made him cast the spell. Later he violated me in my female form which forbid me from ever entering heaven again." Ikko's eyes widened. "What?! That's how you became fallen?! Why didn't you tell me?!" Crucifix rolled his eyes and stepped away from him. "Because I knew you would've freaked out over nothing, like you are now."

Ikko waved his arms in confused anger. "Over nothing?! You've been a prisoner for over nine hundred years!!" Crucifix shrugged. "Yeah but I don't care. I had nothing to lose but you, and I already did. Let's go now before I go crazy again." He walked away from them without waiting for a response and took off flying in the direction of the ship. Ikko hesitated for a moment then helped Arine onto his feet. "Come'on." He nodded and they both flew to catch up to Crucifix.

Me and Sythyon were flying over the ocean for awhile after we teleported to get away from Crucifix. He was carrying me again although I didn't know why because he gave me wings, but my mind was elsewhere. I was wondering what was happening to Ikko and Arine when I noticed that Sythyon's flying was faltering a little.

I looked back up and saw him having trouble concentrating and noticed a slight pain in his expression. I spoke up and placed a hand on his cheek. "Are you okay?" He looked at me a second but quickly looked away again. "I'm fine." I raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? because it looks like you're going to collapse. Are you sure the poison from before isn't still effecting you?" He continued to lose his concentration. "I'm fine."
