The morning after Arine Ikko and Cienar cleaned themselves off, Arine found some large leaves and Ikko covered them in moss and tree sap. Arine looked at Ikko confused. "What are you doing?" Ikko handed one to Arine smiling. "This is working out better than I expected. The smell and these cloaks perfectly resemble the bogger demon. Just make sure that the hood covers most of you're face."
Arine looked at the cloak questionably and then back to Ikko. "That does work out perfectly, but, what about your wings? Won't they be obvious under the cape?" Ikko then folded his wings over each other behind his back so that only one was visible. "They are also known to have hunchbacks. My wings will simply appear as only a hump under the cloak."
Arine's skepticalism turned into an impressed expression. "Great job thinking of that. You sure know a lot about demons." Ikko unfolded his wings and his smile faded. "It's not exactly a talent I'm proud of, but it comes in handy."
Arine tilted his head. "Why, do you know so much about demons?" Ikko rolled his eyes. "A fallen angel is technically a halfway breach between angel and demon. Since I was kicked out of heaven, the only things I've been able to hang out with were demons. Sure my scent still bothers them, but we still have a lot in common."
Arine nodded and changed the subject. "Well, now that we have our disguises, we should get going. It's probably going to be dark once we get there. Where's Cienar?" They both turned their heads to look beside them and saw Cienar face down on the ground. "I really don't want to fly again..." He mumbled through the dirt below him. Ikko laughed and walked over to pick him up, flinging him over his shoulder. "Ah! No! Release me! When my father hears about this he's going to break you into pieces!"
Ikko smirked and started to fly again, Arine following close behind. Cienar looked to Arine behind them. "You're reasonable right? I want to see Silvera as much as you do, but there has to be another way!" Arine rolled his eyes. "Sheesh. Are you really afraid of flying that much? Stop being such a wimp."
Cienar shook his head. "No, I'm not referring to that! I hate flying plenty, but I'm talking about the black market." Arine raised an eyebrow. "What about it?" Cienar became even more uneasy. "You don't understand, I'm a siren! Do you know what demons do to sirens?!" Ikko laughed. "Relax. They won't be able to recognize you with all that smell. We'll be fine." Cienar hesitated. "I hope so."
Later quite some time after nightfall, they saw some lights in the distance through the fog. Arine pointed in front of them. "There! I see it!" Ikko started to fly down. "We better get to the ground fast, before they sense us here." After they landed outside the market they put on their disguises. Arine pulled his hood over his face. "Ugh. The smell is awful. I can't wait till this is done and over with so I can scrub myself with a cactus."
Ikko draped the cape over his wings. "Same." Cienar leaned against his staff. "I really hope this works." They then made their way to the black market, and were let in with no difficulties so far. In the market there were many stands selling rare feathers or fur, animals and body parts.
The whole place was crawling with demons that shot suspicious looks their way as they passed by. luckily they mostly paid no mind to them and continued to go on with their business. Arine whispered. "This seems to be fooling them. Now all we need is to find someone who will tell us where the entrance to the demon world is." Ikko nodded and turned to Cienar who was walking behind them as they continued to move down the path. "Hey how long until this smell wears off?"
Cienar hesitated. "About a day and a half depending on how much was applied to the skin." Cienar then gasped silently. Arine turned around. "What is it?" Cienar took a moment to build the strength to answer. "I just remembered that the only amount of bog that was applied to me was those two slimeballs to the face."
Ikko tilted his head. "Does that matter?" Cienar tightened his grip on his staff. "I don't know. It might. It might wear off much sooner because of that, but I never experimented with the swamp of swallows smell effect." Arine shrugged.
"Don't worry. You're with us. We got positively drenched with that stuff. I mean, not a crack was dry after that. So just stick close to us and they won't notice through our smell. Their senses couldn't possibly be that strong." Cienar thought for a moment then nodded. "I-I guess your right..."
Just a moment later, a demon sitting at a nearby table raised his head suddenly. He closed his eyes as if he was trying to make out something. Opening them a second later another came up beside him with a smirk. "Do you smell that?" He nodded and stood up from his seat, his tail swishing behind him. "Yeah."
He then licked his sharp teeth in an evil smile. "I smell a siren." A couple others around them started to raise their heads too. The one demon then blinked and changed his vision to black and white. "Let's see where that amazing smell is coming from." Sure enough after he could see no color, a string of dark blue smoke entered his sight and he followed it, turning his head to see that it emitted from a small bogger demon.
It was fuzzy around the other two in front of it, but it was still clear to see. The demon blinked again to return his vision to normal and raised an eyebrow. "Looks like we have some interlopers." The other combed back his long black hair with his red skinned hand and walked around the table. "Mm, I want him first." The other laughed. "Not if I have anything to say about it."
Back to where Cienar Arine and Ikko were walking, Cienar got a funny feeling. He noticed that a lot more demons were looking at them. "W-Wait, something isn't right here. We should go back." Arine turned to face him again. "What? But we're so close." Ikko started to get the feeling too. "I don't know. I don't think regular bogger demons get so many looks."
Cienar nodded quickly. "Yeah, we can find another way to the demon world, now let's leave before anything bad happen-" Suddenly, Cienar was grabbed by the back of his hood, making his disguise tear off and drop his staff as some demons took him from behind. "Ah!" Ikko and Arine turned around quickly to his scream. "Cienar!" They then were grabbed from behind too and their disguises were taken off as well. One of the demons took Ikko by his wings and pulled him to the ground.
"A siren, a fallen angel, and a fairy? I never thought I would see such an odd group working together." Another grabbed Cienar by the throat from behind and licked his cheek. "And I never thought I would see such a beautiful siren enter a black market. He smells so good!" Another that held his arm spoke too. "Wait, did they say this one was called Cienar? Looks like we have ourselves a prince!"
