Bailey forced a smile at David when she saw him and greeted him sweetly. The nurse helped her get on the bed and she lied down. "How you feeling?" David asked her sweetly his concern for her was too evident on his face however Bailey felt suffocated by it because she knew his feelings for her were no longer just platonic.
The doctor came and said she will be able to be discharged the following day as there was nothing wrong with her, even the EEG came back clear. David was happy hearing the news but Bailey's heart sank. She couldn't go back with David considering his feelings for her but she truly had nowhere else to go let alone the money to go else where.
David spent the morning with her, but had to go to the farm to hustle some money.
During the patient's nap time, Bailey decided she wanted to take a walk instead of resting. The nurse didn't argue with her because she knew that Bailey was just being kept for observation and nothing more.
During her walk, she remembered the first night she woke up, how the keys to a keyboard felt so natural and nice under her fingertips. She remembered the easiness she felt when she was infront of her screen and how hacking had flowed out of her like it was second nature. She had long figured that she must have been a computer geek or something but had never had a chance to find out more. But now that she found out her name, she could try to find a laptop and let it all come to her naturally.
She waited outside the only doctor's office until she heard the intercom calling for an emergency. As soon as he left she checked around for anyone who might be looking at her and when she noticed no one was paying attention she quickly slipped in the office.
She switched it on and it required a password, she breathed in and out and started typing some things randomly hoping that if she just kept typing her hacking skills would come naturally for her. However even after a long while of pressing, nothing came. It must have been because she was panicking before that her instincts kicked in but now because she was relaxed she couldn't do it anymore. She sighed and switched off the laptop again.
When she got out of the office she met a nurse who was about to knock on the door, her heart beat faster and she got nervous but she cleverly said "I was looking for Dr. Welman, he's not in his office" and before the nurse could reply she quickly walked away leaving the nurse stunned.
She only relaxed when she saw that the nurse was not following her. As she passed by the nurses station she heard the nurse talking to a patient's visitor.
"Yes, sir, we understand that you have to go back to the city and it's far but there's nothing we can do." the nurse said.
"You know what, nevermind, I will leave her here and will just fetch her after two days, I got business to do tonight in the city" the guest said exasperatedly and impatiently.
It sounded like the man was here to fetch someone but because the patient was still in critical condition they couldn't discharge her.
When the guest was leaving Bailey quickly ran outside and found only four cars outside at the parking lots. Two of them for the local doctors and another one was the one for the lady that said she was her friend, Loretta May. She figured that the fourth car had to be of the guest, she ran towards the 4x4 truck and hid herself at the back which had no canopy.
After a while she heard the man still murmuring something and getting into the car then driving off.
