My blush was still present but I gave him a stern look. "Yes. But don't get confident. I worry about everyone." He just smiled and raised a hand to my cheek. "Alright. I will eat if that will make you feel better. After all, I would like to get my strength back so I can bed you again. Going so long without being inside you is driving me crazy."
My strong look immediately turned into embarrassment. 'Hey! That's not what I meant!' I avoided his gaze and crossed my arms. "And here I thought you were just a cuddly kitten." He moved his fingers to my chin and turned my face back to him. "I can be that too. But a pretty girl can only get so close without the jaguar coming out of his den to dominate her."
My eyes widened a little at his choice of words and my blush deepened as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pressing his body against mine. "I was your first. I know that humans get attached to their first. Is that why you're embarrassed?" I quickly pushed him back by his shoulders. "Hey! One step at a time please! You still need to eat!" He laughed. "Your cute."
He ran one of his hands up my side and raised an eyebrow. "Sorry, it's just I like the corset." He let me go then got off the bed and headed to the door. "I would prefer that you wouldn't see me eat. Wait here. I'll bring you back some human food." He then left without waiting for me to respond.
I was now alone. I leaned back into the pillows again and sighed. 'It's been one day since I left Devil's island. I don't know how I went from hating that using demon to finding out how much I loved him. I was about to close my eyes when a white light suddenly appeared next to me. It grew so bright I had to cover my eyes, raising a wrist to my face.
When the light disappeared I moved it away hesitantly. 'What was that?' I then froze as soon as I saw what created the light. A slender being with short white hair, a glowing halo over his head, a young childlike face, and one bright sparkling blue eye and the other sparkling purple was standing next to me. He wore robes of white and the most beautiful angel wings were behind his back.
They were the vision of beauty and were sparkling white as the sunlight hit them at the perfect angle. I gasped in shock and stood up from the bed. He tilted his head and his expression remained emotionless. "Don't be afraid. I am not here to hurt you." I was frozen in shock. "W-Who are you?"
He turned to face me. "I am Gabriel. Your guardian." I blinked. "Guardian...? You mean, guardian angel...?" He answered me with a nod. I was speechless. "Wait, I didn't know I had a guardian." I looked off to the side awkwardly. 'With the life I had, I didn't think I had anything watching over me...'
As if he read my thoughts he sighed. "A guardian isn't what humans think they are. Even though angel existence is known, we are forbidden to interfere with human affairs. Our assignments as guardians are strictly for observation and the collection of the human soul once he or she dies." My eyes shot back to him surprised. "Wow, that's... Gruesomer than I expected..."
His expression didn't change. "It is. But in most cases angels get attached to their humans while watching them and sometimes provide good luck to them in order to extend their life when they are about to die despite the laws of interference." I looked at him confused. "Okay... So you're my guardian angel? Wait, if you're not supposed to interfere, then, why are you here?"
A knot suddenly tied in my stomach. 'Am I going to die or something?!' I thought nervously. Gabriel gave me a concerned look. "I'm really not supposed to do this..." His wings drooped as he said this and the sudden urge to hug him took control of my arms.
I stopped them and grabbed one of my wrists behind my back. 'Geez! Stupid human mind! Why do angels have to be so pretty?!' Gabriel then looked straight into my eyes. "You're friends are in trouble." I stopped breathing. "What?!"
He bit his lip for a second. "After you left Devil's island they missed you enough to come visit you. They are going to a black market. And you know who is head of the black markets... If they get caught..." I gasped and cupped my hands over my mouth. "Lothor..." I removed my hands and started to panic. "No! This can't be happening! I was gone one day and they already got themselves into trouble!"
I crossed my arms. "Man! Those three are so dead!" Gabriel's face returned still. "And you're not going to be the one to kill them if you don't hurry." I ran to the door. "I have to find Sythyon!" I stopped when my hand gripped the handle and turned back to Gabriel. "Gabriel, thank you. But, why did you tell me?"
He gave me a soft smile. "You should pay attention more." Then another bright light surrounded him and he was gone. I raised an eyebrow clearly confused with his answer. 'What the-? Angels need to come with an instruction manual because I still don't get a thing they say.' I shook it off and left the room.
A few minutes of speed walking had passed before I realized that I still didn't know where to find anything in this place. And before I knew it, I was lost again. 'God dang it! Not again!' I walked faster down every hallway I saw hoping that I would hopefully run into Sythyon. 'I should've stayed in his room like he told me to... He would've been back by now.'
I sighed, then a flash of black crossed my vision, and suddenly, Sythyon was standing in front of me. I took a step back startled. He gave me an ice cold glare and crossed his arms. "I thought I told you to stay in my room." I had no time for an argument right now. "I know but I had to find you, it couldn't wait! I found out my friends are in trouble and I need to save them as soon as possible!"
He raised an eyebrow. "What? Who told you this?" I stopped myself from answering. 'Uh-oh. If he finds out an angel was with me, he will freak!' He grew impatient with my silence. "Tell me." His voice was so commanding and almost made the words slip from my mouth. "A-A, um, a friend told me." His eyes narrowed at my avoided response. "What friend?"
I became annoyed and gave up disguising it. "My guardian okay?!" His expression changed to surprise. "Guardian?" It then quickly turned into anger. "An angel was here?!" I looked away from his blazing eyes. "It's not like I asked him to come here!"
He glared at me again and took my arm. "That doesn't matter! It didn't touch you at all, did it?!" I pulled out of his grip. "No, I'm fine. This is off subject, I need to go save my friends." He stopped me as I tried to walk away. "How do you know that bastard wasn't lying to you?!" I grew worried thinking about what might be happening to them this very moment. "Either way, I'm not going to take any chances."
